hey guys

Cause of the rain ive been off work sitting home bored so decided to make up some rca cables to run our foxtel from one room to another.

I have the yellow (picture) white and red (sound) rcas running from foxtel box to tv in another room. We used speaker wire and ran the 2 wires pos and neg for each rca.

We got picture fine but for some reason we cannot get the sound to work, we have rechecked the wiring and solder and they were connected fine so im lost for ideas any idea how might get it to work?

cheers guys

I had the same problem, buit it was because I wasnt running a correct SCART to component cable aparrently, I had perfect picture but no sound, Foxtel reckon it was because I wasnt using a approved brand of cabling. They recommend genuine Foxtel (no suprises there), or Monster cable.

What about using AV senders and if set up right you can even use your remote

yeh ive borrowed some of a mate but not real keen and dont personally think AV senders are worth $70 when rca's cost less than $20

ill pick up a few double adapters tomorrow and see if it works

Guys guys guys...

No need for any of this!

*if your box has the coax out - most did!

Cheapest, easiest, and best way...

Run the Coax out on the box, back into the wall antenna point!

Tune all the TV's to the analogue frequency of the foxtel box and all sorted!

If not you can run the RCA into an old VCR and then same trick - FOX BOX -> VCR -> COAX OUT -> WALL COAX then tune!

From memory we actually had a thread on this somewhere about 6-12 months ago...

You can also try AV RF senders if you prefer, however not always good in large houses, or places with brick interior walls.

Other option - RCA splitter/switching boxes. :)
