ay mate just curious to know what he front lower grill ( by the intercooler) is called.. like is there a name for the mesh or not? and whats the best place to find them? cause I replaced my intercooler and unfortunately during the replacement my rather stupid dog found the metal mesh object as a chewy toy so I need a new one cause I reckon it looks better with a front grill...

HELP

Just giving this a go, and got as far as removing 3 of the intercooler bolts, but the b*stard one to get (the bottom left hand 13mm one) for starters, there was no way I was getting a socket on there, cause the bolt almost was touching the plate it sits in front of, so I had undo it in smallincrements with the spanner, but I managed to get it of.... but that's all good, and now I realise I cannot slide it out of its hole because the thin radiator thingo (think its the AC fins) is too close to the intercooler to pull out... whats the trick?

Nice job, and a good thread.

My question:

The stock I/c is painted black, so is there any advantage (cooling wise) in keeping it black, or painting it silver (or any other colour)?

I was under the impression black dissipated heat better, so why then are most aftermarket I/cs alloy/silver?
