Photo Locations

Hey guys,

Could someone help me out with a few good photo locations where I can take some snaps over the weekend for my Motorvation entry? I've been given a couple already but just want to have a large variety to choose from if possible!

Cheers :spoton:

Well there's that one I told you about before Dean, either on Howe Street or Guthrie Street (near the King Edward Road end)

City of Stirling council building

A bit boring, but under ground carparks (this one was Karrinyup shops)

Multistorey carpark in Scarborough (on that little short street between the traffic lights, and the roundabout) top level

Pretty ordinary, but a car park just after City Beach (coming from Freo direction)

At the drags, great for motorvation entry pics I guess hehe

Some great spots there Mike, how about up at Mindarie? the boat harbour there at sunset has provided me with some great photos. and with as nice car there would be mint. Fremantle, down at the old surf club, again a late afternoon with a late sun or sunset?

South Perth foreshore (if you can get your car up to the actual waterfront that is), that'd be mint in the late arvo

happy to offer photographic services if you require dude! can send samples if need be :spoton:

cockburn industrial estate is my new favorite

plenty of new concrete tilt panel buildings, a few painted in bright colours, metal sheeted walls, roller doors etc. bitumen is new and clean.

its out in the open so theres plenty of light

take photos early morning or late arvo as the light is soft and easier to take better quality photos. also take a tripod or stand of some sort.

superdan,

the places you listed are great for photos, but not so great for car photos

whilst the boat ramps/the river usually provide spectacular back drops, but its not the natural environment of a car and doesn't work as well as good roads/carparks. for good car photos the background wants to be interesting but not the main focus of the photo. you want somewhere clean and simple that enhances the car, not taking attention from it.

03XR6T, remember you are showing off you car, not the best locations in perth. also It might be stating the obvious but make sure it the cleanest its ever been and don't skimp on the tyre shine. also pay attention to the shadows/reflections in the paint. oh and unlike your avatar STAY OFF THE GRASS.

good luck

Esky speaks the truth!

For Motorvation pics your probably better off using Mikes location in Ozzy Park. Ideal for what your after. Simple, effective etc. If you are planning on going there this weekend, let me know as im planning on taking some pics there. I work on King Edward Road so it makes life easier!

But if you want backgrounds I took some pics of my recently departed bunky at Enjo. random buildings down near Leach hwy and behind AudioArt (??) etc but def to much focus on a background for MV entry

Other locations I've seen are hillarys against the blue doors near launching ramps, grafitti walls in freo, trigg boat ramp (highly doubt you'd make it down there though)

Thanks for all the help guys :spoton:

Mike, I'll give some of those places a go & see what I come up with. I've had heaps of photos taken in the past but none of them seem to be up to scratch. It's so hard to get a decent photo

Superdan, I've already got someone coming down with a camera to take the snaps but thanks alot for the offer! If she turns out to be no good I'll give you a hoy :nerd8:

Ford Esky, where abouts in Cockburn are we talking?? Do you mean near the Stock road markets there or more toward Beeliar sort of way? Big concrete walls are always behind cars in magazine spreads so that can't be a bad idea :w00t2:

Mat, I'm meeting up with Deonie some time in the arvo as she is helping me out with it all so maybe we can all get together & find some top locations? I'll definitely check out the place in Ozzy Park that Mike suggested so we'll be near you anyways.
