OK, So what does everyone think would be the best turbo for street use on the Barra engine? Budget is not a concern for this thread, so you can suggest what you will. Keep in mind that max power will not be required because there is only so much that can be used. Imagine the car has a Tein with EDFC shock adjustment and some good tyres and lets say 265 rear footprint. These specifics are just to take some of the guess work out of it.

Stock turbo internal gate?

Stock turbo w/ External?

Replacement turbo ( larger or smaller )

yeah I just thought I might get some debate out of this thread...

is the stock turbo the best though? would something a little smaller be better for response?

weird thread mate!

the ultimate street turbo is fitted to the barra engine stock, it just has a crappy internal gated rear housing

that's what I think. Leave the std turbo on. Get an etm external 44mm wastegate, bigger compressor wheel, 12lb actuator and maybe extrude honed. That billsta dude also had a modified front cover. You wont have any lag. This would be the ultimate and is definately what I would do.

Stock power wise, I would prefer a smaller turbo (same as the new FGT) as takeoff is somewhat important for me but if I was after decent power throughout the range, I would definately stick with the current factory turbo. :rl:

Well the 4l capacity lends itself pretty well to the gt3582r, I

wouldnt go smaller on the turbine wheel, maybe the smaller comp wheel of the new fg turbo would be what you want.

I love you hopkianz
