In all seriousness, E85 will use more juice. You may want to check the xcal as there might be a 98 tune? If you have a 98 tune, chuck that in and see how you go with fuel economy. Oh and that lead foot does not help either. I have a manual FG running on 98 and I get about 450km to 500km per tank, depending on my lead foot. If you have a car like that, why you worried about economy. If you are so worried about economy, put it in the garage and get a bike for daily duties. k31th less WHY; more WOT Site Developer 28,300 Member For: 16y 13d Gender: Male Location: Melbourne Posted 27/02/19 07:53 AM Share Posted 27/02/19 07:53 AM E85 is equivalent to about 107 octane unleaded, in terms of it's knock-resistance, so it can be leant on significantly harder than even 98, in terms of timing etc which would normally produce knock/detonation on 98, which means you can get much earlier and more consistent power curves through the revs, but at the cost of having to input 30% or so more fuel into the cylinder to get adequate combustion at all. You must tune for whatever octane fuel you're looking to gain advantage from the higher resistance, to have almost any perceptible benefits Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
