Interested to find out what would be the theoretical top speed of a 300rwkw T, assuming standard driveline, 4 speed Auto.

Anybody know?

What would the formula be to calculate it?

Luke

Hey Luke.

Better question would be whose game enough to see if theory = practice :tonguepoke:

I would reckon close on 280 - 300 Clicks, would also depend on where your rev limiter is now set to, if at all =), and whether the donk and driver can hang on that long.

Anything over 200ish is pretty bloody scary I reckon.

A quick blast up the Geelong Freeway ought to tell ya Luke :omg:

I am not that brave mate

Only reason I ask is because a mate of mine owns a 911 and he cant believe that my T is quicker ( which it is, easily )

He is convinced that once you got to 200ish the T would die on its arse.

I reckon it would have heaps left.

Be interesting to know, but I wont try it.

Depends how the car is set up and tuned.

I've run my uncles 911 TT he got the shock of his life, upto 250 clicks my car felt very strong.

For a 300rwkw T depends what the tune is like up top, but should definately be capable at 200 clicks.

Because there is so many variables that make a difference with this kind of thing it is really hard to tell.

I have an engine calculator on my PC that is used for stats and different engine configurations etc and it estimates that the top speed would be 273.37km/h...

Baised on the fact that I got my mates bog stock BF manual to 240 and I think they max out at 248 (or something) 270 might be in the ball park...

Get out on the highway and give it a shot :tonguepoke:

APS did 307km/h with their phase3 auto sedan in 2003 for Motor magazine.

The biggest problem was suspension and brakes.

At anything over 200km/h Aero plays a huge role and our cars lift the frontend. You would want a lowered car with stiffer suspension.

I would think 300km/h would be easily achievable, I have done over 200km/h (on the track) many times and the cars handle nicely with modded suspension.

Stock my 6 speed manual xr8 got to the speed limitor quite easily, once the blower went on it pulled hard all the way. Iv'e sat on 24o clicks for a solid 5 min without any drama, the car handled fairly well. What it didn't like was pulling up hard from there, stand on the brakes and by the time you get back to 1oo or so they are red hot and shudder like all hell.

my 4spd xr6t with 226.9rwkw got to the limiter(240-ish, from memory) pretty easy, felt like there was more in it, just wouldnt let itself go..

and yes, my brakes shuddered so much I thought I had square wheels...
