This install is much better in the flesh (thanks for taking a detour to drop in to see me Adam)! I liked where you installed the external video converter. Good Idea there. Neat job! Well done! Whats next :P

Hey bro,

Firstly great set up you have there!

Just a couple of questions:

1. the VGA converter right, how did you set this up? is there a plug I can get to plug into the ICC? (sat nav im assuming) I was checking out the website and it has all the wires where do they plug into in the converter?

2. I am assuming that the converter's input is either VGA (ie like run off a comp) or also S-video or RCA? Am I correct with my understanding?

3. Did you just put it in a electronic box from Jaycar?

4. I really just wanna plug in my iPod for now and maybe set up a reversing camera? will the converter work with out anything else? (other than power or does it need to be run by a comp)?

thanks for your help in advance.

sorry for all the questions!

Thanks guys! I really love it. The upgrades on Centrafuse has improved it. Load time and functions are much better than the first version I had.

1. Yes, it plugs into the satnav connector. An Aerpro connector will do the trick. Part number 711761. I believe the current card uses a VGA plug for the input.

2. Yes, I run a VGA cable from the computer to the video converter.

3. No, it has mounting holes, so I cut some small plastic spacers and bolted to the back of the glove box.

4. It just needs power. I don't know if it would work with an ipod. If you want a reversing camera aswell you'll need a different converter with switchable dual inputs. The same company has them also.

No problems.

To use a reversing camera I'm pretty sure you want this one... Car Monitor NTSC to RGB Converter for Reverse Camera

The advantage of this one is that it's 12V (the other is 5V) so it's an easy thing to hook up.
