H1 Kit $399.00 http://www.carworkshop.com.au/product_info...14247d86db671b9

H4 Kit $599.00 http://www.carworkshop.com.au/product_info...14247d86db671b9

This has "H/L" in the item description in the online sales site, but on the product specs it lists an item "H4-2" which would be required for the falcons - not sure if the price is for this product though.

Do you think you'd still need the high/low H4 if you're replacing the H1 with a better light anyway?

Hey George, I've got a set of the GE Xenon HIDS. Here's some info I posted up on them, they are the Bi-Xenon H4 kit, and cost me $300 thru Richie of Equibs.

Cheers

Robin.

Sorry about that George, I've never been flashed by anyone coming the other way. Also they are set not to point high (ie down on the road). I was even thinking about putting in another set in the hi beam lights (ie dual hi/lows) so I have 4 headlights in both hi/low !!! But I figure the hi-beam reflector will point the light up to high for low beam use. Anyway just an idea...

Cheers

Robin.

So Robin - do they make the difference to lighting that the adds say they do? I would like a set just for the high beam lights - I assume that is what you have. You can also get a combo that has high beam xenon and standard low beam cant you?

You can get most globes available in conversion kits. H3 for Highbeams and H7 for the foglights can be converted to HID, but I would think doing the foglights would cause a huge amount of glare.

The H4 Hi/Lo is a must as the cheaper kits have a second halogen globe for the highbeam, which sucks.

One thing to remember if you are converting the highbeam, is it can take a few seconds for the globe to warmup to operating temp. This makes the highbeam less than efficient for a few seconds. This is not a problem in the H4 as highbeam is just a solinoid click to ajust the angle of the globe.

As for the question about the difference ? If you have never driven a HID car, it is hard to explain the difference. I think it is double the visibility, especially in the wet. Just do not buy any conversion kit above 5000k

The First Pic is the Hi/Lo HID globe

The second shows the balast that each globe requires. It is not the neatest install, but it works very well.

Guys,

I said don't buy them online - forget carworkshop.

I paid $330 for the H4 Hi/Lo and I think $245 for the H7s. This includes shipping!!!!

The point of the exercise was for the RRP seeing as you weren’t forthcoming to begin with.

Thanks for the update though :spoton:

I have a spare set I will sell that are the same as mine.

H4 Hi/Lo for $250 + shipping.

I bought a set for the Territory, but the wife is happy with the current +50's.

PM me if you want a set.

P.S this is what they cost me from eBay.
