another update...

Well, upon finding out that she's not entitled to long service leave till next year, we decided to pull the pin on the current job :redfinger: screw them.

Anyways, Rach called her boss on wednesday (RDO) and simply asked how much notice she'd have to give if she decided to quit. The boss turned around and said, if you're thinking of quitting then don't come back..

Well.. we knew how much notice we needed to give (4wks), so we wrote up her letter of termination, and handed it in... the boss didn't want her back there for the 4wks, so we asked her to sign, date and document the fact that Rachel is not wanted there... I don't think they realised that they now have to pay her 4 wks woth of pay .. according to the industrial relations. So we phoned workchoices, and they're gonna send out some paper work to claim her 4 weeks pay :crybaby: plus she already got 2 weeks worth of pay.. so that's 6wks pay for nothing :spoton:

Plus she starts at another salon on september 4th... all has worked out great and the old bosses can go f*ck themselves :boff:

Thanks to everyone for the support, and advice. I'm glad its over and we can get on with things!

http://aca.ninemsn.com.au/ <- check out the front page streaming video thing in the corner. Exact same circumstance as you! Weird.

I'm glad it hasn't had to go that far... however, if the boss refuses to pay the 4wks pay, then it might go further. Provided they pay the 4wks pay, then its all good.

well, after speaking to IR people and workchoices and sending the employer an official letter demanding her owed pay, we got 6wks pay out of them :spoton: Pretty good considering she got paid for the 4wks that they owed her from the date she gave resignation, plus another 2wks pay for holidays that she was owed. So 6 wks pay, and she started a new job 2 weeks after the old one.. worked out well :stupid:
