Glad you and your family are unharmed at least turboboink... also glad they didn't get the car.

That sucks Lennox...and I thought I had bad luck getting a scratch on the skirt of the car this weekend while away with the missus on our anniversary...could be much worse than 8 inches of touch up paint.

some wear and tear from the weekend. Was pretty happy with the Nittos, but the rears (Yokohamas) not so... Biggest thing was the Brembos, never felt any difference in pedal pressure all day.

and I know a lot of people arnt happy with the standard cooler (xr6 or F6) but was pretty impressed with the difference in temperature between hot and cold side

^^^what do the pictures indicate? is that from cornering fast and are you running 245's all round? also what power have you got ATM? I have a f6 cooler and looking at low 300's rwkw max (one day)...

Also on a side note, has anybody used Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 on the rear? (275/35/18 if it matters)... I have the F1 Directional 5 on the front and am pretty happy with grip, etc .....just the rear is pretty terrible with cornering in the wet (Falken PT-722), thing slides out even doing 30-40kmph in a roundabout....or is that a normal thing to happen on these cars? lol

Falkens have a 440 treadwear and I think lower treadwear means more grip? (but I'm sure there's other factors that dictate grip in the wet like compound of material and what not). I just want to feel safe (or even just safer) in the wet and I'm talking 2000-3000rpm max in said conditions...or is the only way to feel safe by buying super expensive tyres?

LOL .... yeah but I'm talking NO THROTTLE....I.e. turning right at a small/medium roundabout....back end just slides and I look like an A hole trying to show off my drifts...more like body roll and retarded look on my face :P

surely my tyres would have something to do with it...or is this the norm in heavy RWD cars, and I should not even bother changing rear tyres?

YES!!!! finally rocking the multiquote thanks to google chrome :P

Haha good wet weather tyres will help, but you still need to respect the torque of these cars.

Makes sense I suppose....still rekon better tyres should help a bit? plus as stated the times when its scary ... I'm not even using the right pedal at all lol

Tyres

Tyre pressures

Wheel alignment

Is that a question for me? or a statement? I assume statement lol .... but FYI tyres as mentioned GY EF1 D5 and Falken Azenis PT-722, 40psi front and 37psi rear, wheel alignment as done by Bob Jane (maybe sh!thouse?)...I would assume they do it to Ford specs or something?

im running Nitto Invos 245/35/20 on the front and Yokohama Earth 1 (Ref http://global.yokohamatire.net/products/earth1.html ) 275/30/20 on the rear. Nittos are 260 tread wear (softest I could find). I think the fronts (bottom pic) could have used a little more air/more camber.... maybe, Aaron or Luke would have a better idea. Rears are just feathered from spinning.

Again, Tirerack.com is an awesome site for getting info on everything tyre related.

Below page will explain tread wear/traction rating/speed rating etc.

So do you rate the earth 1 tyres? clearly not so much by the sounds of your first post? (plus me being a noob I cant see any damage to the tyre...as they look in better condition than the invos? lol) ...I just did a google search and found the post by taleb tyres on these....$199 each is insanely cheap for 20's ?

I thought yokohama is supposed to be the sh!t....but maybe like every tyre manufacturer, there is the cheaper average tyres and the more expensive better tyres?

Thanks for the link! (I think I may have already read it before...its where I actually discovered UTQG/Treadwear lol....but maybe I have to re-read and some new info will appear to me) I have a feeling that its not as simple as low UTQG = more grip

Does your car try to slide out at 30-35kmph when turning right at a roundabout? Maybe its just a normal thing and I'm just being a b!tch lol

***Forgot to add that my car is stock! ... maybe I shouldn't be increasing power any time soon... I can handle it in the dry but in the wet I drop nuts lol

Mine ends up at Coppin Rd tip in Mundaring :( They have a big hole you dump it in 20L per visit...but of course we have a tip pass due to living in the area.

You local council tip will have an oil disposal facility. You should be able to dump the oil and containers for free.

Probably best to ring your local council and enquire.

I am getting that a lot with the Achilles tires I have on the back. it has to do with he way you are throwing the weight around the car.

If you had gone to the MC Motorsport performance coarse you may have had some tips on how to get around it. :P

Ye its a friggen load of crap really, the new server blows

It would be the company that is hosting the server, that is causing the issues.

I did a whois and the company has their number listed.

Called the number and it goes to voicemail as no one is in the office.

HTF can no one be in the office. I smell cheap and nasty for some reason.

No offence to dags cause it is hit and miss when it comes to website hosting.

^^^ hahahah Marco! You really want to meet me don't you.... :P

I PM another guy regarding this, and he rekons that sh!t shouldn't happen...his car has stupid power as well, although that wouldn't come into play in the scenario I have described before...it probably has something to do with our high UTQG figures...I think the ATR is 400 and my falkens are 440 .... I guess its the price you pay for longevity :/ plus I'm running 275's and yours are 245's (I assume) so really I think it could come down to falken just being sh!thouse (I always thought it was a good brand, but hear many negative reviews on various falken tyres...but mixed reviews always happen when people give their opinions on tyres)

All I know is I will have some near new 275/35/18's for sale in a few weeks hahahaha I PM a few of the tyre suppliers on this and AFF forums to see what they recommend... I will be either going the Sumitomo HTR ZIII or the Nitto Invo's (purely cause I can't afford the super expensive stuff) but I'm sure either one of those will be an improvement! Here's hoping anyways hahaha
