Now that is a debatable subject.I am sure alot of people on this forum site would have more of a idea what problems are occuring and best of all how to fix it.

I agree with Falchoon.

Synthetics are just too good (slippery) for the running-in process.

Get everything well bedded in then go to a good synthetic, say after 10 thou or so.

Sometimes, owners of new vehicles are just wat too soft on bedding in the rings. this is where you will get the maximum use or burning of oil. A dead cert fix for this is a stint under load on a dyno or simply a good squirt under hard accelleration in the lowwer gears.

If your car has come back from the dealer magicly fixed, I'll bet a left one this has been the problem most of the time.

I was only 2 mm from the bottom of the dipstick and didnt see a light come on at all. Is the light there for oil level or oil pressure?

just got my T back from the dealer (again)

found an oil leak yesterday when on the hoist at exhaust shop,

dropped it in this morning, was given a brand new fairmont as a loaner,

dealer fixed it and washed/vacumed my car and had it back to me this afternoon,

they were very vague on what it actually was "a not correctly sealed washer" when I asked for more detail was told the guy who fixed it wasnt in.

Car has done 1500kms.

once again  to Carmichael Ford for a good efficient job and excellent customer service

Oil lights are operated by oil pressure usually they will come on when its almost to late, sometimes it may flicker on and off to let you know it needs attention. Checking the dipstick is your best guarantee while you get to now the car (as they say).
