if u really don't know then u probably should goto www.nissansilvia.com if u are that interested! lol

they are an imported car and come with a 2L Turbo or 1.8L Turbo engine, making 160odd kw or 130kw standard, and with the cheap as chips mods of exhaust , filtar, boost , etc they make 210kw easy. best bit is they are classy have every gadget u could imagine, and they are light, only 1150kg, as u can c id be careful running them, the downsides to them are they have buggerall space as they are 2door imports, also the insurance is just down right stupid. good luck peoples

Everyone I know calls them "Slowvias"!

I had a few runs against a friend of a friend's turbo Skyline. Was neck and neck each time. Whoever got the better start would win.

"slowvias" low that's pretty funny considering a car costing 10k with 5k of mods will be faster than a xr6t, il admit stock ones are not as quick, as they run a mid to high 14, but as I keep saying each car has its advantages, my car might beat u ina race, but it can't tow nething, and can't track a family around, so everyone to there own opionion, but silvias/180's are defiantaly not slow!!!! ill run neone here

"slowvias" haha, that's the bigget load of sh*t Ive ever heard. Hey if u want power, looks, comfort, style in an affordable package, u cant go past a 180/silvia. and if u think a 2.0L turbo is slow, well u must think your XR6T is slow also, as they r only bout .5 of a second (if that) quicker then a stock 2L turbo sil or 180.

not really bagging the ford turbo, but they don't really have anything compared to a lightly modified turbo (exhaust/filter) sil/180.

What started as a interesting subject suddenly got very boring.I for one are really not interested in your comments about your car.Go and spend 50K on a T and be abit more contructive.

Yeah, light cars are fast - and they corner faster too - and even stop faster. Only trouble is if you stop too fast by running into ANYTHING heavier than your car you will probably be DEAD.

I like small fast cars but I like big heavy fast cars a lot better.

Silvias are those 200sx wannabes that Australia rejected as new cars, but because they are so CHEAP, importers love getting them in cause they attract '1st performance car' buyers. I think they go ok, and they don't look too bad either. I beat a few of them in my EB 5.0(which I used as a LOW benchmark) so they aren't anything special. But if you are in an area like Gold coast where theres import sales yards, they are everywhere. Any car can be made fast I guess. Save your money and buy an earlier model xr6 and turbo 'it'. Just my opinion, not being disrespectful.

200sx is a riceburner but it is not "rice"

it is a great and well balanced car

went from a 200sx to XRT and I miss the quick handling response of the lighter car but love not bashing my head on the sunroof ...

they are both fast, XRT has more "brute" and the 200sx more "finesse"

unfortunately there are too many "riced" 200sx about now, let us hope that the same doesn't happen with the XRT

oh ... I'm convinced that the auto XRT is faster the manual ... SEAT OF THE PANTS

We should organise a day for 1/4 trials between the nissansilvia forum and this forum. Think there would be a few good shows from each forum. I also noticed a lack of races against imports. A friend is putting an xr6t into his 2000 model ford falcon, has anyone tried this before and is it a lighter vehicle? Im in the process of putting a rb20det (turbo 2L six) into an s13 silvia and I know of others that have. It would be good to have a track day seeing how you guys go against the imports. That way you have proof of bragging rights and so will we. Who is your brisbane moderator?? Organise one for each state maybe? I think it would be a great idea to have both forum members out on the legal strip putting their cars to the test. I know a few of you fellas will have something to prove and so will a few of the import guys. I've posted a stirring thread up on the nissansilvia site to see who is interested. It might not happen but it's worth a try I think. Let me know what you think
