butt stops? - are you sure he didnt say butt plugs?

 hehe... well, some rubber thingity jig in the back end... he said there were apparently 3 stages and he could take one stage out, but that would be "illegal" or some rubbish like that. I will still keep on pesturing them until something is done..

hehe

What he is on about is the bump stops - and from memory they are a three lumped rubber stop - he must mean cutting one of the lumps off.

My car is almost touching the bump stops at standard height, so I imagine with a set of slightly soft shocks or springs the car could easily be sitting on the stops.

Whenever people lower the rear end they need to cut the stops, hardly see why it would be 'illegal'.

You mean the Bump Stops

My vibration has now stopped.

1. It was the bumpstops compressed to much due to the car being too low

2. One of my intake pipes were slightly off and causing mixed readings of air temp to the computer.

Hope this helps

Adrian

I've got an 08 bf sedan & the vibration started 3 weeks age, only minor to start but now it has increased heaps, its when you use accelerator pedal from lights to 40km/hr then if you hit reset on cruise & car accelerates but vibrations gone. from lights the front lifts & the back really grinds down until you back off & back lifts & vibration goes? if you go around a bend & hit a hole the back flicks out.this has xr6 suspension fitted & I noticed no rear bump stops left.

Sounds sort of like a loose front ball joint.

Well done on digging :mole: a 2005 thread... Only 15  years ago...
