Hazey Member 234 Member For: 20y 8m 19d Posted 03/02/05 11:21 PM Share Posted 03/02/05 11:21 PM In the last couple of days my T has started making a whistle sound when Max Boost comes on from Turbo and when I back off the Accelerator.The closest thing I can describe the sound as is when fireworks traveling in the sky before they explode (that whistle/High Pitch Whir) Only thing I have done is put in 2nd CAI with XR8 Snorkle. But was not making the sound when I first had this.I have checked all Pipes to turbo/Intercooler and tightened.Think it could be a leak of some sort? like in the Intercooler Rubber Pipe?ThanksAidan Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It shrieks at about 5000rpm like you said, a fireworks whistle noise. It is not the turbo or the wastegate. The turbo sounds like a jet taking off, this noise is not a good one, it just doesn't sound right. It is clearly audible if you stand outside the car, you can hear the turbo spooling and then between 5000 - 5500RPM you can hear this high pitch shriek over the turbo noise.
