I just spoke to Craig, (GEAA),

He is on his way to Adelaide as we speak to race tonight, he expects to be there about 5.30-6 pm, he has 670km to go.

He said anyone who feels like a chat to call him, here is his mobile,

( posted with his Authority) 0417 892479.

He is hoping it will be a cool night, weather forcast is for low to mid teens, so lets see.

Now all you locals need to get there and kick his A.

Thanks once again Geea  :spoton: ..But Vixen is a manual...However I'm running a ceramic plate so I'm not too fussed about giving the clutch a bit of abuse..

Is the burn out neccesary?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

The burnout depends on the tyre compound that you are using. All tyres will benifit from being heated up as they generally become stickier allowing you to lauch at higher rpm without wheel spin.

The dunlops and other street tyres don't need 20 second burn out like drag slicks or radials are designed for though. Once you have a bit of smoke comming off them they should be fine.

The key as Geea said is to just use the water to get the wheels spinning and then move you burn out forward so you are spinning the tyres on the dry track to heat them up.
