They can run a coloured gas through the system to identify most leaks, suggest they do this as on a new car you shouldn't have to put up with warm aircon. It is a UV dye that glows under a UV light to make leak detection easier, although it has its pros & cons. A major leak like it seems you have-leaked out over night should be easy to find, how ever a non cold system could be more thatn just low on gas. there are other things that can do this, so AC guages usually need to be connected to check pressures & performance.If there is a leak that large it really should have been found during the regass or prior to that when the systen is vacced down & left stand. Unfortuneatley lots of places skip a lot of the testing & just shoot some gas in & worry about the details later.an air con specialist should ba able to handle any of these situations easily.
