How is test conditions also? It is starting to get pretty warm now. Always hard to compare times of cars unless they are both run on same day, same time etc. could of been crap conditions and a XR6 T would run high 14's that day, who knows. Whats the article say?

Those times sound p!ss poor to me. Manual or not, the times should be quicker than that. With 550NM at 2000rpm the car just CAN'T be that slow. Me smells a rat!

If those times are right, the typhoon is a big wank. I reckon Ford are trying to protect their GT flagship because any T with a chip would kick out :spit: out of those times. Why would you bother. I'm :spoton: pissed now :w00t2:

0-10) 0.51 secs 0.46

0-20) 0.99 0.94

0-30) 1.44 1.39

0-40) 1.89 1.81

0-50) 2.35 2.27

0-60) 2.86 2.77

0-70) 3.42 3.70

0-80) 4.33 4.48

0-90) 4.98 5.17

0-100) 5.73 5.91

0-400m) 14.02 Seconds 14.23

Above I’ve compared those times with Motor from Jan 03 (2nd figure on each line)

It looks like there is little difference in times in 1st gear, and the F6 is a bit slower off the line.

The F6 has more torque, but it does not make up for the extra weight and it’s gearing disadvantage to get a good takeoff from standstill.

The T5 has 2.95 ratio and 3.46 diff, overall 10.207

The T56 has 2.66 ratio and 3.73 diff, overall 9.9218, so it’s taller.

It’s why I’ve argued that Ford should have put the 2.97 1st ratio in the F6, not the 2.66

I.e it should have used the same ratio as in the XR8.

The T5 pulls around 67 in 1st, the F6 around 70…. Which can be seen in the incremental times above. As soon as it gets into 2nd the F6 pulls away.

However, to really compare they should be tested side by side, under the same conditions, so the above comments may help, but not conclusive.

Still, a storm in a tea cup in my eyes. Ford have been loathe to publish figures, now it looks like its because they are not that flash. 10 points to Ford marketing for effort. Quite a beat up.

Heh. :3gears:

I hope that figure is wrong.. Why are Ford scared of creating a new hero car? The F6 could easliy crank out a flat 13 yet Ford won't do it. I am getting tired of FPV already.. They could be so much more..
