My son thought it sounded sick.- Look under the bonnet & find the plactic tube from the turbo to the top of the motor is completely off & sitting on (melted onto) the heatshield.Back to the dealer, more apologies, no reason why. They clamped it back on & gave me free keyring (big deal). Not sure what to do now. Any ideas, what would you do?Cheers,muzzzza... That's just completely careless, and what next time they forget to reconnect your brake lines? Is it enough to keep going to any Ford dealership for service, or will only the place you purchased honour it? I dont think it matters what dealer you end up going to, that why you choose a dealer to do the repairs.Muzzzza- what can I say !!!!! If your not going to get good service you may have to LOOK ELSEWHERE . They make money from warranty work and if you deprive them of this that's where it hurts. Alternatively you should be appropriately compensated ...a Ford Racing jacket would be a lot better than a keyring. Guest cul08r Guests Posted 28/05/04 01:03 AM Share Posted 28/05/04 01:03 AM re the turbo pipe falling off, this is a know problem with the car and many have been found to be loose. Mine was in fact not sealing onto the front of the turbo. It's a plastic pipe that should be rubber IMO. re the other stuff, at least they have tried to fix it. Lets hope that the idiot who drove and worked on the car has been reprimanded...Andrew Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/11006-ford-service-dept-stuff-up/#findComment-127596 Share on other sites

I can dig that, I'm wondering about the "extra" 3 yrs that are coming with these cars, it seems to be linked to a particular Ford dealer as long as you service your car with them the whole time? Other workshops such as Ultratune sre suposedly allowed to service your vehicle and warranty is still OK. Not everybody lives in the same area for three years so I'm sure Ford would not void warranty because you move to Perth from Sydney after owning the car for a year. So if you are dissatisfied with the dealer you have now you should find another one I say.I'm lucky, the dealer I bought the car from is good and seems to do a good servicing job (apart from the headlight bulb incident ) so I will continue to go there. Plus they are convenient for me as I can drop the car off and walk 15mins to work. You only get the 'extra' 3 yrs if you always service your car with Ford and I think it's only with that dealer, so if I went to Dynotune or a different Ford dealer, my regular 3yrs is ok, but the extra 3yrs might not be? Does that make sense?I'm wondering if I switch to the other dealer in town how my 6yr warranty works. I don't have extended warranty. If you feel so passionate about discussing extended warranty, you should start a thread to discuss the issues.BTW, have you called Ford in Melb, they should be able to give you an answer.Cheers, Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/11006-ford-service-dept-stuff-up/#findComment-127689 Share on other sites

That's just completely careless, and what next time they forget to reconnect your brake lines? Good Point JB.I was hoping after the fan incident, they would be on their toes & bending over backwards to do the best job they can, then the turbo dramas still happened.I know probably changing dealer is best, but could it be just "jumping from the frying pan into the fire"I really have to weigh that up. How do know if one dealer is better than another. As for this dealer, surely a set of premium brakes would be adeqaute compensation rather than a keyring. But I'd still love to hear what you guys would do, should I let it go or should I push the dealer or Ford more some assurances. Thanks everyone!
