I'm not selling it because it doesn't serve 'much' of a purpose on these cars, I'm selling it because there's no f*cking way I'm locking my brand spanking new F6 Typhoon with a key! I'd rather sit in the car for 20 seconds if I've just given it some stick! I got there 20 seconds faster by fanging it anyways!

It seems that all the people that are arguing about the tt dont seem to think you have to look after your turbo. Even if you hardly boost it at all, a 2min drive down the road and back, YOU NEED TO IDLE YOUR CAR! anybody that doesnt do that, doesnt deserve a turbo car in the first place and needs to go back to driving camrys.

my 2c, dont like it - well im not gonna lose sleep over it tonight!

The reason you idle your car is to let the turbo cool down right?

Then whats the point in doing it for a two minute drive without boosting, your car wouldn't even be at normal running temputure, and secondly when you idle the car after normal driving(not much boosting) it makes no sense cause the car will only get as cool as normal running tempurture

The way I see it is fair enough XRT's don't need them but it's not going to hurt having one so what is the problem?

I still let my car calm down after spirited driving.

that's it that's all you need to do.

tom mate you really need to read all the pages in this topic before you comment anymore cause repetition is really bloody annoying.

You say "how is running hot oil through your turbo anymore effective then running cooler water ???

HOW??"

firstly, id like to you to take your car for a nice drive, come home and then open the bonnet and try and drink some coolent. Then you will realise that under that engine bay, there is not one thing that is "cool", so to clarify, the water that it is going to use is still hot.

Now, you are not running oil through it to cool it, as stated earlier, idling is to drain as much excess oil out of the turbo after use so it doesnt bake over the bearings and seize it up!!!!

now sorry to point ppl out but its come to it

xrdreaming - you claim your not a parrot, then go on the same post and say "You got it because it is rice or bling and it;s fully sik and skylines and silvias have them and they are cool at the local Maccas car park" - mate your an absolute monkey why dont u listen to ppl ya know-it-all

arronm - timers for BA BF Turbo cars are a waste of money and fuel. - Buddy, if you cant afford the fuel on a brand new falcon idling for 30 damn seconds, mate sell your car cause your in for a big shock

turbodewd - "turbo timers are for old-tech jap cars. Fitting one to an XR6T is a joke. The evidence is abundant" - dont come in this topic and start sayin stuff u dont know about. With your stock as a rock turbo, u probly dont accumulate enough boost to worry about such a problem

xrtpsi - "The way I see it is fair enough XRT's don't need them but it's not going to hurt having one so what is the problem?

I still let my car calm down after spirited driving." - well done mate, atleast someone has actually read through this and got the idea

In closing, I wish this thread stayed closed the other day. It was opened so people could get some decent information. Now its just being flooded with stupidity and ignorence
