Hello guys! An extremely long time lurker but never posted before. Long story short, I have myself a 2010 FG falcon that originally had the 5 speed auto. The 5 speed milkshaked so I saved all my pennies and bought a zf6 to put in it and used Hootons harnesses to avoid changing the entire body loom. She's all in and changed from P,R,N,D. After using FORscan and figuring out the PATs programming I got it started and she drives and changes through all the gears, Hooray!. My main issue now is, especially in the higher gears, on low throttle, the RPM's surge a lot. You can't feel it surging but you can definitely hear it and see the RPM's bobbing up and down. I've driven just over 1000kms (long drives all in a week) and the problem seems to just be getting worse. This issue usually only occurs when the RPMs are below 2000. I don't believe it's fuel, ignition or vacuum problem as it idles completely fine with no misfiring and on my long drives I achieved an avg fuel consumption of 7.7L/100km. When I put the foot flat it has plenty of torque and changes the gears no worries. It's as if the transmission is hunting, or surging. This is my first automatic vehicle and I'm already starting to hate it. I've seen similar threads/topics but no definite answers. I also believe my zf6 shifter is fkd because it doesn't go into "performance mode" and every time I open the drivers door it beeps at me and displays "transmission not in park" on the dash. However I believe that is a separate issue from the surging I'm getting. I'm going to install a new shifter hopefully on the weekend if I can find one and hope it fixes that issue. I'm also going to give the zf6 another drain and fill (2nd time) to see if that changes the behavior but I don't think it will. I've taken all sorts of drives with it and have no DTC's (fault codes) showing on FORscan. I've had a little play with logging the live data but to be honest I have zero clue what I'm looking for. This only happens when at cruising speed (gentle throttle) or when I'm trying to go up hill the surging gets worse, almost as if it hesitates to drop back a gear. I should also mention the shifts from 3rd-4th feel quite odd. I'm going to try and upload a video of it and try to link it here. I assume no codes probably means the solenoids are okay? I'm really hoping it's not the torque converter. Please feel free to ask many questions and if anyone has experience anything similar please let me know. I'm hoping to use this thread to diagnose, fix and actually report back to what the issue was and what fixed it. PS. I also want to thank you guys for helping me over the past decade with fixing the falcons with your awesome knowledge and experience, cheers.

Trying to gather information to start preparing for a Barra swap into an 02 Mustang GT. If there is anyone who could measure from the front of the engine to the shifter on a T56 transmission it would be appreciated. I am also curious to know if there are any downsides to using a BA motor vs BF if I am going to be installing forged rods and pistons anyways.

Hey guys looking for a hand looking to swap my boot for a g6e boot lid to lose the spoiler. I have a 2014 xr6 turbo and looking if anyone’s done similar and has any tips or tricks cheers.

Diff on my FG turbo ute is on the way out and local mechanic recommended that if I want the diff built up to try some out of town mobs rather than the local transmission place. Want to go with a TrueTrac centre, weld the diff tubes and stronger axles might even be a good idea while I'm at it? Ive got 300rwkw, tramp rods and carry an extra half ton load every day. So who are some diff/driveline companies I could contact for a quote that would do an exchange? Send me a built rear end, I'd swap it locally and send my old one back to them. I'm in rural nsw, about 6hrs from Sydney & 5hrs from Melbourne.

Hi guys I am doing a engine swap of a xr6 fg motor,to the same fg xr6 motor. Do I need to swap over the same computer ? For the electronic to work? Is there any problems a lay please? Or because it's the same engine and everything,it should be a simple swap? Thank you

Hi guys, new here. I'm doing a FG long block into BA conversion also a t5 to t56. The engine harness is for a ZF 6 speed auto, but my BA ECU is tuned for a t5 manual. Will it be okay to run with the automatic connections taped up? Or will the Canbus wiring cause trouble?

So my G6E just clocked 100,000kms and I got fed up with the drivers seat bolster being all crushed and mangled when sitting on it. The leather in that area was worn, still in ok condition but the foam underneath was just weak. Passenger side was immaculate so I thought...Time to swap! The backrest of the seat is not swappable due to the side airbag being on the respective side. However the bottom seat foam and leather are identical pieces left to right. Sorry for not taking photos of the process. Was my intention to do so but I got carried away. Start of by removing both seats. - Remove all the plastic trim to expose the 4 seat bolts - Using a T50 torx bit unbolt both seats - Carefully tilt the seat back and unplug the various electrical connectors - Now lift the seats out of the car into an area where you can easily work on them Now we need to get the bottom foam piece swapped - Finish removing the remainder of plastic trim from the seats - There are 2 bolts on each side holding the backrest to the bottom of the seat - Undo these and lay the seat base next to the backrest. - There are a few wires running between these two pieces for the airbag. I just left them connected - Next starting at the back of the seat unclip the leather from the seat base. - It's held on with long plastic sleeves that hook over the metal edge of the seat base - Once its all unhooked....CAREFULLY....lift the leather away from the seat base - There are strong velcro strips in each recess of the seat foam that keep the leather taught - Make sure you dont pull the velcro off with the leather! - Now that the leather is removed you should be able to see the foam. It just lifts off the seat base - The passenger side will have a sensor glued to the foam (passenger occupancy sensor) which is part of the airbag system - Carefully remove this (I used a knife and slowly cut it away) and glue it to the other foam piece with upholestry glue At this point I went to town cleaning the leather, the seat rails and the interior of the car underneath the seats. - Now just reassemble everything and your done! Took me about 4 hours Few snaps During the mess Passenger side finished. You can see the worn leather and compressed foam Drivers side looking brand new!

Hi guys has anyone ever use a bf manual ecu to in a ba ?? We can't seem to get it to work, trying to rule out weather its faulty ecu or if it's even possible?
