  2. G'day this is my first post. I've recently picked up an FGX XR6 turbo ute and I've gone straight into sound system upgrades. Biggest problem I've run into is mounting 6.5 inch components into the doors, has anyone got tips for modifying the stock speaker mounts? I've noticed that the inner door trim rests against the speaker mount. If I trimmed that off with a dremel will the door trim push in at all? The speakers are Focal PS165FX's. Thanks
  3. Hey guys, So about two months ago I bought a BA XR6 N/A, I'm loving it for a first car but I just want a couple extra KWs. All I want to know is what would be the most effective way to get a touch extra out of it without spending all my cash ( I don't want to spend over $3500 though I could go to $5000). I've heard that just a new air filter and a good tune up can give me 10 to 20 extra kilowatts. Is there anything to back this up or is this just someone talking out their arse? I understand that a new exhaust could add a bit but I hate the noise, I like my car to look and sound good. Are there any exhaust systems out there that wont change the sound to poorly? You know, I don't want a straight six that sounds like an 8 with a hole in the muffler. So yeah recommend me some good mods that will add a bit without emptying my wallet.

Ok so I have a ba xr6t that has aftermarket intercooler an pipeing 1000cc injectors iwg75 wastegate with 12psi spring Exshaust etc to match Car is dyno turned an tuned for 12psi.. was capped at 12psi due to faulty boost solenoid and needing valve springs upgraded So they capped my boost to 12psi an bypassed the boost solenoid was running great for awhile (2 months) Now my boost is reaching 17-19psi of boost checked for boost leaks etc an tried installing a boost tee to attempt to bring my boost down with no success car seems to run fine with the 17-19psi I can tell its leaning out abit but not ovally bad an dont want to blow a rod out the side So any help on why the sudden over boosting? An any tips on gow to bring my boost back down to a safe level
  5. Hi guys, First time poster but have been stalking the forums for a number of months now. Recently sold my Ba falcon and have upgraded to a 2013 manual FG MkII.. I noticed yesterday a new noise in my transmission, it sounds like a very slight grind, almost like something catching. This only happens when and results in: - Car is in gear with the clutch pushed in - Car is moving forward/back. Pushing it causes this intermittent noise to start periodically - Time between noises increases the higher gear it is in. For example twice per foot in 1st, once every 2 feet in 6th - I can feel a very slight vibration with this noise through my shifter if I hold it A guy I trust with mechanical issues has told me that it most likely isn't a pressure plate or driveline issue. Any help/past experience any of you have had with anything similar to this would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

I have installed the following mods to achieve that power: Aftermarket valve springs 460 Walbro in-tank fuel pump 62lb injectors Xcal4 Plazmaman 1000hp intercooler w/ 2.5 inch hot side piping Plazmaman 4inch intake racebox Process West throttle body relocation w/ 3inch cold side piping Plazmaman plumbed back BOV Turbosmart 12psi internal actuator Intune turbo oil feed line and filter Battery relocated to the boot The car has just over 100,000km. I've attached a few pics below.

Hi all, I currently have an 03 Ba XR6 5sp manual sedan and have plans on doing a turbo motor swap once I am halfway through my green P's (about 2 years a long time I know), I know the troubles of this but I would like to do something unique and as a project for me and my friends. In the meantime I would like to do 'supporting' mods over time. I am planning on getting a cat back exhaust done sometime next week only because she's a bit too quite right now . I have been looking at various other mods such as installing an LSD, sway bars, coilovers, fatter tires etc. Since I have never done anything like this before I didn't want to risk making any mistakes in the purchase of parts hence why I am posting here. LSD: I would like to know if I can fit an lsd unit from a BA XR6T? (obviously manual or will an auto fit as well?)... Suspension mods: For the suspension mods I wanted to push the coilovers a bit as I do not want to splurge out 2 grand for them at this moment. In terms of swaybars I have found some from whiteline: http://www.whiteline.com.au/product_detail4.php?part_number=BFK001&sq=4188 Supercheap auto also sells these however this kit seems to have everything I need (I'm not too sure what half of it is). I have also been told that doing the control arms (front and rear) would also help with handling of the car but no clue what I should get. Stores: I have no problem driving a bit to get the right parts. There are some wreckers around me if I need to go and find a wrecked car. Also if you know of any suspension workshops or stores that would do a good install of the parts I listed above for a reasonable price please let me know. As for online shopping I have no problem as long as the site doesn't look sketchy.

Hey guys I recently picked up my 2014 fg xr6 mk2 ute and was thinking of lowering it but wasn't sure about what the best option would be as I don't know much about suspension I don't want to slam the ute but want it to sit at a decent height I was also worried about how low to go as I have heard that fg Utes have problems when lowered. I'm an apprentice at the moment and want to still be able to make good use of the ute for work purposes aswell Sorry for the long post but Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated Thanks

  11. I've got a ba xr6 turbo and aiming for 700rwhp+, so far engine is down to bare block and have had head work done. Pretty much wanting to know what engine parts are good and what to use, what brands, parts etc. Wanting to run a high mount turbo manifold, what turbo would be a good size, gt42 etc? Engine will most likely run a built 2 speed powerglide behind it. Will be run on e85 so what fuel system will be good to support it. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
  12. Here is a photographic guide how to change the interior light globes in your BF XR Falcon. Firstly, here is a link to where I got my globes from. Remove housing and unclip power from the back. To remove lights, grab and rotate anticlockwise Remove globe by simply pulling straight out. Replace globes with your desired colour LEDs Plug the power back in and push the housing back into the roof until it clips in. Done. Before & After ----------------------------------------------- Main Cabin Light ----------------------------------------------- Start by removing the plastic cover. Now remove the globe, be careful, this is really tight so try and loosen the clips a little before pulling on the globe. Replace with the desired colour LED. Replace plastic cover. Before & After ----------------------------------------------- Rear Seating Lights ----------------------------------------------- Remove by using fingers or a flat head screw driver to open from the drivers end of the housing. Unplug from power for easy globe removal These globes are bayonet type globes, so just push and rotate. Close up of the globe and housing. After completing all globe changes. Thanks guys
  13. Hey guys, Just a quick question which I am sure you have all heard or been asked a thousand times already. I had a quick look on the forum and was unable to see a topic regarding this, possibly due to me being a blind sod. Anyway. I have an 03 XR6T with the standard seats being black with the grey pattern. Does anyone know where I could get the door insert pattern parts in the Phantom colour? I have looked on ebay and a guy wants some $700-$800 for just the insert/trim bit (I dunno what to call it, sorry) Looking to do the front and back and then find someone to do upholstery on the seats. Am in Brisbane if that makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.
  14. Got this information from Ford NZ if anyone was wondering 50th Anniversary FG's in New Zealand Falcon FG G6E 35 2010 = 33 2011 = 2 Falcon FG G6ET 20 2010 = 18 2011 = 2 Falcon FG XR6 171 2010 = 158 2011 = 13 Falcon FG XR6T 20 2010 = 20 Total 246 Looks like the 2011 models are very limited.
  15. Looking at putting 1.5-2" lowering blocks in the back end. It's a 2008 fg xr6 turbo. I'm unsure if I have to change shocks and a few other things, and I've also heard that it doesn't do no good to the tail shaft
  16. Hi, I was wondering what is the max wheel and rim specs for an FG Falcon for both front and rear? I would like to know whats the max wheel diameters, widths, tyre widths, heights and offset of hub for rear and front? The legal specs and the illegal specs? And, the distance from the hub to the edge of the fender (used to calculate offset)? Anything would be appreciated.

  18. last night went to pick something up in me old mans ute which is a BA Xr8, I dont see there being a difference between the XR8's, turbos or standard falcons in terms of ignition barrels so I figured I'd still post this even though it is in the xr6 turbo section. reversed the ute up a drive way to load some stuff into the tray came back and went to turn the key to ignition and there was nothing, n dash lights or anything, anyway, called RAC out their road side assistance guy had a look and believes it to be the ignition barrel. just trying to find out how much roughly I'm looking at to replace the barrel, I'm in perth with the vehicle so if anybody knows any good places to get it done which wont cost me an arm and a leg, sorry forgot to mention I'm North of the river in perth but I've got 100km towing to any workshop, quite desperate as its on the property where a trucks usually parked. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  19. Hi team, Did a bit of a search to find a comprehensive list of the limits to the different parts on the B series XR6T's, nothing came up. There is a sticky on the FG's but they are a different beast. I guess all the info is here on this site individually, but a nice list would be handy. If we could group source the info and sticky it, might help newbies like myself. Been a Fordmods member for a long time, but they don't seem to have as much knowledge in their userbase on the factory turbo sixes as on here. If we could list the parts, and fill in the blanks about what is reliably accepted from the following components: Factory Injectors: I've been told 10psi will push them to their safest limit. Factory Fuel pump: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. Factory dump pipe: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. Factory Cat: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. Factory exhaust: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. Factory wastegate actuator: good for ??? psi, anything more requires upgrade. Factory Wastegate flapper: good for ??? psi, anything more requires upgrade. Factory intercooler: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. Factory piping: good for ??? psi, anything more requires upgrade. Factory valve springs: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. Factory Throttle Body: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. Factory Tubocharger: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. etc etc. That way those newer to the ways of the XR6T can look up what parts are likely to restrict first, and plan an upgrade path, rather than just go about slapping bits on, without the right supporting mods. Hey Guys, First off I'm looking to buy a first car that I can work on and muck around with and do up how I please, I've always been predominately Ford man ( Not to say that I don't like Holdens') but for a first car I want it to be meaningful and what better way to do this then to buy an XR6!! But I'm tossing and turning over the issue of a Ute or a Sedan, I've seen good mods and ideas for both but what better than to ask people who know about it! So please give me your thoughts, pros, cons and all the good stuff Enjoy!

  22. Hey guys, the name is Sam I just stumbled across this forum and thought, what a great place to get advice, I'm don't know too much about cars due to being new to the car scene. I just turned 18 two days ago, I own a 2003 BA xr6, everything is stock currently. I have been driving this xr6 since I first started on my L plates, I know the car fairly well. However I'd like more power. I am starting to look at exhausts and extractors.. Is there any other things I could do to look at some decent power increases? Please include brands that you would recommend. Please no comments like "if you want power get an xr6 turbo" or "just wait for yours full license"... Hey guys, I have recently bought a 06 xr6 bf mk1 6sp manual I have installed a k&n air filter and had it lowered on king spring superlows it has pacemaker extractors and hi flow cat flowing thru a 2 1/2 exhaust with twin tip Now here is the problem, it is non turbo atm. I am wondering what would be the best turbo to have installed ? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated , cheers. Also looking to install boost gauge etc, so price ranges would help

Hey all, Just have a quick question and apologies as im sure its been posted before but im after some info on playing my iphone 4s (i0s7 software) through the stereo via bluetooth as my cable is buggered and cant afford to buy another at the moment for the $100 that it costs, also id like to avoid using the 3.5mm audio jack if possible the static hissing noise drives me crazy. Also any suggestions on better sound options speakers amps subs etc, its going into a ute as well, just after ideas not sure on what I will spend if I do it, if I will do it even, if its worth it even. sound is terrible. Also I use 320kbps music or wav. flac files only on my iPhone and when running through the 3.5mm plug it hisses horribly until I plug the cigarette lighter charger into and its reduced a little bit but still infuriatingly annoying would it be an earthing issue? Also sounds possibly snobbish but sh*t audio quality irritates me like nothing else id much rather listen to silence if it sounds horrible, distorted, interference, etc. Any help would be awesome cheers Apologies if this question has been asked to death I couldnt find a link to it
