  1. hello all ive been slowly doing up my FG xr for 2 years now its got 303rwkw so far, im hoping to boost that to at least 375rwkw with this new turbo ive just won on ebay ...... I know first hand the dodgy factor of buying things off ebay so I thort before I hand over the hard earn'd id run it by the pros first apparently its got the waste gate mod'ed. its off a f6 tornado with 70000klms, mods done 7000klms ago not ment to have any sharft play or damage im a little sus on the markings on the front cover 6-1/1 , just read that 7-1/1 is the f6 and 6-1/1 is the FG sorry for the dodge pics just what ebay had (more sus?) got the turbo for $760 from what ive seen them go for seems like a goodish price especially with the gate modded any input would help (freaking out slightly)

Hey all, Just have a quick question and apologies as im sure its been posted before but im after some info on playing my iphone 4s (i0s7 software) through the stereo via bluetooth as my cable is buggered and cant afford to buy another at the moment for the $100 that it costs, also id like to avoid using the 3.5mm audio jack if possible the static hissing noise drives me crazy. Also any suggestions on better sound options speakers amps subs etc, its going into a ute as well, just after ideas not sure on what I will spend if I do it, if I will do it even, if its worth it even. sound is terrible. Also I use 320kbps music or wav. flac files only on my iPhone and when running through the 3.5mm plug it hisses horribly until I plug the cigarette lighter charger into and its reduced a little bit but still infuriatingly annoying would it be an earthing issue? Also sounds possibly snobbish but sh*t audio quality irritates me like nothing else id much rather listen to silence if it sounds horrible, distorted, interference, etc. Any help would be awesome cheers Apologies if this question has been asked to death I couldnt find a link to it

  4. Hey People, my name is Petar and this is my first post! Just bought myself a 2008 FG F6 sedan last week, saved up for this thing for 3 years! Ill be doing some mods here and there but the first thing I want to do is get it loward. I don't want to slam this thing on its ass but just want it sitting nice so I dont get defected or anything. I want it to be riding smooth and not stiff, what is the best way to go about this? different springs or sock and springs? Thanks heaps and here is a photo of it

  6. Hi, I purchased some 60lb Deka's and from reading other threads I'm aware I'll need spacers to get them to fit my FG. I'm just wondering where to go to find these spacers? I'm based in New Zealand, and trying to save my tuner the hassle of sourcing them himself. Cheers
  7. hello all . ive just got my 08 fg turbo auto back from the shop , if anyone can remember I had a post up getting advice on what I should get done, original plan was to get my turbo front cover changed and upgrade the waste gate and actuator and go for 370-400rwkw but I ended up being about $1000 short so I coulnt afford to get the turbo and fuel pump done so I stuck with the stock turbo , the end result is impressive bottom end power but its a bit dull in the top end, I find that if I change gears at about 4500 rpm it gos way harder and will spin the tyres but it seems to drop away after 5000 , so the car apparently makes 302.9rwkw @about 4900rpm and 1226NM @ 3180rpm @ 20-21psi of boost no boost graphs were given so I cant confirm this its just what they said also cant see if its holding that pressure all the way through the rev range I suspect its dropping in the higher revs mods include rapid systems v2 pipe's cooler and turbo side intake Exforce 4inch turbo back system mild steel H/D valve springs injectors ( doesn't say what size or brand) x-cal 3 and dyno tune now that you know how the cars set up my main concern is boost pressure lack of boost control ( max boost) and lower than average power for more boost than most people with same power more torque than most people with the same power (dyno run in 3rd) dyno shop is known for good work and wasn't cheap they said it was safe and that the auto box was the reason its not making the 320-330kw mark but at the same time ive got friends with similer mods making more but through different dyno companys with the auto + countless people on hear saying they made a little over 320 so im a little bit worried that somthings not quite right any info or advice pointers would be would be sweet Thanks

Hi guys, Not sure if this topic has been raised before but, I've got a MK2 XR6 turbo and was wanting to put some gauges in (boost, oil press.) and was wondering if anyone knows if someone makes a gauge holder to sit above the ICC. I know they make one for the MK1 but have yet to see one for the MK2. If anyone could let me know if they make them it would be much appreciated Thanks, Matthew

  10. Hey all has anyone seen this little thing or have tried it already. I came across it today and the first thing that came to mind was Hyclone (CRAP). After checking it out and thinking about the Hyclone, was that it would have been ok if it wasent fixed and rotated like a fan. Well this thing dose just that fits snug in the air intake pipe close to the throttle body and can spin up to 3000 rpm. Dose anyone know about them, Pic Below.

  13. G'day everyone I have recently traded my 09 FG F6 manual for a 11 FG XR6T auto ute and was wondering if any could tell me if the XR will run the boost and oil temp gauges if I performed a dash conversion any experience?? Cheers in advance!!
  14. Hey guys.. Just a quickie.....Is it worth the money Dynamating the front doors in a BF Ute. I do have a set of MB Quartz splits with a 10" sub in the back tray. I've heard people say it makes a huge difference. What is this difference they're refering to.

I bought the car around 4 weeks ago at Manheim Auctions Moorebank, it's an ex cop car and I noticed the engine noise around 3 weeks ago, it only comes on after driving the car hard and/or the engine is hot.   17. Hey guys been looking around but haven't actually found a post where somebody has painted their stock wheels on an FG.. Wanted to know what the rough price would be if I were to go with any of the below colours (quick photoshop job) and howmuch it would set me back if I were to lower the car as low as it is in the pictures (stock height at the moment) thanks p.s: wouldn't mind your opinions on what colour I should choose either so hit me up!

    Turbo Leaking Oil

    Hey Guys, First post, pity it has to be about a problem with my XR6T. Just purchased a 2010 XR6T with 47000km on the clock. Bought off a guy in Melb who had purchased the car brand new. Car was picked for split diff bushes at RWC which I was assured (by both the seller and Ford) was a common problem. Car was still under warranty and as such was returned to Knox Ford in Rowville to have the parts replaced and was thoroughly checked. Seller provided invoice from Knox which made comment about an oil leak around turbo - "Check for Oil Leak around turbo - Oil leaking out of turbo intake tube, oil in tube is from normal blow-by coming through inlet tube from PVC pipe. No fault with vehicle, removed and cleaned intake tubes and refitted making sure hose clamps tightened correctly". As part of the check the timing case oil leak was also detected and shorter bolts installed and idler pulley assembly was replaced. This check was completed on 02/11/12 and I collected the vehicle on 09/11. Today I took the car to my local Ford dealer for 45k service and when I went to collect the car I have been told by the service advisor that the Turbo needs to be replaced???? On top of this even though the car is still under warranty they have advised that it may not be covered under warranty because the "turbo has been tampered with" and it doesn't have the standard air filter installed. This will result in me being out of pocket $8k for a new turbo :o There was also a comment made in relation to blow back into the engine and hoping that this hadn't caused any damage??? I have spoken with the seller (who didn't have to talk to me given it was a private sale) who has advised that he has not modified the turbo in anyway and I have opened the air box and the air filter is just a K&N aftermarket part which (in my far from experienced opinion) is a ridiculous reason to knock back a warranty claim? I have no doubt that the guy I bought the car from gave the car a squirt (who buys an XR6T and doesn't) but I highly doubt he sat there in a $50k car with his foot on the brake bouncing off the rev limiter doing a 200m skid! How easy is it to blow up a Turbo in one of these? From reading other forums I can see a number of people have had the oil leak issue from the pipe at the top of the turbo. After driving around in my trusty (and yes I know a little boring) BA MkII XR6 this is turning into a nightmare after only 5 days!!! I have attached photos of the Turbo this afternoon after collecting from Ford and you can see the oil as well as a comparison between the filter in my BA (white - which has a full service history with Ford) and the one in the Turbo. Appreciate any experiences and thoughts on the Dealers Comments! Cheers, Pip
  21. Hey guys. This has really been frustrating me. So I took both the rare door trims out of my xr6T FG which was easy and perfectly fine. but when I try to put it back on the it just does'nt clip on properly and sticks slightly open from the top. (Photos attached). It just feels like some things touching somewhere. But I did spent hours but could'nt figure it out. However I have taken the front trims out and did'nt have any problems putting those back on. Do I need to put my window down while doing it or something. Let me know if you guys have faced similar issues or if there is any logic or trick behind this. Help much appreciated guys.Thanks
  22. Heyy. Have an FG MkII XR6T Ute with a custom tray, Ive had it lowered both front and rear. For a few months now Ive noticed a squeak in the rear right wheel (usually on every rotation), but as soon as you tap the breaks the squeak is gone, Ive had it looked at and ford cant seem to fix the issue. Also, when going from a complete stop to moving, I hear a loud creaking noise in the back, Ive tightened things and tried jumping on the tray but no noise, only when I accelerate from a standstill do I hear it.   23. Hey all, I have recently disconnected the stock heat exchanger from my fg xr6t and fit an oil - air cooler. So far all is well, and more to the point... no chance of a milkshake in my gearbox! I used the PWR Cooler, got some lines, and a set of fittings from ebay (tried cutting the stock exchanger pipes off but it was to dodgy for my liking) I dont have an auto trans temp gauge however took it to the drags the other weekend, and no problems after 5 consecutive runs. Noticed the oil was a discoloured when installed the cooler, so I am going to get a flush very shortly... The install itself wasnt too hard, had to relocate the horn, and extend the fog light wiring a little bit... no big deal! Im pleased with the result. Running stock power levels atm, also I have a 10 inch thermo fan that im am going to fit to the front of my oil cooler, when I can be bothered :headbang2: This is the PWR cooler I used And the fittings I bought off ebay! Mounted the cooler under the DS headlight Used a die grinder and made a few slits in the wheel arch to let the air flow through! Any questions feel free to ask!
  24. Just thought I would let anyone that is interested in purchasing a new fg M2 turbo know that there are differences under the bonnet compared to M1... I purchased mine about a month ago now and so far have had a couple of issues: - first I had the new street air box fitted by Kevin from Process West which required a bit of cutting due to the air conditioner piping being moved ( I could be wrong on description as I'm new to the fg turbo) - I also have had the factory inter cooler replaced with Process West's new stage one kit which on the original fg just bolts on, though with the M2 requires a little bit of grinding - my ute is in getting tuned as I type and the M2 uses different software to the M1, which at the moment is being sourced through CAPA. I would assume that the would be a few changes and also other performance mod brands would have similar issues if they are ment to bolt on the the M1 fg. Hopefully this has helped anyone looking to mod a Mark 2 and if I come across anything else I will post.

Dynaudio 242GT 6.5" splits 2 x JL Audio 6.5" Subs in rear speaker locations Running off a JL X D 500/3 All speaker cables will be replaced as well. Where is the easiest spot to split a remote line for the amp from? Thanks, J
