  1. Hi All, I have a NA+T conversion that's been done however my next worry is Trans. It is a Gas motor with a few mods, 294rwkw. It is still using the NA FG ZF6 in it, that has over 200,000km and has had a tough life. From what I know that ZF boxes for the FG, na and turbo boxes are very similar, just a few extra clutch packs. Is it worth looking at buying a reconditioned box, having it fitted. cost would be somewhat 5k if im lucky. Or is it possible to have the NA box rebuilt with upgraded parts?
  2. Hi All, I am in the process of doing my FG NA+T build, (I wont be installing, a mate will be doing all the work) I have gone for a gas build and have my motor back from the engine builders (Oil pump gears, timing chain, valve springs, head studs and full recondition/rebuild) Only thing I need to worry for now is the transmission. It still has the standard NA ZF6. Seeing power figure people have made with the gas motor and those modifications. I would assume 350kw would be very easy to achieve with the GT3582 (Ported 39mm gate, 4 inch dump) 1000cc injectors, upgraded walbro fuel pump and Plazmamans 700hp inter cooler. What sort of power can the FG NA ZF6 handle? keep in mind it is regularly serviced but does have 200,000km on it. My next question is, if I go for a turbo ZF6, will I need to get a tail shaft? before starting this build I recently just had a brand new serviceable one put in and losing that would be annoying. And if I do have to get a new tail shaft will I also need to get a new diff?. My last question is, did NA FG's have factory LSD diffs fitted? reason for this is when I have the car jacked up and turn a wheel, the other wheel spins in the same direction but the sticker on the diff says STD (standard I assume) Apologies for all the questions as I'm sure some of these have obvious answers
  3. Hi guys, dumb question, is there a specific type of exhaust flange that's needed. Its for the stock one for the FG turbo, I know its a 3inch but trying to google "Exhaust flange 3inch for FG" comes up with multiple sizes Anyone have a link to one that will work? TIA
  4. Hey I know this may sound like a really dumb question. Im still learning about everything. but one thing I cant get my head around is how exactly a larger dump pipe fits to a turbo. say if you have a stock 3inch dump pipe. how does a larger 3.5 or even a 4 inch fit over it if you decide to upgrade and keep the same turbo, wouldnt it be larger in diameter that goes over the turbo??? Thanks
