OK, I think it has something to do with the Ford Canbus Got other problems now with car. Has developed a miss and runs rough when cold. Put new coil packs in today, it has helped a fair bit. But still have a miss around 50 to 60kmh sometimes. Just idling along really, but slight miss. So no idea what it could be, car has new plugs, coil packs, injectors, fuel filter etc. So should be ok. Pulls hard on the upper revs etc. Just doesnt like idling along at around 50.

Well did some things to do sedan. Was going to use a tuner on here, but timing and costs didn't meet up to what I can do. They were very accommodating, however COVID has thrown out my travel plans etc. So car now has 1150 Injectors, Antz battery and air intake relocation kit. Also got new fuel filter, spark plugs, oil and oil filter. Also fixed few oil leaks. End results 286rkw and 700 odd newton meters of torque.

Sedan is 2008 MK1 was sold new to Victoria Police, not sure what it did for them...... Few weird things ( Well for me) like factory fitted light duty tow bar. But no tow ball tongue etc. Ute is August 2011 MK1, with leather, premium stereo etc. The two Amigos Ute interior Ute Engine bay Sedan engine bay, now has Intune piping kit. Sedan Exhaust was fitted with 4 inch System. now this Not sure on brand of dump pipe...... Do know the fitter had to put a heap of silicone goop to get it to seal to turbo housing.... Since getting exhaust fitted, I keep get CEL and codes. P0420 and P1131 Also notice with Scangauge, temp goes from -40c to running temp of around 90 odd degrees. Sedan will get few updates and dyno soon in Adelaide.

Old Post, My Xr6t has a Streetfight cold air intake. It is missing the lid, its how it came with the car. I have from my XR6T Ute wreck an Antz kit. Should I stay with what I have or swap over to the Antz

Perhaps someone here works for a Ford Dealer and can let us know.........

Cheers, it has lasted 12 years and 220kms. So think it has done a good job. There is definitely a different part number, cant tell you part numbers. I should've asked the spare parts guy. But as mentioned he said my car was ex police car and the heat exchanger was different. He couldn't tell me the difference, he did mention there is a mark/sticker that will identify it. I think orange and yellow sticker. My guess would be it is bigger internally or something to improve cooling under high work loads????? Cant see why would Ford fit one if there was no difference. I remember back in the days the XD 351 four speed gearboxes had a different gear cluster. Or VK Commodores V8 had Brock heads etc and also had a special radiator kit with a small spoiler/scoop under the front bumper to force air into the radiator. Whilst in the Pilbara in the early 90`s I was involved with Expensive Daewoo in fixing cooling issues for VN Commodores. They where overheating at full speed in high heat. Fun exercise being allowed to drive a police car at full speed down the highway and be legal........So at times, although people say Police vehicles are same as any vehicles of same brand/model etc. There can be slight differences.

Hi All, digging up old post, but cant find the answer anywhere else. I have a 2008 FG XR6T ex Victoria Highway Patrol I think. It is now 13yrs old and done 220kms. So as preventive maintenance I was going to replace the Transcooler. Locally Ford Spare parts has said it different to none police spec. He couldn't tell the me difference, except it is about 30 dollars more and listed for Police Cars. Mine was sold new to Victoria Police. Do FPV F6 have different trans cooler as well? Perhaps F6 and Police pack option share same cooler. Anyone know the differences? Could be a bigger or something like that to cool better in traffic, chasing baddies etc?

Any updates after 3 or 4yrs?

Old Post I know.......... Nearly 10 years old. Does any one have the rear battery tray still? I just brought an 2008 XR6T ex Vic Police Car, I think it may have been Highway Patrol. Funny thing option is for medium duty tow bar? Only there is no tow ball etc. Just a plate with two bolt holes? Why would they need a tow bar? Its Ego Grey in colour, is there anyway to find out if it was country or town car??
