  1. Had a hard time finding suspension info for the Territory as most posts are for Falcons. Find some posts on Shockworks and looked them and and decided to order a set for the Territory. Looking forward to how the preform.
  2. I have just upgraded the Territories front end with the SY2 front end only to find that the front drivers side wheel hits the guard. Took the car for a wheel alignment and it looks like the front springs have been cut and the top of the front wheels are angled towards the car so they clear the guard. They said if they correct this the wheels would be hitting the guards more often. So it is time to replace the front suspension and would like to discuss options for this upgrade.
  3. What I find hard to comprehend is that alot of Fords have there mid muffler deleted and they are happy with the way is sounds. There is no doubt that my car sounds bloody sweet but I would expect mine to not be as loud as it has a hotdog compared to others that have a only a straight pipe. As the car would be our main family car this is the main reason quiet it down. Seems like I will have to take a chance with generic muffler as there is no direct replacement for the factory mid muffler.
  4. I did not consider that the stock option could be half rusted. I expected it to be that easy to get a muffler for the car. I am stumped as to why it is not that easy.
  5. I did not. Reread my post If no one wanted a mid muffler a company would not be investing time and money to create one. Wreckers would be over stocked with mufflers and I would have no need to post here. Your original post was pointless regardless off adding further information. I assume that due to turbo territories age that Venom has seen an opening for supplying a direct fit mid mufflers. As I stated in my post. I was looking at other options besides what you mention here. Generic muffler would be my last resort. I thought I spoke to people in the know and they were unable to suggest a muffler for my territory. The closest I got was too get one built or modded. This is why I decided to post here to help me make a better informed decision and hope it helps others in my position.
  6. In order to not get pointless posts like above looks like I will need to provide additional information. I have contacted Ford for a middle muffler but they want $650 for it. I have rang many wreckers and they do not have any. While most ford owners know about deleting mid mufflers. Sourcing a stock muffler to reinstall is a challenge. Venom Exhaust stated that they are having problems sourcing mid mufflers and were not able to recommend a off the shelf muffler to install. They are currently in the process of testing mid mufflers but this will take some time. Tuner has suggested to reinstall ford mid muffler. I suspect that tuners are familiar with the original mufflers and there can be no questioning of the noise level.
  7. I have a turbo territory that has had its mid muffler replaced with a hotdog. As I mainly do highway driving the drone is just too loud. I have been chasing a original mid muffler but have had no luck yet. What are my options besides just installing a no name muffler?
  8. I have changed the ball joints in my BF ute as front end was making noises and steering had slight play in it. While it is a improvement the cars steering seems to have the same issue as the territory but getting worse. Unlike the territory I am able to see the shaft to the firewall and hear it making noises. I will further inspect the territories shaft on the weekend. Thanks for your good directions.
  9. After 2 front end specialists looked over my territory and could not address the clunking in the front end. I decided to upgraded the territory front end with a SY2 front end myself. Previous owner told me that the car had quite a bit of front end work but was quite shocked in what I found when pulling the front end apart. Rubbers on drive shafts were new but incorrectly installed and broken Drivers side 36mm nut that holds the driveshaft was very loose. May I dare say hand tight. Bearings on drive shaft just fell out once removed. Bearings were in very bad condition. Wheel bearing made no noise but passenger side had quite ALOT of play in it. Driver side bearing had slight play. All ball joints were in poor condition. Front saddle has had all bushes replaced. that's a win. Work completed. SY2 Front knuckle hub and ball joint New wheel bearings Caster arms bushes and ball joints Lower control arms and bushes Upper ball joints Drive shafts Front diff oil change Took it for its 1st run today and feels ALOT nicer to drive and is a pleasure not hearing noises from the front end. While the steering is a huge improvement it still has some slight play in it that I would like too address. I know nothing about steering and would like some advice as to how best to tackle my next task. Cheers in advance.
  10. Thanks for that. Just you tubed the slide hammer and its a great tool. cheers
  11. How do you remove the inboard CV bell from the transfer case.
  12. Hi, I have been watching on you tube how easy it is to remove front drive shafts out of a territory. I have not been able to get the front drive shafts (inboard CV bell in the transfer case) out of the transfer case. Is there a trick to it that I am missing? Whats a good front driveshaft replacement for a non turbo? Is it a option to dismantle and remove the driveshaft leaving the inboard CV bell in the transfer case?
  13. I plan to install new plugs and coils but I am not sure if this is the cause of the over boost fault. Besides getting it tuned, what else can I inspect while the car is in pieces?
  14. Put around 3-5 PSI in the actuator and it worked fine. After I tested I thought that I should of tested the actuator with the wastegate on. Unsure what the next step should be.
  15. We bought the car so I can do some work on it but I got cold feet as I have not worked on cars in 25 years. My problem is that I know nothing about turbos. I am learning fast considering I never knew what a plenum was not long ago I pulled off the turbo today so this has boosted my confidence and I look forward to do some more mods on the car myself. I hope to put together a final list this week.
  16. Just removed the turbo and the actuator is moving freely. I am unsure how to test the actuator for faults. All the exhaust bolts and the manifold bolts to the turbo housing were all loose but was not able to hear exhaust leaks under the hood. Not sure if this has a effect over boosting.
  17. I worded some parts of my post badly and did not explain myself clearly. I will use the nizpro stage upgrades to better explain myself. GT-T Stage 1 The standard Ford Territory is a great starting point due to Ford starting with the same engine specification as the F6 Typhoon and Tornado. With engine management recalibration and the removal of the factory exhaust restrictor your 245kW Turbo Territory will now have 305kW’s. This is one of the best power vs dollar upgrades on the performance car market. Performance 305kW I believe this what my TT should have or will have when it is taken in for a tune. I should not push this past 270kw? GT-T Stage 1+ As above with the extra inclusion of Nizpro’s market leading front mount intercooler kit. This amazing intercooler lowers intake charge temperatures by up to 50 degrees C. This intercooler kit is also utilised when upgrading to GT-T S2 spec. Performance 347kW This would be the next logical step for the TT. For reliability what other components would need to be upgraded such as gearbox, axles and so on for? GT-T Stage 2 This performance upgrade features the heavily proven Nizpro Stage 2 Cobra Kit. With its new intake manifold and shortened air induction system, throttle response is greatly improved. This kit is the most complete upgrade for the Turbo Territory on the market. Performance 370kW This would be the goal for the TT but would like to know what other weak points of the car would need to be addressed so I am able to work out a total cost of the upgrade.
  18. Hi Guys, TT currently has a suspected wastegate issue and will be dynoed for a health check up. We are currently researching what other upgrades to do. TT was built in 2007 and has 105k on the clock. TT has a new exhaust, extra hole in the air box and has been tuned. This has been completed by the previous owner. TT sits in the garage and gets taken out now and then. While there is alot of information on performance mods. I am struggling to find information as too what power levels other components will need to be upgraded such as gearbox, axles and so on. As we live in the country, reliability is high on our list. The current upgrades we would like for the TT are a gearbox oil cooler and a turbo line oil filter. The next logical step would be to upgrade the intercooler but what effect will this have on reliability? Would other non engine components need to be upgraded? We are not sure if we should upgrade the TT in stages or all at once. The plan is to upgrade the TT and balance reliability and performance. Cheers David
  19. Too sum up.... Purchased a 2007 territory and do not know who the tuner is or what exactly has been done to the car. Under heavy acceleration in 1st gear and just before the 2nd gear change the car would splatter and lose power and it felt like it had run out of fuel. This splatter and loss of power did not take place while the A/C was on. While driving at a constant speed I noticed that the car would slightly go faster and then pull back. This going faster and pulling back happened a few times within 30 sec and this problem has only happened once. As advised by k31th I bypassed the boost control solenoid and this stopped the car from splattering and losing power between 1st and 2nd gear change. Thanks for your input and help. What would you suggest my next step me?
  20. Completed this and the car did not fault. But I have also noticed that the car did not fault when the A/C was on. Switch the A/C off and the car faulted. Also noticed that then the car was being driven at a constant cruising speed that it sounded like the turbo was kicking in and the car going faster then cut out and cut back in again. This has only happened once. Not sure if these are related or other problems.
  21. I find it odd that the car preforms worse now. that's why I questioned if I done it correctly.
  22. I removed the pipe from the nipple at the front of the turbo charger and connected it to the westgate actuator. Is this correct?
  23. I bypassed the boost control solenoid and under light acceleration the car lost power and splattered. I rang up who I was led to believe to be the tuner and spoke to him about the cars performance. He said he was just the person doing the RWC and dose not have a dyno!!
  24. Thanks, I will give that a try tomorrow. I worked a fair bit on Fords 25 years ago so this is a very different experience working on the Territory
