So I blew into the wastegate line and its not leaking at all then I plumbed it up so the wastegate goes straight to the intake but its still cutting. So does that mean it wouldnt be anything to do with overboosting or tuneing if it still does it when its plumbed straight to wastegate

Ok sweet excuse my noobness but just to clairify, I hook the line coming out of the compressor straight to the wastegate right? Deleting it from going to the bov aswell?

So im guessing if I had used a stock turbo I wouldnt of had to tune? Is there anyway to cut back on boost myself?

So cut a long story short I brought a xr6t ba with a blown turbo. Whacked on ar.50 front ar1.03 rear gt35r turbo replacement. And away I went. But when boosting im getting that traction control cut feeling but its not traction control. Any tips on what it could be? As per pic all the stock air filter and intake piping has been deleted ( sounds bad ass btw but temporary ) the car never came with the original intake gear I cant chuck it back on to see if that could be the problem. I noticed it boosts alot harder getting air straight from the turbo instead of the filter compared to stock xr6ts iv had, could that be the problem or could the problem be because iv got a ar1.03 rear instead of the stock .73? The reason im considering it is because here in nz I cant a stock one second hand youd be lucky to find one here. Wasnt looking for moral support just had questions, clearly you read past them cause you failed to answer any of them. Thanks though will check out areoflow

So got a few questions I washoping someone could clear up, as im contemplating buying a ebay turbo because I cant for the life of me find a gen 2nd in nz, and I cant justify spending 2600 on a car that cost me 2500 1- does this more exspensive turbo seem like a bad idea? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/153156652916 I notice rare spares seem to sell these same ones with their price marked up so could it be all that bad if rare spares sells it? 2- are Garretts made in china or usa? 3- can a cheap turbo damage your engine? Whats the chances of it damaging engine parts if say the bearings go 4- has anyone ran an ebay turbo with good or bad results? Any help greatly appreciated cheers!

Yeah I have a ring spanner on snug and the leverage I had seemed night and tight. Maybe I stuffed up by not soaking it with crc first

I ended up ripping the gloves off in anger and skinned my knuckles a few times from then onwards😂 even jump in the engine bay n had my foot pushing down on the bigger spanner I had locked onto the smaller one for leverage, just wouldnt crack though. Seemed excessive for the bracket bolt to be on so tight for that one bolt but im sure they had a reason🤷‍♂️will get a set of those spanners and see how I go. Cheers guys

Were you able to get a pole onto it for leverage? Every other bolt was easy as but this one was a headache that the hardest to reach one was hardest to crack, guessing I dont need to put the bracket back on when I put on the new turbo?

Does anyone have any tips on removing the manifold brack bolt closest to the firewall? I have everything off ready to go but cant for the life of me crack this bolt, can only get a ring spanner in there, locked a larger spanner on the 13mm spanner to lever it but it will not budge no matter how much weight n lever I can get with the space given, any help appreciated cheers

I cant hear a hissing noise from what I think is my ac pipe, iv sprayed water on it but can see any leaks bubbling, is this normal do you think or would it be a definite leak, im guessing replacing this pipe is something I shouldnt do myself?

So would you say its a sign the turbo is on its way out? Kinda sounds dry like it needs lubrication

I have 2 xr6ts, ones a ute with 140kms but when I turn it off I can hear the turbo rollings like a grinding for ages then I have a sedan with 270km but the turbo makes no noise when I turn it off. Both xr6s have no shaft play. Is that rolling grinding noise a bad sign?

Well I got the strut out easy enought but once I got it out I relised that the guy I brought the springs off has given e series springs, so I had to put the strut straight back in. Was good fun. Thanks for your help anyway guys espically you pelican pen*s

Well so far im stuck on the littke headless bolt on the computer. Any ideass how to get off lol

Aw sh*t that's a worry cause mine are king springs, second hand ones though and I think super low not just low but I really want to be able to get them back in. As far as I know only essential service deliveries are taking place. I thought that I would completely wrap the strut up in a think drop cloth laying on the ground and undo it with a air ratchet

Everywhere here in newzealand are lockdown and they arnt considering any public stuff except food an essential to us at the moment. So im guessing I need to be able to compress the springs to remove the whole strut? Also I dont have a rattle gun but I do have an air ratchet. I have some g clamps but I dont think they will do much good. Will the superlows go in easy enough with me needed to compress then? So im gueesing I could undo the top center nut that holds the spring pressure while using the jack under it to hold the pressure then slowly release the jack done so my springs no longer captive then pull it all out?

Can anyone tell me if I csn remoce front springs from a ba xr6t ute with compressors? I have some super lows I want to put in but since nz is on lockdown I cant go buy spring compresors... will I be slgood without them do you think?

Would the best option be to relocate the battery to the otherside then? And run a pip further out for the pod filter? Got any pics of sone good set ups by anychance?

Wanting to put a mushroom filter straight to my turbo so it sits infront of it? Anyone done this? What sorta pipe and size did you use? And what size mushroom filter? Or is there a better option out there without relocating battery? Appreciate it if ya show me some pics for ideas fellas👍👍

Iv got a 351cleveland build going on, first time putting together a clutch and bellhousing and at the end when I put on the cyclinder I noticed this huge ass gap... is this normal?

Would it just be the yellow terminal plug that needs to be redone or would I need to do both yellow and white
