  1. Managed to find a second hand built tailshaft. Just needed a new uni and pinion yoke and it was good to go. A bargain really at only $600. Also picked up some f6 seats for cheap. They feel a bit comfier and look and feel like they have more support than my leather xr seats.
  2. Got the centre bearing replaced and snapped the middle cv 3 days later. Called Gibson and they definitely have the most competitive price. Weighing up some options before I pull the trigger
  3. So GJ will be $2100 for a manual shaft Gibson is around $1700 pending me telling them the size of my diff flange any other places I should look at? Cheers for the advice
  4. that's the cheapest quote ive got now. that's with 1350 uni's throughout and a billet diff yoke and output shaft yoke. God carbon shafts are only $2500... If someone can point me in the right direction for a shaft that would be swell
  5. Just spoke with my mechanic and he will be able to sort it. Good band aid fix till I can afford a $2000 built shaft haha
  6. I thought the fg shafts wern't serviceable like the ba/bf ones? Correct me if I'm wrong because that will be an easy fix
  7. Sorry for the late reply, have been flat out. This is the sheet with high boost. We decided to pull a degree of timing out to bring it back to a respectable 525kw on high boost. Honestly anything more than the 14psi setting on the rotary switch from the haltech is silly. Pretty much spins every gear with ease Clutch fried itself within a few days so I had DCS rebuild it to a new spec. It only has 2200lbs of clamp going in. Got them to upgrade it to 2900lbs of clamp. A hell of alot more bite in it. Got it ran in before powerplay Brisbane a few weeks ago. Car ran like a top before the tailshaft decided to clap out after I got home Upon Closer inspection looks like centre bearing in the tail shaft let go so it looks like I'm up for a built shaft. Is there any way to band aid fix it so I can drive it without just getting a whole new shaft?. I have herd several things about changing the centre bearing and it being like $1300 to do. Any advice is appreciated Lets just say the car boogies now that's for sure
  8. Enjoy some dyno action 83919307_2673656596053581_7334943301769258491_n.mp4
  9. Alrighty so got the ute re tuned with the new haltech and injectors. Had a problem with the original haltech and had to get it sent off to be repaired under warranty, what are the odds eh. I had Jamie at Forced Performance work on the final tune. It made 535kw and 970nm at only 20psi. Super happy with it now. Jamie was able to sort out a few of the gremlins I was having and put in a rotory switch to adjust boost on the fly. Picked up a new IC7 Dash which is a really cool bit of kit. Thinking either my clutch or stock tailshaft will be the next thing to break haha Will post up some pics soon, stay posted.
  10. Not initially but have plans to do that in the future. Not sure at this stage If I will stick with the twin pierberg setup or go with one of the twin walbro 460 setups. still weighing up some options for that. Will definitely be talking with my tuner for the best approach with this
  11. So a bit more of a progress update... Got sick of a few of the gremlins I have been having with the PCMtec tune I had. We believe it stems from issues relating to the manual swap so the PCMtec software is glitching etc. I'm not trying to give them a hard time or anything as the tuning abilities is awesome but it just wasn't for me. I pulled the trigger on a Haltech Plug and Play ECU w/ onboard Wo2 kit as well as a flex fuel kit. As I was maxing out the injectors with the previous tune I opted for some Stainless Bosch Motorsports 1650cc injectors. Bit of an expensive investment and in some peoples opinions a waste at the power levels I'm sitting around, but the safety features and the ability to troubleshoot all of my gremlins I think its worth while. Also looked into getting a gauge setup but for what I was after it was going to be around $1k... So ive ordered one of the new Haltech IC7 display dash which should arrive Tomorrow. Tune is booked in for late next week. Lets try not to throw a rod in the process
  12. Here are some sheets and some more progress photos Fresh new 4" Vband dump with a flexi Bit of fab work progress Big pumps Anddddddd, the current setup finalised
  13. Alrighty so finally got everthing buttoned up with the ute. Had all the fab work done and just got off the rollers at Profile Yesterday morning. Made a stout 472.6rwkw on just 20psi. Maxxed out whatever injectors are in it (Previous owner installed) so will upgrade to some big boys later down the track. Super happy with the result and feels a hell of a lot quicker than it did in its previous iterations. I will post some more progress pics and the dyno sheet soon. Absolutely stoked, hopefully with some injectors and a nice cool day it might just see that 500kw mark.
  14. Few New Parts have arrived and are mocked up ready for some fab work next week Enjoy a few progress Pics
  15. Do you have any details on the part numbers I need to make one of those puppies? Doesn't seem to be many places I can just buy them from as is. I will need to make one up
  16. So I had the Ute running pretty well for the last few months, hadn't had a chance to do the re tune due to my current workload. Anyway long story short the turbo in line oil filter was got clogged with something and starved the turbo of oil. So bye bye to the old 3582r. Just one of those sh*t happens things as well as an old filter. Won't be doing that again. The sensible thing to do would be to do a simple upgrade and get a gen 2 gtx3582r. But hey you only live once and I decided to do a high mount because why not. Yes I know you don't need one for these power levels, but they do look the tits hanging off the side of a barra The new setup will include a Vband 6boost manifold, Gtx3584rs Vband in and out with a 1.01 rear housing (Smaller because the car is manual and I hate lag), 60mm Gen v Turbosmart gate and that second peirberg pump I was talking about. Going to get a dump fabbed up so that I can plump the gate back into the dump or twist it, Cap the gate inlet to the dump and run it to atmosphere. Other than that I just have to sort out a new oil and water feed lines. Just a question regarding the oil and water drains. What size do people recommend to run? -10 lines or what? That's really the only thing I am Unsure of as the stock ones won't work. Should be a nice setup when its all tuned. Looking to do that new PCMtec software to be able to select tunes with the cruise control buttons.
  17. Yea did a comp test as a pre dyno inspection 1-204, 2-198, 3-202, 4-200, 5-202, 6-203psi Clint at profile in Brisbane is tuning it. He said there is practically no boost control with this gate setup and said it spiked to 26psi and he was off it straight away Managed to pick up another stock exhaust housing to get modified so ill look at doing that soon
  18. So haven't updated in a bit. First time I went to get it tuned was having some mad issues getting the SCT to pick up the ecu, had to get ford to flash it so that it would register the vehicle info. Got that sorted eventually and went back to the dyno. I was only able to bet a base line tune due to some overboosting issues from the xrturbo developments gate as well as some fuel pressure issues. I've got a 4500rpm limiter on it at the moment to help control it. If you have seen the xrturbodevelopments kit the gate comes off at a 90 degree angle and really doesn't flow well. I was hitting 24psi at a little over 4500rpm then it was creeping to 26 pound on 98oct. Scary sh#t for a stock bottom end if you ask me. Plus there was a lack in fuel pressure under boost. Definitly not ideal conditions. I have to sort out if the pump is faulty and or look at putting another pierberg on the surge. As for the external gate I'm going to get another made up in the next few months which is in more of a tear drop fashion so that I can get some boost control back. Other than that its running great, but only running around that 300kw mark as we speak.
  19. Alrighty so, Got the ute back a little over a week ago now. We decided to put a run in tune on it and drive it around for a week or so to see if any little issues develop regarding the manual swap as its a pretty big process. I have done over 1200km in it over the last week and love it. I dropped it back off to the shop to get some adjustments in the Clutch and to get the braided wastegate line and screamer adjusted. Its now booked in for the middle of next month to get its dyno tune. I will likely just park her up in the shed and use my daily for the next month. I have to say I am more than impressed with how the manual drives and feels compared to the auto. I haven't opened it up for obvious reasons (I don't want a visit from Rodney) and I won't until its tuned properly. Here are a few photos of the rig, the pic with the ladder racks was just before all the mods began Here are a few of the goodies that went into the uterus Few things I have noticed as well, Screamer is stupid loud, I totally get why they call it a screamer now tr6060 roll over noise is trash the 4" xforce is not overly loud or dronney for daily use more to come
  20. Alrighty so small update. So we finally sorted the diff issue. So pretty much the pinion coupling from the auto diff wasn't the same as the turbo tail shaft. Not even ford or hardy spicer could bloody find one. Managed to pick up a 3.73 LSD diff out of a sedan which worked with minor shimming. Took forever to try and find them. Anyway, Had the diff re build by a local bloke and he did a great job at a reasonable price. Now we have that back and its all in and fitted. I am told that the car is being dropped off Wednesday morning and will be tuned in due course. Also had to get a Plaz Fuel Rail for everything to work smooth. Also managed to get rid of the dirty Simmons for some G6E Turbo wheels, I tell ya they look pretty smick on a Ute. Offset isn't the best but hey doesn't look too bad. Will upload some pics (if I can figure out how) soon. Fingers crossed I can get it back soon
  21. Yea Can't say its the best looking car off the showroom floor but it will be interesting to see what people will do with it. TBH the mark IV supra wasn't that sexy of the production line either, but I do wish that they took some nostalgic design ques from the mark IV. Wonder who will be the first to barra swap it? Theres a US company taking orders to do a full 2J conversion for them
  22. Yea got an fpr1200 on there which should do the trick. Down the track I might look into some bigger injectors, fuel rail and a frr2000 with the second pierburg. But for now should be more than enough power for stock internals for the most part. Since I need to sort out this diff issue I think I am just going to do it properly and get the manual turbo diff with 3.73 gears. I would be doing this in a few months anyway. I know what you are all probably thinking and that's that I change my mind heaps haha, I do. Trying to do this properly whilst trying not to break the bank or cut corners, its a fine line as most of you know.
  23. Yea as Kittens speculated didn't get to the tuners that Friday. Ran into a few issues with the sandwich plate having different mounting holes for the starter, Had to just get a new one from ford because no one local had it. Of course with my recent luck ran into another issue in the final stages. The legitimate last step for this build before it can leave the shop and head to the tuners is the tailshaft. The diff end of the shaft is too small. Looking into just getting a drive line shop to replace it with a pinion flange to fix my issue. Could also have something to do with the factory 2.73 lsd diff and not the 3.46 that the manual utes came out with. I have plans in the near future to get a built tail shaft and replace the auto diff with a manual. Hopefully I can try to get this closed out this coming week, Been pretty hectic with work so the ute hasn't been high on my priority list. Getting excited to share the results with everyone when (if) if ever gets tuned haha, have a good week fellas
  24. You’re on the money mate, knowing my recient luck 😂
  25. Alrighty so The car will finally be tuned tomorrow at Profile. All is going to plan at this stage, Had troubles getting it booked in anywhere with QLD powercruize last weekend. So we will hopefully see some numbers tomorrow. I will do a little writeup on the whole thing and put it into a different thread once I have an actual figure. Keep in mind I don't really care what power it makes because anything over 400 is going to eat my stock tailshaft and rear end. Anyone who wants to guess last min figures for fun post them up!
