  1. You'll be ripping in no time Dan with that set up.
  2. Thread mine I know. Are the AU Ute Tidy the same as FG?
  3. Oops, sorry, that was a big FUBAR from my end, but car was performing flawlessly for 6 months before I started having issues. All good now.
  4. Just thought I would follow up and finalise this thread. Well, as the car and tune was standard except for the X Force Turbo back exhaust, it worked without issues until the cooler weather arrived, then it started playing up/over boosting. I put a stock exhaust back on now so no more problems and the car is working perfectly, so thanks to all for your help and advice. Cheers
  5. Now now gents, don't go importing too many Barras, before you know it, half of the USA will want them to replace their LS.
  6. Don't know what I'm more impressed with, the car or the hoist? Looking forward to updates.
  7. Cruise, race and enjoy. She's a beast.
  8. Epic as usual, can't wait either.
  9. Plugged the Forscan in and got: "Connection to vehicle has been established, then a header come up saying: Unable to identify vehicle, if PCM has a custom tune installed, please enter strategy/calibration name or part number of FACTORY PCM (ex.5L3A-12A650-AYH)" I've been in a few Standard XR6 Turbos and this this feels very very healthy compared to them So, as I cannot find if the vehicle has been tuned, I assume I should just take it to a Tuner and go from there? Elite Automotive or Profile Autosports for those in SE Qld or any other recommendations? Prefer south of Brisbane or Gold Coast.
  10. Sorry for the newbie questions, I'm new to the turbo scene.
  11. I decided to buy a new solenoid just for peace of mind even though the old one was working fine, installed the new one, all good for a week and now the same symptoms. Put the old one back in and same. Will be good for a couple of pulls, then no boost. Turn off and restart engine, then maybe 1 pull or several and then no boost again. I now think it may be wastegate actuator, but why is it when I restart the engine I get boost again? Doesn't that point to electrical rather than mechanical failure?
  12. How did you go Dan? I'm going to the wreckers tomorrow for some bits n bobs.
  13. I'd be replacing that serpentine belt too if I were you.
  14. Oh wow, didn't even realise that the sedan switches fit ( the actual size of the unit) until now. Let us know how you go, as no auto down is a pain as have been used to it for the last 20 years. Do the illuminated switches work in our Utes?
  15. Indeed arronm, after I sprayed by boost solenoid, had nothing but problems as outlined in this thread.
  16. Bypassed the boost solenoid and what do you know? Boost and for days, pass after pass on a private test track, in Mexico of course. Will clean the solenoid with contact cleaner and test as was informed elsewhere, if that doesn't work I will just buy a new one, but for now, I am so relieved that the problem has gone and so grateful to all the champions here. Thanks Gents.
  17. So arronm you think it is the solenoid? Was about to pull the trigger on this, https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GENUINE-FORD-WASTE-GATE-SOLENOID-BA-BF-FG-MK2-FALCON-SX-SY-TERRITORY-TURBO/221833362489?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649 it's the same as you posted I assume? Will get an answer once I bypass the solenoid and take it for a run.
  18. So if I bypass the solenoid and it works OK, that will point to the solenoid being faulty and to install a new one?
  19. Hey all, I have had a great run so far with my XR50T Ute performing flawlessly Was doing a few maintenance items on my ute the other day and decided to do the wastegate/boost solenoid trick spraying it with WD40. I used thishttp://www.3inone.com.au/products#silicone and was fine for a few days. Now, when I floor it all performs normally when I get on boost, but when I try to get on boost again the motor just labours and struggles to rev (still revs smoothly) but there is no boost. No check lights come on when this problem is occurring. It will not get on boost again until I turn the car off and start it again, then will get boost for 1 or 2 pulls then same thing occurs until I restart the engine, which to me points to something electronic not mechanical. When no boost is occurring the car still runs OK, just about the 1/4 of power of normal. I've put air through all the ports on the boost solenoid and all flow air. Should I run a hose from the actuator to turbo direct (bypassing the solenoid) to see if the problem re-occurs to rule out the solenoid? Would it be a boost solenoid, wastegate actuator, flapper, or something else entirely?
