  1. Great movie, brought back many memories. Fell in love with the Camaro I think the one on one fighting scenes could've been shot better.
  2. Great Cruise Guys! Thanks Phil! The mountain was a great experience and I give the pro's lots of credit for making it look so easy coming down the mountain at the speeds they do. A great day out and was suprised how good my car felt around the twisties. It was also fun cruising with the pack of sti's from the mountain to sydney. Phil hurry up with the photos!!!!

  4. it will weight approx the same from the reports though we'll have to wait and see. Engine weighs the same corvette gearbox is 2kg lighter. It would have at least 300rwkw maybe even upto 320rwkw, anyone know what the corvettes run stock on the dyno in the u.s? My (stock looking) 427rwkw 1770kg Phoon is on stand by for attack!!
  5. Just dropped into to the newsagency had a quick read, 7.0ltr engine. No details on body but will reportedly using some of the corvette gear eg. drivetrain
  6. Where really up the creek with the New Wheels magazine reporting on the new VE GTS 427 385kw to be here in October 2007. It is offical that 100 to 150 of these will be built and one has already been down the production line to test its dry sump clearance to the Cross member. It will have a completely revised driveline and with 620Nm of torque is expected to be by far the fastest Australian production car ever built. With genuine 12 second quaters expected and a $120 000 price tag it will be as fast as a M5 at half the price. Expensive Daewoo Dealers have had an idea about it for a while and have taken deposits on them already. The first prototype was a white VE GTS that went down the line to see if any of the componets would effect assembly as they are different to the normal GTS and had a tag on it DONT REV PAST 4000rpm. PS. If they come out I will be hunting it down and blowing it's doors off in my stock looking PHOON!
  7. Totally agree with F6 Rapid! Been there done that. I think 350rwkw is ideal power wise and cost wise.
  8. I had the fog light surrounds sprayed charcoal also, looks awesome on the rapid as it will on the octane. I had a fog light surround come off, fruad warranty said no so I told them where to go, went to a local panel beater got the surround ordered and then got them to spray both and glue the plastic where the screws are just in case. Though on a weekly basis I like to give the fog light a light hit to keep them in their place, my cars lowered and driving out of a steep driveway hit the front bumper and heard the surround pop and fall out and it was a bit embarrasing picking up a part of your car that's fallen off and ppl are looking at your new car!
  9. I've got mine on the top right end of the dash, it's easily accessible looks good where it is and I can see what boost I'm running and can easily hit the fun tune while I'm punching through the gears.
  10. We criticise because we expect more afterall we are cosumers of the FPV product and what was on offer didn't excite existing and future FPV buyers on this forum. We criticise becuase we expect more and are happy to pay for the efforts put in by FPV, though now we can look past the "so called" LE's and look forward to Orion next year!

  13. Sorry to hear Brian! Very unfortunate, just glad it wasn't any worse. A good reminder to all of us, everything happens for a reason. Hope that you complete your project, you deserve to and hope we can see another "one of a kind beast" (hope it's a Typhoon) Bill
  14. I was at CV today and forgot to ask anyway I'll have it all sorted by the end of the year. I've spoken to Johno previously he knows nothing about that engine set up, but he is a freak. Looks like your cars sorted and hoping the xforce has looked after you, 331rwkw is good power just don't let your cousin near it when we go cruising...
  15. Thanks for the info Pete. How much are they generelly as a part and then installed? I have a 950kw atomic bottom end at home so when that goes in so will the oil pump gears.

  19. What I wrote in both cases did take place and there's plenty of witnesses to prove it. Yeah there's a lot bullsh*t on this forum, in my case I log on while at work and if I was to bullsh*t I would just read threads and not post, just love how people are so quick to open their mouth and not think about what comes out of it and shoot others down, anway looks like becoming a donating meber is the way to go or if not stay away from the forums all together.
  20. If I had it again I'd go with the same package because my car won't see much track time and the package in it now is a very noticable change to the factory set up. I've been on a few forum cruises and when we hit the twisties and fast bends it was a pain always having to really slow down, the last forum cruise was much more fun even my wife in the passenger commented on how it made a huge difference. For the street it's a well suited package but if your looking to do some track time then definately spend the extra dollars. You can nver spend too much money on brakes and suspension!

  22. I saw ripfpv on tuesday night just got back from a poker night with my brother. We're out the front of our place and this black VZ guns it past us, my brother reads the plates out, I look at him, my brothers got the xr6t's keys in his hands, looks at me with a smile and before you know it we're driving down the road to catch him at the lights and my brother can't help himself and the driver in the vz agrees we hit a private road, ripfpv sounds the business, I mention to my brother if this guy beats the xr6t get his number cos the phoons gonna have to come out to play. We have two runs both roll-ons first one he gets the jump punching it first and by the time the xr6t spools up he's half a car ahead and it pretty much stays like that, second run both cars launch at the same time and the xr6t sits a car length ahead and that's how it finishes with the vz passenger giving us the phumbs up and exiting the private road. ________________________________________________________________________________ Had a run with an orange monaro with a pro charger kit, 407rwkw and a 10 second time slip, back to the private road rolling from 80kms in second 4000revs we punch it I can see a shade of orange in the corner of my eye when I'm in third as I hit fourth I'm long gone and kept pulling from him. He comes back for another run coz he just couldn't believe how badly he got done mind you at this stage I'm surrounded by a number of LS1's that have put their quickest next to me and for a second time there's at least 10 car lengths by the time I'm about to hit 5th and the LS1 boys and the monaros owner just didn't know what to say apart from "I heard your phoon was quick but f*rk I didn't think it was that quick" followed by me saying "yeah the car goes alright"....hehehe...

  24. I got that package through CV on my BF Phoon also I got them to put on the super low package and it looks good dropped and drives really well. No more hitting the anchors around the bends.
