  1. Hopefully that oil that leaked through that spark plug seal hasn’t caused any other unknown issues.
  2. I finally fixed the issue. I was replacing the coils and spark plugs with original Ford coils and some NGK iridium plugs. When I was removing the coils, I found the coil on cylinder 2 and 3 were soaked in oil and the spark plug well was full of oil. Anyway I got a new gasket kit from super cheap and I then removed valve cover. The old gasket was an absolute pain to remove, took me 3 hours. I put everything back, and I removed as much oil as possible from the spark plug wells and tried it out. At first it gave me the same symptoms on first drive, but since then, it’s been perfect. Maybe there was still some oil in there, but now it’s burnt up. I thought I got it all. Anyway it all works now. The past 3 weeks it started doing it every single time I drove the car, and now no longer.
  3. I haven't found out yet. One of the other errors I get is B2681 (PRNDL Sender Failure). I'm wondering if it is something to do with the shifter or the shifter electronics. I don't know if its the transmission itself as there have been times where the car would not start until I moved the shifter back and forth (not sure what pattern exactly) and it eventually started. I have noticed that when it does go into neutral while I am driving, it's usually while driving at low speed and in lower gears like 2 or 3. Most of the times it has happened I have either been idle at lights or slowly going through a roundabout, and always within the first 10km of driving from start. Mine is a 6 speed and yours is a 5. I am not sure what is common in these as they are completley different gearboxes, so maybe it is an electronic thing? maybe the Shifter mechanism and the way it communicates with the PCM is the same between the 2? I always get the codes below when it happens. P0705 - Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction B2681 (PRNDL Sender Failure)
  4. I have the same issue I think. Sometimes the car will all of a sudden just go to neutral, and it just revs regardless of where the gear shifter is. Usually I have to stop and move the shifter around and sometimes its OK. Other times it may be get stuck in third gear instead of no gears at all like above. Other times the car won't start and only after moving the shifter around it will eventually start. Errors I get are B2681 PRNDL failure and P0705 Transmission Range Sensor circuit malfunction. It is Very intermittent and really cannot determine when it will happen. Usually when it is first driven ffter being switched off for a few hours. I could happen 2 or 3 times a week and then not happen for a month.
  5. Still having the issues. It will happen randomly and it just drops into neutral and won't go into drive until I move the shifter around . This time I also had a Code: P0705 - Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction. (MLP). I took it back to Transmission place and and they couldn't find anything. They check all the connectors and wiring etc and all good. They said it is probably battery, but I did change battery around 6 months ago. I'm starting to think it's the coil packs now. I had a similar issue where the car would display some of the lights on the dash and I would lose speedo. A stop and restart fixed it, but happened intermittently until I changed the coils and plugs around 40000kms ago. I used the VDO coil packs and motorcraft platinum plugs. I have new spark pugs (NGK) already. I'll just get some genuine Ford Coil Packs and see.
  6. The transmission place mentioned something about worn bushes maybe, but didn't confirm any problems with the box. He said it could be the first signs of a problem, and may need eventual overhaul. He didn't look at it for very long (about 45 minutes), but he did scan for codes and checked the fluid levels on the hoist.
  7. Just had it checked by the Auto Transmission place that did the original transmission service 6 months ago, and they found no problems. They check for any error codes and there was none. He also checked the fluid levels and they all were fine. Maybe electrical issues somewhere, but looks like I have to hope it doesn't happen again. It appears to be very random (usually a few minutes after starting), and has only happened 3 times over 2 days. Hasn't happened since first posting on 3/3/19.
  8. I have an issue where my 2007 BF XR6T appears to go into neutral sometimes whilst I'm driving. The car has done 167K It has happened 3 times now. The first time it happened, I was driving to work and stopped at set of traffic lights. When I pressed accelerator, it just revved and did not move. I thought it may have went into limp mode, but it wasn't moving. I moved the shifter to park and back and I eventually drove off. The second time it happened I was actually driving doing about 60kmh backed off the throttle and then went to accelerate again, and it just revved with no power at all. Since I was moving, kept trying to apply pedal and it eventually engaged. The third time it happened briefly while I was driving it sort of just revved out but then drove ok. The car drives fine apart from what happened above. This all happened of the last few days. Any ideas what it could be. I have had the ZF 6 speed serviced with new oil as well as new steel sump pan installed about 6 months ago by transmission place in Parramatta. Could it be the TPS?
