  1. I thought about the Huhmo's.. I did a Google search on them and found that a lot of people weren't happy with them as they had problems with the sidewalls being too soft. So I opted for the Falken's. Cost $320 a corner for 245/45/19. They are an excellent tyre in both the wet and dry. Hope that this helps...
  2. Tell me how to put the thumbnail on there and I'll post mine..
  3. How soon is this going to happen (The group buy)??? I really want one and an exhaust.... But my Clevo will be completed earlier than expected and will have to juggle the budget a bit... I was wondering how long it'd take for a group buy on them..
  4. After a lot of thought and consulting my engine builder... I have decided not to go with a 3 1/2' Xforce exhaust. I have decided to go for a 4' instead. Does anyone know anyone that can sell me in a kit form??? Or do I need on to be manufactured on fitting?? Any help greatly appreciated... Thanks HI PSI
  5. Hey guys.... Just found this while looking for a new dizzy for my Clevo.. Looks promising.. It certainly has potential if it is compatible with our Ems. Looks like it's $309. Which I presume is US dollars. Anyway..... HAve a look for yourself... http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2007/05...hHawk/index.php http://www.shopatron.com/product/product_i...424.0.0.0.0.0.0
  6. Hi mate. Great concept... I already have a Alpine vehicle hub. I had the intentions of running my Toshiba P100 laptop through it, But due to work commitments. This has not happened. Is it possible to run your setup through it? Do you have a rough price for a setup like mine... Keep up the good work mate.... Cheers HI PSI

  10. Hi all. just browsing Ebay when I fond this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-BA-XR6-TURBO-M...1QQcmdZViewItem Xr6 turbo in S.A with sme plates as me.... How can this be possible????? Is this normal to have the same plate combinations between states???
  11. Just thought I'd give you guys a bit of an update on my last post in this thread. Went and got some Falken's fitted . Drove straight back to pedders. They said "All O.K". Went to another suspension shop for second opinion. They had a new Bisbath aligner so I was keen to see idf there were any differences in the readouts. So we set the aligner up. He grabbed his tape measure and measured ride height (Ssl King springs). First hurdle. Ride height had to be specified in the aligner and my car was 10mm lower than lowest height...... Just my luck... Pedders alignment was 0.3 mm total toe So we decided to experiment a bit. the new bisbath aligner has a general guide to suggested settings and maxium toe settings, which had abot 1mm difference. Hence total toe 1mm suggested (2mm max). so we decided to set it to 2mm total toe. Another problem that we had was even with a camber kit. We couldn't get enough camber out of the left wheel. This is not detrimental to tyre wear and he said it may just track a little bit more than usual. 5000 km's later all looks ok. 1mm difference between inner and outer tread so I may take the total toe to 2.5mm total. Has anyone else had similar problems??? or suggestions for other forum members. Just for interest sake the Pedders alignment was 0.3 mm total toe. Just goes to show that good alignres are worth their weight in gold Hope that this help some of you
  12. I have also had big issues with tyres scrubbing in the inside of the tyre. I have king Ssl springs that were fitted to the car when I bought it. It runs a set of 19in 245 tyres. I bought it with 8500 Km on the clock and tyres were severely worn by 15 000 Km. Took it to my mate at pedders and found that it didn't have a camber kit in it. he fitted them evry cheap (Cashie). We rotated the tyres and gave it a wheel alignment. 500k's lates they were down to the canvas. Were fine when we rotated them. NOT IMPRESSED.... So got new tyres and straight back on the same machine for alignment check. All looked goo very minor toe adjoustment needed. not enoght tostuff the tyres like they did. So I got another alignment from another tyre dealer with brand new machine. His aligner did not have corect settings for my ride height.. 10mm too low.. ARGHHH!!!! So we looked at the figures anyway.... even with camber kit- not enough camber on L/H side Noithing drastic or tyre shredding there. We changed our total toe to 2.0. He said "If this doesn't work - raise your car ... "Fat chance. Mat from pedder showed me the distance the wheel goes backward under heavy braking (It does move a LOT) by a quick 30 km - 0 braking display in the Pedders car park. he suggests nolothane buses in front of the wishbone. haven't done that yet but tyers have about 600 km on them and appear to be fine (So far). I know that this is a long post, but I thought that big wheels are to expensive to screw up. I hope that this helps. I will keep you posted......
  13. If they are the right wayaround you will have nice clean BASS. If one is around the wrong way what will happen is what they call frequency cancellation. IE you will have dramatically less bass. easy way to check is use you balance control to go from left to right ( all the way). If one s wrong it will have less bass that the other. I hope that this helps. Cheers..... HI PSI
  14. Go the Alpine hub. It is more expensive but Alpine quality speaks for itself. To add to the posts here - I recently spoke to my old boss Fred Kaerger at Rockhamton car sound only a few weeks ago about the hubs. The boys at the shop had just done a Alpine installation course help by Alpine in Brisbane. He said " When oredering a Alpine hub you have to be specific as to what model and year the car is" as the come with different patch leads and instruction (complete guide and pictures of harness's and plugs). So installation shopuld be a breeze for a reasonable able person. If you have any inquiries contact you local Alpine dealer. I'm sure that they would be more than willing to help. Cheers.....HI PSI
  15. Firstly... Where is your earth to the chassis????? If you ran it back to the battery (Bad) change it. The shorter the earth the better. Run earth under the back seat (Best place toi earth it) drill a new hole, use sandpaper to remove paint and screw earth terminal to the floor. Paint over after screwing it down to stop rust. Secondly do the same for the earth from the battery to the chassis and earth from motor to the chassis. This is a part that is often overlooked. Factory earthing is very poor. I guarantee that this will fix the problem. I did custom car audio installations for 5 years. Seen this problem, so many times. Good to see that you have chosen good products (Alpine) Good luck...
  16. Try this link.. I think that this is what he's talking about. this guy makes fibreglass tyhoon bars and bonnets etc. Hope this helps http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BA-XR8-BOSS-STYLE-B...1QQcmdZViewItem
  17. I'm interested in it too if it's not gone already.... Or, anyone else know where you can uy a 4' dump from????
  18. I did custom car audio installations for 5 years. 90% of all engine noise is due to poor earthing. Another cause is running a high voltage power lead/source beside your RCA leads. This is why good installers run all power supplies for amplifier down the right hand side of the car and RCA's down the left. This is done so you keep you signal as far away as possible from any power sources eg:- brake, blinker wires. Simply run your earth under the bottom of the rear seat. Drill a 1/8 hole, sand away paint ant scew down earth. Paint over when attached. Another cause is difference is potential (resistance) in the earth when running multiple amplifiers. To rectify this just earth all amps at the same point. Is is also good practice to uprage the earth from the battery to the chassis. Good luck guys. hope that this helps
  19. Fisrt thanks for the response guys........ I'm sure you get 100's of question like mine.. I'm from Rockhampton but I don't mind travelling to get a good tune. The car is a 6 speed manual. Are all the bit's needed availabe from FIST???? Do you have a contact number and who do I ask for???
  20. Where is he based????? Does anyone have a contact number?? Just a quick suggestion, but maybe the moderators of the forum could consider having a section on the forum with recommended workshops, suppliers and tuners. It would certainly save lot of questions like mine?.... But it is just that......A suggestion...
  21. Hi all.. I'm a newbi in your forum and I have read as much as possible on your forum so that I don't waste any of your time or my hard earned dollars. I'm looking at getting a new Cooler, injectors and an edit in the next few weeks. Who makes the best cooler? I want nothing but the best for my pride and joy, so I would some advice as to who is the best tuner in Qld. Any advice that you could give me as to where and who to buy the gear off would be greatly appreciated. I would prefer to buy offf companies that either sponsor or who give input into this forum as they should be rewarded for sharing their knowledge and their valuable time. Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.. GR8 forum guys.....
  22. Hi all. This is my first post. FirstlyI would like to congradulate you on you AWESOME forum. It is by far the best forum that I have ever seen. The wealth of knownldge here is absolutely amazing. Getting back onto the topic at hand. I just purchased my XR6T and have decided to do some mods Eg:- Dvd, reversing camera (cause my missus is a scary driver)and a set of Alpine SPR-57LS Splits. Until 2 years ago I was a Custom car audio Installer Based in Central Queensland. I recently sopke to my old boss about fitting a dvd system to my premium system. He told me that Alpine now make a hub that connects to the original system (Screen) and from memory it gives you 2 Av inputs (I will verify this soon)plus a reversing camera option. It is now available and retails for around ! grand. He said that it was reasonably easy to install. He had a few Pics there on Monitors that he had installed in the lower part of the dash (Where the lighter is). I will try to get a copy when I go back to see him in 2 weeks time... This is where I will be putting my Dvd. I really like this option as it gave me more versatility with my system and required as little modification as possible. It will not give me a direct link to post here. Here is a link to the alpine site. On the left hand column in the top of thr grey section is "Vehicle hub" http://www.alpine.com.au/default.html# Hope you find this helpful...... Cheers It looks like it has not been updated yet. I have ordered mine. it should be here soon. I will keep you posted.
