  1. Bit of an update. Took a while, but when in the yard buying the Mrs a Focus Ghia I bought an F6. BF1, auto, black with 5000kms on the clock. Yikes that makes 4 black cars in a row. I must be a sucker for punishment! Pick up tomorrow pm. Pictures to follow. Sad today though, using up the tank of gas on the XR8, window down, listening to the burble. Action stations tomorrow :-)
  2. GMax Defiant fit also some of their others marked with an asterik on their website. https://www.multimediaresourceaustralia.com..._page=dom_ctrl/
  3. Picture the scene, you take the wife and kids to your local Ford dealer to show them a Typhoon and they decide that I really want a TT Ghia instead! More drink holders says the kids!!! So, with a phoon airbox mod, the bung out of the exhaust and a custom tune how fast does one of these things go? Mid 13s maybe? Has to be faster than my slightly modded XR8 or it's no go, that runs high 13s.
  4. I have a XR8 and I vote XR6T. If it's the rush and wave after wave of torque you're after, it has to be the T. If it's the presence and noise get the 8. But you'll have to spend large to get a reasonable car. CAI, full exhaust, diff gears, oil pump gears etc... A reasonably fast car is way cheaper with the T. XR8 soon to be for sale, I see a XR6T in my future.
  5. It seems to be lunch the engine time at the moment! The V8 have been putting pump gears in their motors for sometime now, as the stockers are very prone to failure. Is this something the 6T community should be doing? Are they just as rubbish in the T? My next car will probably be a BF T with a Nizpro stage 2 so should I budget for gears as well?
  6. Test drive on Tuesday. Will test an XR6T straight after. Hoping the F6 will blow my socks off compared to my XR8 (232rwKw) or it will be the supercharger option instead. Which was the original plan. (Waits for XRQTR to post ;-) )
  7. Special price for me Inc ORC
  8. There have been words exchanged! But it's a 'bargain' did not really do the job. Even promised to buy her a slightly used Focus Zetec first !
  9. So, any advice on how I tell the wife.... 'Well darling, you know how I bought an XR6 18 months ago then changed to XR8 12months ago, then spent all that money on it and I know you're driving a 13 year old Toyota.........' Wish me luck
  10. Auto with the rest as standard. No options.
  11. Were there any changes between BF1 and BF2 in the F6? I may have the chance for a brand new F6 for $53000. Choice of colours too, Silver or Conqueror. Is this a chance of a lifetime?
  12. Thanks for the thoughts guys. Am going to look at some phoons to start with. Is the clutch up to it now? If I drag it, which I intend to, how long will the clutch last, no one mention the CVs
  13. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bought my V8 last January, did the usual mods, CAI, full exhaust and flash tune, but she's not hitting the spot for me. Now thinking in terms of the verniers, diff, high stall or blower. Wait on that's a shed more money and I may not get the ride I want! What ride do I want, I want the kick in the back without having to carry a load of speed. She feels fine after 100km/h but below that you need to be charging around in 2nd gear. So, change to a BF turbo with 6 speed auto. Flash tune it and get what I'm looking for? Is that the answer? Things I'd miss, the sound, the bulge, the stripes. The wife hates all three, so I may get some WAF for the change ;-) Thoughts, am I making a big mistake, 'cos I fear I may never own a V8 again! I've also posted this on AFF V8 section. __________________ BA XR8 Mk2 Bluepower 'postal' edit DiFillippo Headers Herrod catback G&D Induction
  14. Ugy put his on last week as well. Mine 3 weeks ago, maybe we're starting a trend in NZ.
  15. He had a full tank to aid traction!
  16. My gauge pod arrived today. Very happy with the packaging and the colour fitting instructions. Highly recommend to all. Just have decide which type of Cobalt Autometer gauges to get! Apart from Egauges in the US, is there anyone else who sells them for a reasonable price in AUS/NZ ?
  17. I have a 27mm on my BA V8 and as reported gives a flatter and sharper turn in. Reports from people on another forum (AFF) say that with the rear swaybar the BA has a tendancy to lift the inside wheel, in fact I'm sure I've read that Whiteline do not recommend the rear bar be fitted to the BA. More research would be recommended. YMMV

Nice carpet and crayoning Bill. And a very nice number ;-)
  19. I have a way to go to catch you hairdryer boys up! CAI and headers in the next 6 weeks and then we'll see ;-)
  20. What effect would a higher rpm stall convertor have? PS Hi Ugy!
  21. On my XR8 it sounds soft, even the JB system sounds better. Maybe why the seller is getting a quad setup. Then again if stainless you may pick up a bargain?
