  1. Look down and you will find aonther purple headed warrior ! My brother inlaw used to work with a guy called Matthew Matthews. His nickname was double up. Came across another client today with the surname Orifice.
  2. came across another one today, Mostyn. Pretty unique.
  3. Came across some unusual names recently, one client's first name was "Digby" and another had the first name "Potts". Any other unusual names out there?
  4. Finally got those bits fixed today, the oil pipe cost $15.43 it's part number BA9V684A. Yep, I had broken the PCV pipe as well, it was part number AUC6A666A and cost $9.60. Also needed and elbow joiner which was $2.50. The cross over mounts were $12.77 spot on Hanra. Cost $100 in labour though. Anyway it drives much better now and I feel much better driving around, was starting to get worried about it.
  5. Are you using a generic tune? I had a similar problem using the generic 8 PSI tune and as soon as I replaced the spark plugs it stopped. Put in the NGK BKR6EIX plugs, they are about $20 each from repco. Have fun replacing number 6.
  6. Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows what the vacuum hose does? (The hose which goes into the engine behind the cross over pipes) I broke mine and am waiting to get a new one on Tuesday (tried Thursday just gone but ford id not have any in stock). I have noticed a change in the revs, they don't drop during a gear change, does it have something to do with the fuel mix?
  7. Yikes, I'm a little concerned I was allowed to sit on it now. Here's the readout I was given, I have no idea if it is good, bad or indifferent.
  8. To answer comments/Questions 1. Why on Earth did you not post the read out? - I'm at work and don't have a scanner. Hopefully I can do it tonight for you. 2. Didn't they have an air compressor? And what paint was it burning off? - don't know and the paint was from the exhaust. The dude who installed it painted it black. 3. Stepped out a little on the rollers when the car makes 236rwkw? Did they strap it down properly? Ive witnessed plenty of cars making over 550rwkw, and they sure dont "step out"!!!! - Perhaps step out was the wrong term. It moved sideways a bit on the dyno rollers, that is a little scay when you are sitting on the car. It had 2 big clamps on the front and a big chain on the back so I guess it was strapped down properly. My tyres are well worn, just below wear line, getting new tyres on Monday. 4. Bit of advice, 'Do not stand in front of the car'..... - Sounds like there is a story behind this comment. Care to share?
  9. Well, I had my first ever dyno reading today (At Brisbane turbo), that was an experience, seeing all the clamps and chains going on made we wonder what on earth could happen here? That got the nerves going, then the guy noticed that the rear tyres were a bit low and asked myself and my mate to sit on the tailgate while he took the reading. Wow that was an experience and a half!! All sorts of thoughts and scenarios ran through my head. As he wound it up the tyres started to slip a bit and is stepped out a little before settling down, then came the queer feeling of sitting on the back with the engine going flat bikky and not going anywhere, then came the smoke which really freaked me out. The exhaust got hot and began to burn the paint off, as soon as John (the dyno guy) told me that my heart rate dropped by 50%. Anyway, it was a great experience and a great result was achieved, even gave John a surprise. If you have not had a dyno reading, go do it!! It's worth the few pennies it costs.
  10. Yikes, don't like the sound of that. It's getting fixed tomorrow, at ford. My experience with tuners in town has made me believe they would struggle to tune a lawn mower let alone one of these babies. So what is the vacuum pipe sucking up?
  11. Don't know, it runs very close to the throttle body. It goes between the cross over pipe and the engine. When I got the car it was broken, no idea how long for. When I t took it to ford to get repaired, they did not seem concerned about it.
  12. Oops. Silly me was not being very careful when removing the cross over piping and broke the vacuum pipe off!! Also noticed that most of the rubber stopper gizmos were broken too. Also over tightened the other little pipe on the throttle side but that does not really do much. Anyone know what that one is/does?
  13. Well I'm going to stop using the cable adjustment now and do it properly, cheers. Sorry for the initial misdirection.
  14. There's nothing wrong with when the fans kick in, the temp goes back to normal in the traffic. So it's either the thermostat or nothing wrong at all, 'll try the recylce air option to keep my toes from freezing, if that works I guess it would be ok, nothing wrong with a cool engine.
  15. Well, ummm, were do I start? I went for the custom made option as the guy really seemed to know what he was doing. Well it came back very loud, almost deafening at times, the missus hated it and was embarrassed to be seen driving in it. When I lifted the bonnet, lo and behold, there's the original dump pipe!! Dispite saying he would put a biger one on, it turns out he did not know how they went together and could not make one to fit, so he didn't, and didn't bothr to tell me that! After some heated arguments I decided to give up as I wasn't really missing out on too much and this guy was not going to budge. So I got him to fix the noise so it was quieter. He has stuck a resonator on at the end and now (unless accelerating hard) it sounds like the car is farting!! Really upset and angry, at least I have better flow now. Still have to fork out for a cat back system to get a decent note. I'm told the note changes a little over time due to carbon build up or something like that, hopefully that is true and works out ok. Now I know that I should to what I know works well and not to trust others opinons. On another note, the Xfroce website has been updated with some new pics, 1 features a quad tip set up. There's no text for it so I'm not really sure if they make them, worth looking into for the quad tips fans, they look alright.
