  1. If I can throw 2 cents in about 3.5 v 2x2.5- 3.5's have less cross sectional area than a twin 2.5in, but lower surface area to produce drag. So much for muchness between the two. Common sense would dictate that with equal flowing mufflers the twin 2.5 would be quieter, but the sound from the 3.5 would be deeper. So really the choice comes down to note and noise level as to whether twin 2.5 or single 3.5 inch exhaust suits your needs.
  2. Hi guys. Got a BFII turbo ZF 6spd with 140xxx km, running 60lb dekas and an 11 psi tune. All else it stock. Got a dyno run to see how it is all going, and it came back on the low side. 227 at the rears. The readout showed the boost hitting 11psi and instantly dropping in linear fashion until redline where it reads roughly 7psi or thereabouts. For further testing a mate and I hooked up a boost gauge, which affirmed what the dyno run told us. 11psi down to 7psi over the rev range. What we found out furthermore, is on gearshift the boost returns to 11psi and drops again at higher rpm. So if you ran through the gears on the dyno the boost graph would look like a mountain range. I called the dyno operator up, and he seemed to think either the stock dump and cat are too small (tried to sell me his 4 inch dump and high flow cat for a grand), or the stock actuator is worn out and opening under the pressure. Does this sound about right to you learned scholars? From what I have read thus far from others experiences on here, I am thinking actuator. Lastly- is 11-12 psi too much for the stock flapper to control? Thanks for your time
  3. Hi team, Did a bit of a search to find a comprehensive list of the limits to the different parts on the B series XR6T's, nothing came up. There is a sticky on the FG's but they are a different beast. I guess all the info is here on this site individually, but a nice list would be handy. If we could group source the info and sticky it, might help newbies like myself. Been a Fordmods member for a long time, but they don't seem to have as much knowledge in their userbase on the factory turbo sixes as on here. If we could list the parts, and fill in the blanks about what is reliably accepted from the following components: Factory Injectors: I've been told 10psi will push them to their safest limit. Factory Fuel pump: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. Factory dump pipe: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. Factory Cat: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. Factory exhaust: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. Factory wastegate actuator: good for ??? psi, anything more requires upgrade. Factory Wastegate flapper: good for ??? psi, anything more requires upgrade. Factory intercooler: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. Factory piping: good for ??? psi, anything more requires upgrade. Factory valve springs: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. Factory Throttle Body: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. Factory Tubocharger: good for ??? rwkw, anything more requires upgrade. etc etc. That way those newer to the ways of the XR6T can look up what parts are likely to restrict first, and plan an upgrade path, rather than just go about slapping bits on, without the right supporting mods. Thanks in advance for the help.
