  1. There is a lot of talk about using a LPG motor with boost (like on Carnage). But I haven't seen much on running an LPG motor NA on petrol. Since the green tops are higher compression I imagine they would make decent power on petrol with a tune, extractors and a good cold air intake. I'm assuming someone has done this in the past. Could you point me to a thread for more info. Cheers
  2. Thanks for the heads up. You wouldn't happen to know what rims these are, would you?
  3. What rims are these? I love the way these look. I just purchased a 2007 Ute, I live in the US and have to wait 4 months until I even get to sit in it. I want to start getting parts for it now.
  4. Thanks mate. This sump is for a customer I just sold a Barra to. After looking at the final location of the sump plug, I think I will put the sump plug a little lower on the next pan I modify. It looks like approximately 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch of oil will not drain all the way. Not a big deal, maybe a few ounces of oil, but it annoys me lol.
  5. The motor is in position supported only by the motor mounts. Unfortunately I had to notch the oil pan to clear the k-member. The motor clears the sock hood BARELY. I had to notch the oil pan and space the k-member down 1 inch to make it fit under the stock hood, but it was worth it.
  6. The "Final Product" the quotation marks are because these are only used to make a jig. The final product will all be TIG welded and and much prettier, so don't judge these welds too harshly.
  7. It's been a while since I have had time to work on this project. Life keeps getting in the way. Here is the progress I have made this past week. I made an engine leveling plate that attaches to the front of the motor put of some scrap steel I had lying around the shop, and I used simple chains for the back side of the motor. Once I had the motor centered between the frame rails, leveled left to right and tilted enough to clear the bellhousing, all that was left was to make the motor mounts. I know Tuff Mounts makes Mustang Barra motor mounts, but I have a welder, CNC plasma table and way more spare time than I have spare money, so I made them myself. I am also one of only a small handful of Barra importers in the country right now, so offering my own motor mounts is just good business.
  8. NO! In that case, give back the Coyote, 5.4 DOHC, Windsor, Cleveland and the LS. We share with you, and you have had the Barra for 17 years, its only fair you share it with us now.
  9. I am over here in America doing a Barra conversion on a Foxbody Mustang. I plan on using a BF motor with an FG loom and a ZF6 transmission. Can someone please give me a link to a walk through on how to convert a loom to standalone. I have done several google searches and the only thing that comes up is someone trying to sell me a loom that has already been modified. I will be importing these motors regularly and knowing how to modify the loom will make it even easier for me to bring the Barra to America. Thank you in advance.
  10. Thank! I would probably be closer if I actually had some content lmao. I have a bunch of footage of the LS El Camino build I'm working on. So unfortunately my first build on the channel is going to be that and not the Barra Foxbody Mustang. I just found a decent quality free video editing software. So I'll have my first real video up in the next day or so. All in good fun of course.
  11. Big news everyone! I finally have all the equipment necessary to start building my YouTube channel. I have already started filming on one of my projects. I'm in the process of editing the footage I have and will have episode 1 of the 1987 El Camino 6.0 LS swap. I'll have some footage showing me modifying the Barra oil pan for my Foxbody. Subscribe to my channel. Once I have 100+ subscribers I can get a custom URL that will be a lot easier to find. Obviously I am just starting this, so plese bear with me and hopefully my channel will grow fast with good quality car content. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpMeSVPUMtmAOTwFGpSUAJQ?view_as=subscriber&fbclid=IwAR3Gr6Psc2i4sL2aZQ7WnARrnRe4wvLtZU12HPSIaKYN7nsaT3CUCvRjhEM
  12. I'm not sure if this is allowed, if it is not please let me know and I will remove this post. I have several projects going on along side of The Red Stallion. I share the progress of all of my builds on my FaceBook page. Please like and share it with your friends. www.facebook.com/nievesspeedshop/
  13. NEW TOY ALERT!!! Everlast Power Plasma 50s (The green one) fresh out of the box. Dual voltage 110v/220v 50 amp plasma cutter, with a port on the back that allows for CNC interface. I haven't eve plugged it in yet. I'm going to play wit it this weekend. Now I just need my CNC table to get here.
  14. Tell that to the d-bags on the Facebook Barra pages. My god all ive heard is "stock ecu is ::insert pointless comment here:::" I finally gave up after posting this "I AM NOT INTERESTED IN THE STOCK COMPUTER. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN HEARING ABOUT THE VIRTUES OF THE STOCK COMPUTER. JUST ASSUME THAT I AM NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED TO OWN A STOCK COMPUTER. OR I'M ALLERGIC TO THE STOCK COMPUTER. OR ASSUME THAT THE STOCK COMPUTER TOUCHED ME INAPPROPRIATELY AS A CHILD." I should have expected crap responses on the cesspool that is Facebook. I really appreciate your help.
  15. Below is copy and pasted from a thread that I started in another part of this forum. I am posting it here hoping more eyeballs that see this request will result in me getting the needed information. I'm in america working to spread the joy of the Barra to the world. I am working on a standalone ECU for the barra that is more affordable than the Haltech (about half the price). Let me start by saying I LOVE the Haltech, but it is not in my budget and I think I'm not alone. I need some help with this venture. I have already worked out the engine control part of the equation, but nobody want an ecu that will only run their engine and not their automatic transmission. If I cant figure out the ZF transmission control I will be offering an ECU for the 4 speed auto and manual transmissions. I need wiring diagrams and connector pinouts for the 4 speed automatic transmission (I believe its called the BTR) that comes with the BA/BF Falcon. I also need the wiring diagrams and connector pinouts for the ZF 6 speed automatic transmission. I have found very information on the ZF transmissions wiring and controls. I have heard people mention in several threads that the ZF has an internal transmission control unit built into the valve body. Does anyone have details on this? If that is true the wiring would be simple, and probably use the CAN/BUS system to communicate with the ECU. Thank you, in advance, for your help.

  17. Thanks bud. It's slow going with work, school and family spare time is almost non-existent. It helps build suspense I guess lol.
  18. I know someone is going to ask why I modified a BA/BF front sump pan after going through the effort of getting a FG rear sump pan. I decided that I can modify the BA/BF pan without worrying about screwing it up since I have an extra. I have to notch the FG pan also. Doing it this way allows me to make the motor mounts and pin down the engine left/right and front/back. I'll modify the FG pan after the motor mounts are made. This way I cut it once and wont have to tweak it later if the motor mounts create an issue. I am probably being overly cautious but each oil pan costs me $300 USD after its shiped halfway across the world.
  19. I removed a "small" chunk from the BA/BF front sump oil pan. I also removed the front sway bar. Now it fits, even with the steering rack in place. IT FITS! The stock hood even closes (barely but that still counts). I am probably going to space the k-member down with 1 inch spacers. This should improve hood clearance, and help with my drive line angle a little. I'd like to see the motor "tilt" a little forward, nose down another 2 0r 3 degrees. 1 inch spacers are not going to give me any handling issues. I'll be able to adjust the suspension with back into spec. Adjustable coil overs, caster/camber plates, offset steering rack bushings and bump steer eliminators are common mods already really common. I have 3/4" spacers in my 5.4 4V 96 Cobra and it handles like its on rails.
