  1. Happy Birthday Capo!

  2. Hi guys, sorry I missed the wharf lunch (have rellies up), it would have been good to catch up seeing I have been away most of the year. -5 where I have been, forgot how damn cold it got down there. Took the rellies out to Lichfield on Saturday and on the way back had a bloody bird doing 150km/h go through my grill. The bird didn't put up any fight when I found it wrapped around the aircon piping. Lucky no damage other than the grill. Graham, I may see you in NQ next year, moving back down that way in December. I too will miss the speed limit (or lack of) up here. Hope I can catch up with everyone before I leave the NT in December. Capo
  3. Hi guy's, yeah should get together soon. Off to bloody freezing Bandiana for five weeks on Sunday. should do a BBq somewhere after so I can thaw out. Could do a day at the wharf or wherever this Saturday if anyone is interested. Cheers Capo
  4. Sorry guy's, jetboat is all go and they want to use it. Leave tomorrow, get back on the 24th. March seems clear at this stage. Maybe we can get something happening next month as well! Cheers Capo
  5. I'm not sure on how the vents are opened whether they are electric or use the gas in the system. It seemed like the vent went to a point and then snapped open causing the bang, we could feel it through the floor. I thought something was hitting under the floorpan like you have said about your car. Not saying this is your problem but sounds similar. Not sure on how far in Ford went looking for the cause of the loud vent (not in town at that time) but they said the leak was very slow from the radiator area and needed welding. The symptom of the cracked piping caused the passenger side to circulate warm air while the drivers side had cool air. It would change from one side to another after a while, at least I had half a cool car. The vents open normally now, I can hear the passenger vent open fully with no bang. Hope this helps. Cheers Capo
  6. Love to but the wife has to work this weekend, she's been having a big whinge it's too far to walk or ride a pushbike to Robbo so she's insisting she has the car. She said she wanted to get fit, this is the perfect oportunity but she doesn't see it my way. Cheers Capo
  7. Didn't have a clunk but a fairly loud bang which sounded like it came from underneath the car when aircon was turned on (scared the crap out of us for a while). It happened so often I traced it down to the vent on the passenger side when it opened (or so it seemed). The aircon had issues soon after when it split a pipe and lost gas. I told Ford about the bang when I had the piping repaired, they said they found nothing wrong with the vents and could not re-created the bang, I have not had this problem since the pipe has been fixed and the system re-gased. Cheers Capo
  8. Hi guy's had a couple of interesting days. Got a service done at Ultratune and on picking up the car was told I needed a new Air-fillter, thought I must have picked up a lot of bugs and crap on the drive up. Turns out there wasn't an Air-filter in it. Had some warranty work done in Townsville that would have required removing the air intake so I'm guessing it was not replaced when put back on. Next drama happened on Stuart Highway at some stoplights. Pulled up at lights waiting for the green and a small Suzuki shopping trolly pulls up behind me. I watch it stop in the mirror and then go back to watching the lights, next I feel the car being shunted forward. Idiot behind me crept forward until we hit. Blinker on to turn onto a service road to kill this guy and he drives straight on, blood boiled straight away and wife pleaded not to get body parts all over the car. Chased him down (didn't take long) and got him to pull over, didn't realise we had hit was his story. Checked the back of my car and not a mark on it, couldn't even see where we had touched. The tongue for the tow-bar is going back on, I don't care how many times I walk into it. Cheers Capo
  9. Did a run to Lichfield National Park today, I love this open speed limit, getting somewhere doesn't take all that long. The Kakadu run would be great Pete, was going to call in on the way but couldn't remember how to get to your place. Next time I go out that way I'll give you a shout and get some directions. Cheers Capo
  10. 14th for lunch it is, happy to have the other guy's over as well if they are interested. Could do that photo shoot as well, the more the better photo!! 13. G'day guy's, made it to Darwin...car went well ...lot's of dead bugs on the front, the trailer sits well at 150. Move into our house on the 30th so expect a BBQ soon after new year. I'll throw around some dates soon when we are settled and try and get everyone around. Must go cheap beer to drink. Capo
  14. G'Day guy's BBQ at your place sounds good Graham. Anything to do with food and alcohol sounds good to me, (alcohol mmmmm my happy place). Move into my new place 30 Dec 05 so something will be happening there soon too, Stuart Park just off Church St. Did have a house on base but it all fell apart. Mick, took the boat past your work a couple of times but the T wasn't there so didn't stop. Have to pick it up when I get back so I will cruise past and see if you are there. Should be all fixed and ready to rock. Catch up with everyone when I can. Cheers Capo
  15. Hi guy's, back in Townsville getting ready for the big move. I will have the wife and car in Darwin on 23 Dec 05 (if the roads are good). Happy to do drinks or whatever after that. If I don't catch up before Christmas have a bloody good one to you all and I will catch up when I can. Drink and eat as much as you can, if you throw up it just means you have had a touch too much or a bad prawn (that's my theory). See you when I get there. Cheers Capo

    Nt Sunset Cruise

Thanks guy's, just came across this little discussion. I am sure the people who own the boat would be rather annoyed if I went into the night Harbour Cruise business. There is another problem with this....it has two very large holes where a jet unit is supposed to be. Still not fixed, waiting on parts. Hamilton say damage is consistent with about 3 to 5 thousand hours of use, it has only done 500 hours (my bad) must keep out of that very shallow water!!! Going to Townsville tomorrow, yes, get to drive my car again. Probably catch up with the wife as well. Cheers Capo
  18. G'Day Zane, welcome. Can't say I have seen a black XR6 ute, not that I have been looking for one. Saw a black sedan this morning, my second choice!! Will Wave if I see you, be in a Landcruiser but still wave! Wife has the Turbo (bugger). Cheers Capo
  19. Sorry Mick, forgot all about the little girl. Congratulations on the baby, hope all goes well with the wife and new little one. Cheers Capo
  20. Got the message Mick, I know where it is. I will be going past tomorrow (Monday) so I will call in and say G'Day. Have to drag my boat down to Boatland to have the jet unit put back in and will be going that way. Show you the toy they give me to play with, can't believe I get paid to do what I do!! When you see it you will see why I need an F250. Catch you tomorrow sometime. Cheers Capo
  21. Yeah guy's, thanks for a great day. No shame in riding that bus pete, I do it all the time. Mick, I thought I took care of those little distractions quite nicely later in the day, they sure can ask a lot of questions!! Was going to give you all a card so if you wanted to come here for a couple you would have had my number and name for the gate. Work Number is 0428480576 if anyone is near and feels like a thirst quenching ale or two. Cheers guy's we must do it again. Capo
  22. Graham, I will let the gate keepers know you are coming in. When you get through the gate drive straight up the road. You will go past a large building on the right, driving straight ahead you will com to an intersection. On the left you will see a sign HMAS Coonawarra on the right will be two roads, take the hard right. You will then pass the back of the large building you just drove past. As you go past this building again you will see two roads on the left, take the one on the right (if that makes any sense for a left hand turn), this will take you to a large white building with columns at the front. The sign will say WOs and SNCOs Mess. I should be out the front of this building, if not I wont be far away. The killer of low flying ducks didn't come through, I will grab some fish and anything else I can steal from the kitchen. See you around 8. Cheers Capo
  23. Just realised Bathurst is on a Sunday... duh...... must attempt to turn up for work on Monday. Can't stay overnight, no ride in the morning. Will not take swag, will not take too much beer. Must get in touch with killer of low flying ducks to see what he has bagged. Graham, catch you later in the week to let you know where to get me from!!!! Cheers Capo
  24. Have done in two passenger side fog lights, $120.00 fitted just for the fog light. Put on protectors for the head lights and fog lights for $148.00.Plus $48.00 for Ford to fit. Cheers Capo
  25. Graham, be there with bells on.......maybe not..would look pretty silly!!! In Townsville again at the moment (twice this month), got sent down for a conference....how could I refuse with my family down here. Back in Darwin on Sunday and I will (should) be there on Bathurst weekend. I'll keep in touch but I have nothing on the calender until late October. At this stage I will meet you at the agreed time, I will have to get you to pick me up from the Mess, I will have beer, food, swag and bag to throw in. When the occasion draws nearer I will give you directions on how to get to the Mess and let the Gate Keepers know you will be coming in. Just need your name, rego number and you will need photo ID. Cheers Capo
