  1. Nice one thanks. Yes I thought the other two, wondering about any others. Super pro complete rear end kit was 1250$ approx. not too bad. Cheers
  2. I have conceded that yes my centre rear diff bush is indeed rooted. Can I please get some feedback on what other bushes will need doing at the same time. By necessity not desire, re: $ FYI my centre bush is probably score 7.0 on a scale 1 being perfect and 10 being "has disintergrated and now cradle has broken" Also, I already own a superpro c-bush. Looks great on the mantel piece so far. In the meantime I'm just enjoying the violent whack! Sound when changing from 1st to 2nd hard or kicking down ... I told the missus it was cosmetic, merely a plastic trim knocking. What say you, experts ?
  3. Excellent post My g6e won't function in sport or sequential mode. Fuses are are all happy. Before I explore under the shifter do you think I'll find a potential loose terminal (culprit) under there or are the simple wire terminals generally rock solid ?? Go exploring or look elsewhere such as a ZF module fault ? Cheers
  4. I can't get sport or manual mode out of my g6et. Not getting any "perf" indicator on the dash. Also getting a "transmission not in park" message on shut down even though in park. Obviously a sensor issue in the mix there ... but I have one question. If the local Ford dealer plugs me into diagnostics will the diag' identify such errors in the wiring and sensors and the like ? Or will they have to rip the centre console out to find the culprit terminal, trial and error digging around. I'm in Fiji btw so reluctant to let corner cutting heros begin a trial vs error exploring game on my joy. Who dares, wins ? .... not fkn likely. All above on the assumption it's an electrics issue. Seems to be a lot of software issues with ZF but mostly relating to intuitive gear change timing etc (god help the poor facks that own these relics in 20+yrs and try to solve senile electronics that support the moving parts) Appreciate your intel on this query. Vinaka, (cheers)
  5. Cheers Sucker, yes only on shutdown. I suspected a sensor issue. Noted re: battery. Remember I joked about the potholes issue here ... Delicate terminals maybe weren't built for such jarring impacts. ((( have finally educated the mrs about NOT braking into the potholes)) *** memo : iPhone spellcheck on potholes brings up pothead.
  6. I get a "transmission not in park" message but it is in park. Is my dashboard just being sarcastic or is a wire loose or what ? Before you answer that I don't think I can get performance or manual mode on the shifter either. Wiring ajar or a computer issue ? What say you ?
  7. Lol nice pisstake. I'm pretty sure the main ford dealer here will be up to at least the regulation "how to" tuning and diagnostics. The trick is to get direct contact with the best tech guy they have and offer him a bonus (something over the top like FJ$50) to become my G6's go-to-guy. What could go wrong ? Sends a shiver up my spine the thought of 3x Indo-Fijian mechanics taking the stroppy six out for a "test thrash" ... Memo to self: check the Fijian ford dealers public liability and negligence policy. Ps: took the newly on song 6 out after a warm rain shower tonight, less stability control, had a moderate to awesome time and blew a few roadside villagers minds by losing traction at high speed. Hells Bells ! Cheers.
  8. Well don't I feel like a tard. Found the main top side hose fully disconned, took in excess of 90seconds to rectify. G6ET Fiji back on song !! Even on 91. Will take interest if it improves after the system gets on the same page. Now all I need is a pothole defender, these roads can get ruthless.
  9. Good intel thanks senna I will look into the intercooler pipe possibility. Worst frkn line I've searched hi/lo for 95octane and can't get it here. Did some research on octane boosters. Nulon Pro Australia has the best results according to one test of a group of 11 offerings but absolute best improvement was 2.8ron. Not the 7.0 claimed. Fingers crossed for the inter cooler being the culprit, I can't bring myself to pouring a frkn additive in the tank. And yes Fiji highly recommended.
  10. Yeah it has a few nasty scratches actual. I wouldn't trust the colour match over here but. Unfortunately and inevitably, one day far far from now this gem will either be growing grass in some yard around here or will be re powered by you guessed it a hilux 2.4 Deisel ... I shet you not, I've seen so many old wagons re powered that way here. Xa falcon, impala, statesman .. It's a riot. Anyway, will advise any power gain in about a week. See how much 91 the wife can burn off this week. I'm too guilt ridden to do it myself. Thanks for the feedback Onward !
  11. Cheers benno I will run it right down then fill 95. Unfortunately the grade here is just shyte no matter what. 98 ? I doubt it but will ask around. There are very few top fords here. Some late model fairmonts, an old au2 xr8 and an ea xr8 that's about it. Plenty of v8 commodes around. Even a dodge ram, new challenger and a 356 Ferrari. And of course the usual beemer brigade. Everything else is a hilux. As you can imagin,e I lust for this g6t to have its full wingspan available ! Will advise ... Why buy this car ??? Apart from the obvious reaction being wtf ... If someone offered you a 32000km g6et for 17$au ... I'm sure you would be flopping out the cheque book quick smart too. Octane booster I can probably import easily. It's worth the effort. Cheers , Vinaka !
  12. Ahh good question. 91 unleaded And nasty Fijian stuff full of additives. In pretty sure I can get 95. Will let you know how it pans out. It runs smoothly as is on the 91 but lame on boost.
  13. Bula all, I just scored a 2008 G6ET. 32000ks. Sweet number indeed. However, it just has no balls. Turbo whistles lovely but almost no noticeable boost. Call me unko, but am at least barking up the right tree to assume its been detuned electronically .... Rather than its "defective". Appreciate any feedback before I call the local dealer. Btw, I live in Suva, Fiji and this black diamond is the only one of its kind here. Cheers,
