    Split Hose

Ours is a november built turbo they where built in october as well so dec turbo is possible. It was the xr8 that start in 2003. Ian haha your right! must have been me with the brain fade! :hiwelcome: Oh well! I was on the graveyard shift at work and feeling a bit tired! :sleepgrey:
  2. if I remember right they recon the T could do 265 on a warm day and faster on a cold morning without the speed limiter! Brings a smile to the dial doesn't it!

    Split Hose

I think you guys all have Turbo's on the brain! Last time I checked the T started being produced in 2003 not dec 2002! So he has a car of some sort that may not even be a Ford! Just goes to show we dont read every word we see!

    Lsd

I have had 2 BA XR6 falcon's so far! The first one didn't have LSD and the second one has! The first car was fine to drive normally but if you like to take off hard from the traffic lights or hard around a tight corner it would spin a wheel! I have had both cars with a manual gearbox and I found it was too easy to spin the wheels. The second car has the LSD and it is very strange as you feel like you are going slow around the corners because there is no tyre squealing at you, but then you lok at the speedo and notice you are going alot faster just without the wheel spin! The base XR6 is faster off the line for the initial bit cause of the increased compression over the T so you will notice it off the line probably more than a T if you both took off with no revs on the launch. until the turbo comes in! have fun in your single spinner! Its okay if you have an auto as you wont notice it so much!
  5. GGGRRR although alot of what DAVOWA has said is correct I would like to know one thing from him! How do you know what engine oil ford designed the BA NA motor for? The engine was designed to run on that oil, the clearances of the crank and the like are set to allow everything to run as smooth as possible on that oil grade! Yes it is thin but that's what is meant to be in there! I he puts the 15w40 or 590 weight oil in the next thing he will complain of is excessive fuel use caused by the thicker oil! Always follow the manufacturese recomendationss for the oil grade and the like as that's what the motor was designed for! :rant off:
  6. how many kms you got on it? very few? were you flat out trying to keep up and using alot of wide open throttle? all these can acount for some oil usage!
  7. Ive seen one car in this colour at the PG and it looks quiet good IMO but will see when its done properly on a clean car! Was on a GT mockup! I have ordered mine in this colour and dealer told me the colour is sold out for the month of october already! to me it looks like liquid silver like on the AU's. That picture looks crap compared to the sample sheet!
  8. me will be ordering this colour this week too very nice by the sample! like a normal silver!
  9. The last and only time my cars have ever been serviced at the dealerships was for the free 3000km services! I always check the filter out and will replace it when needed with something better! not a real fan of the oil soaked filters but at the same time have never had to play with one except for the lawn mower!

    Online Chat

I liked the chat room as it was how I got to know the guys I now talk to all the time in messenger. Its good for actually chatting to people about stuff rather than one line comments and the like in the forum! I like the ideas of a chat with suppliers of stuff and the like its a great idea! I say bring it back with a few changes and it will get used more! m 2 cents!
  11. we will get back into this guage soon guys! sorry about the wait but we are both busy people! how much is too much for this guage? looking around $250 roughly at this stage! new faces are like almost $30 each! to make look good costs money and time! sorry!
  12. One thing you will find living in Melbourne or Geelong guys is that Ford employees can change over their cars every 6 months due to being able to trade in and get a new car for next to nothing, if any money changes hands at all. So this causes alot of cars on the second hand market in these areas! As for other states around OZ, its not a problem although you may get a few around from Melbourne or Geelong dealers shipping them to where they are wanted. Just relax and enjoy your car!
  13. The joys of working at ford you get discount on parts! The standard air filter element is costly but! will see about aftermarket when it clogs up!
  14. This is a photo of the XR8 airbox on my NA XR. all easy to do but I have no idea on power or torque difference! Seems to go better but the best thing and really the only reason I did this mod was for some intake noise! Sounds great now especially if under full power going up a steep hill or the like! All fun I have noticed with the way I have done it the ducting is just rubbing on the bonnet lining so I will shorten the duct a little soon or a hole will appear in the lining!

    Melb Go Karting Day

I'll be in for that! was only there a few weeks back looking for a mates bucks day fun! finally I'll be able to run fairly with you guys as I dont have a T for track days! YET! From memory there wasn't much room for parking is that right? maybe car pooling would be the go!
  17. I've had a few run-ins with the law! 1st one was after I had gunned it to make it through the trafic lights before they went red so I went through on an orange light. The cops jumped in behind me and just followed me till I got to the main street of geelong and then hit the lights! How embarrassing as it was at night and there were people every where. Got let off with a warning 2nd was late at night, after I had had a huge argument with the missus and flew of in the car in anger. Was flying down the back road to home which had a few round abouts on it, when I saw a car coming up to the intersection, I thought stuff them I'm not stopping so I sped up! Went through the round about and half way through there was water running over the road. arse end of the car went out realy sideways, I steered into it and kept going. 2 seconds later I notice the police van was the car I had raced through the round about to get infront of. He pulled me over and asked why I was speeding and the like. After they completed a license check they gave me back my license, let me off with a warning and as a parting comment, said "you did well to control that slide". I was amazed I got away with that one! 3rd one was a good deed of mine. I used to service the police cars in geelong and one night while delivering pizzas I noticed a police car with a couple of tail lights not working. I flashed my head lights at him a few times and eventually he stopped. I jumped out and told him he had some tail lights out and that I'd better go. The copper wanted my license and address and the like and I'm like nah its cool gotta go! was very funny. someone pulling a police car over! all fun
  18. I think you are correct. I dont believe there would be enough suction to draw water up a 1/2 meter long, large diameter pipe with the original pipe still in place. you may be right but would you be willing to be the test dummy for this on your car. I'd rather play safe than sorry! I wasn't talking about sucking the water up there so much, as water being forced up there by hitting water head on! Water can do funning things and get into funny places!
  19. That cast section although looking nice a nice piece of art work is extremely restrictive! If you take it off and have alook un the inside, at one point its about the size of a 50 cent piece! The is definetly benifits to fitting a new cross over pipe and the like. In my opinion I would like to remove the battery to the other side of the engine bay and fit the airbox where the battery was and then you remove the need for all these pipes going over the motor, which in its self is bad for heat soak of the intake air, and then you can fit a new intercooler and have much shorter pipes causing better thrttle response and the like! I m amazed it hasn't been done yet cause if you measure the length of pipe now to this sugested version its about half the length! Now if only I had a T and didn't car about warranty or insurance! hope that helps. I think DYNOSTEVE has these pipes your looking for!

    Fuel Leak

I had better not say I have seen that before but I have! The seal around the fuel pump and sender unit in the top of the tank leaks and only shows when full tank! Easy to find and fix. Normally only happens on new tanks but there can always be an odd ball tank! You could remove the rear seat base and then on the passenger side is a big plastic disc that covers the pump. remove that and have a look for fuel around there. The dealer should get you in straight away as its crap runnning around in a car like that!
  21. With regards to moving the position of the bottom of the duct I think it wound be best to have the duct higher but as to the position I am unsure. The factory postion under the bonnet edge or under the headlight seem to work well and also can cope with going through around 300mm deep water. Its something we dont do in our own cars but just gives you an idea what the car should be able to do just incase! Alot of water and engines dont mix, it can bend conrods and the like. I have seen it done! Keep up the good work! Keep think of more mods
  22. There is nothing wrong with your idea at all. I have seen it done many times and if you watch magazines like ZOOM, they show heaps of cars using a pod filter in an airbox type thing! Go for it!
  23. I just recently completed a high speed driving course. Part of the course is on braking from 100km/h, 140km/h and finally 180km/h. It was amazing to see how many people can't stop from these speeds in a straight line in a NON ABS car without smoking the tyres big time! I was the only one in the group who could do it at all speeds! I have been riding bikes for years and its all about smoothness as you have said! If you stab the brakes they lock! Hit them hard but not through the floor and then squease them on hard and all stops without lock up! I think I can stop quicker than ABS that way! The whiches hats on the day appeared to say that to. talking to the instructors they told me I was a smart arse, but then also said that motor bike riders make the best drivers from their point of veiw as they feel and see whats going on alot better! smoothness is the key! been down the ocean road alot and have had bloody quick guys infront of me and never see their brake lights come on! Very smooth and know the limits of thereselves and there bikes! funny to watch people tell them they have a blown stop light when we stop only to be proven wrong! best way I find to be smooth is to watch your passengers as you drive! If they are bouncing all around due to rough inputs from you then smooth it all out! Also the 2 hands on the steering wheel in the old 9 and 3 positions helps heaps for smooth steering! Do as many driving courses as you can. you never stop learning! I f you think you have nothing to learn then get off the road! by the way. did you know that on a T you only need to use 40% throttle as you get full boost at that point! think about that when you drive!
  24. I'm currently looking into a novated lease next time instead of buying like I do now! If the figures work and I sell the car for what I pay for it like I have been doing then I am actually infront by $20 a week including fuel! Pretty cool. Having a T will only add like $30 to the amount each week and then get it all back at trade in time! win win! Also I can possibly get access to a FACTORY 10PSI ECU program! NO I cant get it for all of you! Then me go hunting lots of HSV's and crap like that!
  25. Hey guys! Sorry the Boost guage isn't up and running yet as we have both been flat out with work and the like, my wife just had a baby, and we also hit a few snags with the guage fitting into the space provided under the trim. We have a fix but just need the time to do it and then fit it to IMTURBO's T. Or mine if all goes to plan! Will keep you posted!
