  1. here we go, some pictures of my clean manderine! looks good is some lights and odd in others! will try to take one at night to show the brown colour it goes!
  2. if I get time I will do them wednesday morning as the car is clean cause it hasn't rained yet! otherwise it will be on the weekend but that will mean it will rain by then! haha!
  3. you want me to take some more pictures of mine? looks good! although it seems to take on some odd colours at times! looks like that tiger Late model camira colour sometimes! we call it a not quiet ripe tomatoe! all different colours!
  4. Unless you can show me proof of an article or similar, I recon that information is a load of crap! A Expensive Daewoo fan who thought something up and is reading this all and laughing! There is no way that that valve operating system will be used by then! As far as I am aware no manufacture has worked out how to do it! As for the variable intake, I doubt that too! Very expensive for not much gain! and reving to 7200rpm or what ever will not happen in a aust family car as aussies dont like to rev there engines, prefer the torque! In terms of the government banning the power rating, they can't. How would they control BMW and mercs and the like? the government makes to much money from luxury car tax and the like to shoot its self in the foot like that! Speed limited to 250km/h seems the more normal thing to do, like the majority of BMW and mercs! my 2 cents!
  5. The correct way to align the headlights is as follows On a level floor, measure from the centre of the headlight globe you are wanting to align, to the ground. Mark this point on a wall or board, that you can drive up to and then reverse back square to the board, to have the front of the car back 5 metres from the board. Now measure 50mm lower than the mark on the board and this is the point that you set the light beam to. just touching the mark with the top of the beam. This is what is meant to be done at the factory but I have yet to see one done right! You can repeat this for every light on the front of the car. I find that a garage roller door is a good reference cause you measure the points you need once and use the ribs of the door. hope that helps you can get a light aligner that will measure the light intensity that works very well to, but that costs money, the wall is cheaper!
  6. sometimes they do that sort of thing but not very often as its hard to keep track of where the car is and stuff like that! our test mustang ended up being a promo car and our test turbo ended up being one of the targa tassie cars!
  7. hahahahahaha! you a funny boy! you think I want to lose my job? I know a bit about it, but I arn't telling!
  8. I should know a thing or to about this seeing as I work on the cars your talking about every day! years ago they used to just get burried in the ground but these days of enviromental laws, the majority go and get crushed. Makes you cry! other cars, like the first GT test car and stuff like that go to the discovery centre to be rebuilt as a show car! if your into motor sport, you can get a car and as long as when your finished ford can have it back to crush it its all good! Parts from these cars can not be sold due to the possible risk of part failure and unknown part history! if something failed and proven to be at faulkt ford would be in trouble! Still makes me cry when I remember cutting up 18" alloy wheels with the gas axe! hole saw through the tyre side walls! on 90% good tyres! finished testing and no good any more!
  9. I reset the trip computer every tank full of fuel I put in! The more kms you do between resetting the trip meter, the less it will be inclined to move! If you reset it then watch it it will move fast and as the more kms you do the slower it gets! if you leave it for months before reseting then don't bother worrying about the reading as it wont be real! I record fuel used and kms done for each tank and in my last BA XR NA I averaged 11.27 litres per 100km/s over 17,000kms! pretty good! the trip computer will always be worse than real fuel used to! I have the T now but haven't run a full tank through it yet! will let you know by the end of the week! Some of the guys have noticed by putting the GT airbox and the twin intake onto the turbo you basically get similar fuel economy toan NA when not flooring it all the time! Sounds right to me as that's what this current tank is saying so far, its similar to the NA XR;s! I used to get over 500kms a tank with an average speed of 45-50km/h by the trip computer! reset it each tank full and then work it all out! very interesting!
  10. Hi Harasn, I think you may have misunderstood my comments. I brought up the XR8 because I have one and have noticed that it is quite difficult to get the change over figures you received on your XR6's. That’s all mate, not making you out to be a V8 boy or insinuating you like the XR8 in anyway. No one’s perfect  No Probs, Easy to mistake what some one says with the typed word sometimes! The change over prices of all BA's is going out the window at the moment due to so many being out there! most of us employee's are changing every 6 months! All our guys are getting territory's now so that should make the resale price high again for the BA! hope so! Otherwise I'll have to look into territory's! With employees able to get dscount on 2 ranges of cars it should help not make the resales so low!
  11. As of about Nov last year they made the changes for the brake shudder fix. This being The same front calipers with high roll back pistons to pull the pads off the disc more, and different pads with a slightly different compound. There was something else they did but I forget it now! This resulted in a softer and dead feeling pedal. Not a hard pedal from straight away but one with more travel to get the brakes working! There are other, better plans ahead but they wont be coming till BA2 time!
  12. I will be getting them fixed! already have the transmission engineers names and the like I need to speak to if I get stuffed around by the dealer! sometimes its good to work on the inside! speed up the repair process if you know the right people!
  13. Its a base turbo with tinted windows, XR mats and mud spats! that's it from the dealer! It since has the GT airbox with the turbo intake into the side and the BMC air filter element! love it! I am chasing that map but its hard to find cause they are scared it will sh*t the trans!
  14. any one thought it might have just had the wrong gear knob on it?
  15. yeh I drove them and reported these exact problems but management decide which problems to fix and the like! timing has alot to do with it to! model release dates and stuff like that! extremely annoying but!
  16. have to admit it has a bit of driveline shunt but I'd hate to tell you the turbo seems to hide alot more than the NA versions. Just what I have noticed! With the clutch shudder, I can make the whole driveline start knocking sometimes when just moving off without using any revs! we have a steep driveway and the car is close to the garage wall so we move slowly and that's when you get it! grrr!!!! been to the dealer and they have the BTR transmission guy coming to look at it ASAP! I will have to have words with him before he goes there to make sure he knows what its doing! take him for a run in it if he comes to the PG! All fun and games! Bring on the 6 speed manuals! T5 is old! wish I could have taken the T5 out of the old car and put it in this one! was a rebuilt one and was best I have ever used! will keep you posted! good thing is the dealer picks the car up and drops it off leaving a new focus or the like for us to use so its not all bad! I love the T, if I had more money to play with I would get an F6 but never a V8! a T is much better IMO!
  17. Hey guys! Finally have a Turbo in the garage! Great new colour and all! Love the feeling you get when the boost comes in! Although the feeling of the traction control coming in at 100km/h + is odd. road was a bit damp but was fun! there are bets between the wife and I of who will get the first speeding ticket already and the car hasn't even got 350km on the clock yet! I have a manual and I was wondering if anyone had a gear whine in any gears? 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears are noisy and 4th and 5th are fine! Going back on Monday to have a chat about the problems with the car to the dealer! anyone had bad clutch shudder to? mine almost shakes you out of the car! anyone with diff whine? mine does at 95km/h+. looks like the drive line will be getting replaced soon! scary! not happy but hey as long as they fix it without grief and give me a car in the mean time then all will be fine!
  18. Got the car and since the dealership has polished it, it's changed colour its now alot darker and stuff like that! changes colour all the time! looks from a brown to yellow/orange! very odd! as for a 5K change over price I think they saw you coming! wouldn't have been at the geelong dealership would it! I dont buy my cars there! I'll take some photo's of the front seats soon! when not driving it!!!
  19. why you say I get better resale on an XR6 than an 8? I am not a V8 boy so dont want an XR8, besides the 6's are better cars! fizzy fanta is probably a good description! should pick the car up on thursday or friday! can't wait!
  20. Glad the photo's have been able to put peoples minds at rest! The photo's dont do the colour full justice but the basic look is right! The dealer saying its like a colour that changes colour depending on where the sun is. that's about right! Always looks orange but has that real gold shine in the sun! I pick it up on friday if all goes to plan! The mods will be done on friday night! hehe
  21. Good point! we have been thinking the same! Sometimes the wife forgets what colour car she has! she wont with this one, it will be burnt into her retinas! haha Glow in the dark! now that's an idea for a colour!
  22. No chance of me changing my name! Like my current one to much! As for upgrading the ECU, let me just say that I am looking into it as much as I can! would be very interesting! we heard about a super program a while back but I think the people involved were concerned about the gearboxes and the like dying! We will see what happens! Just seen what I think maybe a new Yellow that might come out, and all I will say is EEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWw!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. In my opinion, this colour craps all over Blood Orange. I just hope it looks different enough out on the road. I love the interior but each his own. that's why we have Holdens for people with no taste to buy! haha I think its basically the first mandarine XR! Nobody I have spoken to has seen it! You get a bit of a kick having something before anyone else! Glad I could show you all! would have hated to not have a digi camera to use!
