  4. Hi Guys, I had the same problem around 4000 kms. It happened twice in 5 days. In both cases, the engine starts but is really rough and has no power (I assume it puts itself in limp mode). The engine light on the right bottom of the dash also stayed on. Took it in to the dealer who said the problem was to do with the trottle controller, and ordered an replacement. Haven't taken the bird back to get this part put in, but I haven't had any subsequent problems either. Hope this helps.
  5. Count me in. It would be great to see the difference any mods have made. Has anyone contacted Zoom magazine yet. It would be interesting to see how their non ECS mods compare to APS / Powerchip etc. I don't think I'll put my car on the dyno, but I'll happily pitch in for the others. Regards ST
  6. Also MS700, they didn't change the oil during the 3000 kms service. I have read alot about the benefits of doing so, but the service team insisted that it was not needed.
  7. Hi Guys Yeah, the turbo really does punch now... even my wife noticed the difference after it was serviced (and I thought I was the only one who drove it hard). Oh well, taking it to another dealer for a subsequent checkup tomorrow (as after the service last week, I've also noticed coolant leakage and the infamous heat shield rattle underneath the driver's seat). But the turbo delivery concerns me, totally changes the feel of the car when driving.
  8. Hi Guys, Just had the 3000km service, noticed the power delivery is more non-linear than normal. Has anyone else had this experience. Power doesn't seem to pick up until at least 2200-2500 rpms, where as it felt 'more on tap' previously. Regards ST
  9. 1500 kms on the clock, so early days yet but nothing to complain about so far. Now, if Ford Customer Service could only match it .....
  10. Hi All, I thought I use this forum to communicate a 'small nice to have' to all the Ford designers out there. In the Series II BA, please ensure the electric windows buttons are illuminated at night time. Currently they are not, although the sunroof controls are. It can be quite difficult controlling the windows at night because of this reason. A small b**ch I know, but worth raising I think. ST
  11. Guys, Thought I would fill you in on a couple of problems I picked up on my vehicle: * Leather seat - several prominent marks on the right shoulder of the back right passenger seat. These marks were also in line with two rough marks on the steel frame near the rear door. I did not pick up this until I opened the rear right passenger seat (I checked the leather via the left passenger seat when I picked up the car). Lesson to be learnt - OPEN ALL DOORS OF THE VEHICLE AND CHECK FOR MARKS EITHER ON THE SEATS or on the metal near the door. My dealer is fixing the problem, but other dealers may not be so willing. * ICC Centre Screen (for Premium Sound option) - two significant scratch marks on the ICC Screen. Couldn't really see them until you have no display showing. I thought I saw something when I picked up the car, but it was hard to tell as the car was in a position where there was a shadow line across the screen. Lesson to be learnt - CHECK THE ICC SCREEN WHEN YOU PICK UP THE CAR. The whole ICC section has to be replaced, not just the screen, so a costly operation to replace. I'm lucky that because my company is a huge fleet customer of the dealer, there was no issue fixing these problems. The average Joe Blow from the street might have more difficulty. I hope this helps. ST
  12. Guys, Picked up the car FINALLY on Friday (28th March) with great excitement, and took it straight onto the South Eastern to head home... but... caught in peak traffic. Could not believe it however, when within five minutes I found 2 Merc Silv. XR6Ts in convoy on the far lane. I gladly pulled in front of the ol' commi who was tailing them and joined the queue. Considering the rarity of the Xr6Ts on the road, what are the odds of having three XR6Ts in a conjoy with the same color. Everyone was staring at us as we passed them, it was an incredible feeling and a great way to start life in a new car. Wondering whether anyone else has had similar experiences?

    Cant Wait!

Guys, I picked up my car on Friday 28th. The car started build on the 4th. You WILL be delayed, no 2 bones about it. BUT IT WILL BE WORTH IT. I can ensure you that. Keep reading this forum, because the info gained from participating is fantastic.
  14. cdm, I have had 5 frustrating and in most respects unqualified delays but finally the day arrives on Friday. I think Ford must be sick of me ringing up everyday to confirm statuses but hey ... My view is quite simple, I'm a project manager in IT, and I have HAD to manage Ford like my other projects. I even have a word document with issues, risks and the like. Some of u perhaps might think get a life :D but in reality I've kept an audit trial of all the BS I've been fed, and if Ford don't deliver the car with the exact specs I asked for, then at least I have a mechanism of supporting my claim(s) for compensation etc. I do intend to submit this document (now quite lengthy) to Mr. Polites after everything has been sorted so he can have some constructive feedback to reflect on Perhaps this might pave the way for a more positive experience going forward!!
  15. Guys, Checked the latest MOTOR magazine for the PCOTY results. The X6T comes in at a decent 3rd, only eclipsed by the Merc SL55 AMG and the Boxer S, both vastly more expensive cars. Fantastic review really, only real negative issues regard the manual gearbox, and the light steering (both problems I can personally live with). It would have been interesting to have the SSS version also reviewed, but perhaps another time. Also available is the PCOTY video, I've already put my order in. Hopefully it show in deal the XR6T getting put through its paces. I think a loud CHEERS in order ST
  16. wig, my car also is meant to have premium sound, but has been built this week (march 4). I would suggest contacting your ford dealer, I know I would.
  17. Hi There, Followed the thread, was concerned and rang my ford dealer. Apparently, the ford system says delivery receipt on '14th March', but the car itself started build in the ford factory on the 4th March. Assuming that the car is built at the factory now and probably sitting at Tickfords ready for the turbo fitting, this does not leave much time to meet the 14th March delivery date (so I'm not holding my breath, so to speak!). I ordered mine on November 8th so it has been a very long wait. Strangely enough, my pal also ordered one during the same time, and has not even got a SIDO number yet. I suspect that because I ordered mine through the company fleet system (one of the top 5 companies in Aust) there may be some urgency delivering my vehicle (probably due to some set SLAs between my company and ford). my mate ordered his direct via the ford dealer, hence potentially the difference in response from Ford. I would strongly suggest to anyone out there who is currently thinking about ordering an XR6T to go via their company fleet management system if they have the opportunity to do so, especially if you work for a bank or a major company with an established relationship with Ford. I know its little solice to those guys out there who are currently stuck in the current situation, but perhaps may help stopping guys in future suffering the same fate!.
  18. Great Pics mate B) I agree, Mercury Silver is classy. Mine's due week starting 17th March. Hooray.
  19. Both my ford dealer, and a NZ motor review indicated 14 speakers not 11?
