  1. Replaced boost solanoid a while ago, gained 60km a tank fuel economy from meter and the car defiantly runs far more consistently. I found the old one was OKAY though when I lubed it up regularly but got sick with it being 150,000kms old and replaced it, it was defiantly better than ever lubing it up though is the main point so I don't feel ripped off for the $51.
  2. Had good experiences with RPM panel and paint. However your experience will probably suck as it'll be like 6 weeks to get anything in, they are effing flat out when I saw last and for good reason as the work I've seen and had done for me has been nothing short of incredible.
  3. A little bump, could a badly aligned cradle be the cause of a diff bush being flogged in about 400km? I defiantly notice my rear wheels seem to both face sorta slightly inwards now compared to before hand. People are all saying its the ford bush and driving a car hard will flog it so I've just left the matter but if the mechanics done the job wrong, doesn't matter how many burnouts the car has done they have f*cked up.
  4. Yeah that's fair enough, I just wasn't sure about that shop was all. For that, would you imagine that it would be a brand new original Ford one? As like no way would I want second hand. Of course I will ask the shop but just wondering if brand new original ones are like $300 as I just read above something like $1000+? Could a faulty booster be causing my issue when I plant the foot, traction control stops my fun but then if I hold foot down it turns off and the light comes up until I stop and start motor. It's quite funny, it's like the cars telling me COME ON YOU PUSSY DO A SKID. nek minnut I'm at the tyre shop.
  5. someone wants $600 to supply and fit new booster. Don't know what else it includes. If Ralph reckons dont pay more than $300, assuming the shop gets one for that or less, wheres $300 labour going, do you have to flush fluid following a new booster install? Is this a simple unbolt and bolt new one in task that somebody who is able to do spark plugs is able to do? It hell ruined it for the cruise the other night, brakes just felt f*cked all night I could tell it was sticking on and I was deliberately going very easy on them.
  6. I thought it was actually alright, things can't always be ideal. During the day would be nice, I quite like that indian ocean drive but that is quite a trek for me but the road is just lovely for a good fanging( at the speed limit)..Maybe a future cruise idea? Head up towards Jurien Bay..maybe not that far up the coast but theres places along the way we can stop. Theres a few roads that I know of that you can really do "110 km/h" quite well on if you catch what I mean....Wide road, good tarmac and hardly ever see anybody. I forget the exact name but I might look at a map as I've been dying to take my car on that road again Ideas anybody, is like anybody interested in meeting somewhere, cruising up freeway then up wannaroo road (I think it is?), past carabooda etc then eventually onto indian ocean road? Like maybe only like half a day from the morning and we finish up having lunch (somewhere must do lunch up there, a pub somewhere?), of course there is places to pull up along the way etc.
  7. Interesting, they should have a model number on them (mine has that along with manufacture date and everything) as I'm about to replace my booster in mine. I would have thought rather than look for xr6t booster you'd look for the same model number parts?
  8. Ha, they made me turn my fog lamps off and I swear the cops wanted to check my car out further but didnt. Pheeew...no P plates up and questionable rear tyres from spirited driving. Hopefully it was just how I was polite to them they were chill?
  9. I like to deliberately hit stuff like this, even in my XR. I've come from a commercial, raised and bull bar equipped ute to my falcon. It's hard to change driving style and has defiantly resulted in some damage to my vehicle haha. I drive along on some roads and hit a good 10-15 rabbits depending on the time in certain bushland areas. Haven't noticed one scratch on my front bumper but I find it's more humane to accelerate and make sure you hit em properly so they defiantly die and aren't left like injured as that's bad. I could like never drive off if it was somebodies pet though.
  10. Anyone heard of cracking a set of RDA slotted and dimpled rotors? They were with EBC red brake pads. Shop reckons its all to do with driving style even though from day one we said there might be an issue with brakes sticking on (causes rotors to become too hot I think?). I'm not arguing though, there is a tonne of rubber underneath my car so it's obvious of how it's been driven and im not acting all shocked about things going wrong with a car that has the crap thrashed out of it. Rear brakes are stock and are fine. I cancelled XFT over all of this coming up! I might have to try and drop it off to them before I fly out to work.
  11. Yeah , I'm quite worried even though the car still performs quite well, it went lovely this morning nice and cold on the freeway in perth It's just it doesn't feel right, something is up with the motor, it was using a SHIIIIIIT load of fuel like im talking a tank of 98 for 300km and then I had battery out for a while working on something and lubing the boost solanoid and refilled a tank of 98 and it came up with 500km distance to empty and so far it is defiantly better and my driving style and conditions have not changed. Sensor of some description stuffed? Somethings gotta be up, car felt the same after lubing boost solanoid. My traction control light does that too, when I stab it and start to lose traction (not all the time as I have very good qualty tyres, and my car isnt some monster) and keep accelerating it screws something and then I can start to do a burnout, its like the car going YOU PUSSY THIS IS HOW WE DO IT! Had a few funny moments where I've accidently smoked it due to this! It is consistent where it will be normal after restarting engine and car shows no fault codes.
  12. You know when something just feels wrong with your car but you can't seem to figure out exactly what? I have a feeling XFT next week is going to be expensivee :( .....but hell worthit so I should quit my whining
  13. Hmmmm my car sees XFT on the 6th, a cruise on the 10th would be quite nice
  14. Yeah well it's too fun driving around hard but I don't go too hard and I don't skimp on tyres or drive around with them tooo bald, neither do I skimp on brakes. maybe brains though at times, I need a big sharp spike close to the firewall so if I push my foot too hard on the accelerator it reminds me to stop haha. Nobodies ever taught me how to do a burnout before, so maybe I do it wrong? Turbotrana, in regards to the bush failing, you think I should really go back?
  15. It's just a flash tuned BA, generic tuned. Going in for fuel injectors and a proper custom tune at XFT soon. It just loves the cool temperatures down south of WA and I was just doing massive skids with it, of course on a private property which has a tarmac'd area. I sorta remember feeling the point where it flogged the bush, was not towing at the time, had a big cloud of smoke which had filled the car up, I can't describe it, it was like taking a girls virginity, it defiantly felt less tight. All three bushes were replaced with ford genuine. I've done a few thousand km's now and gone through 2 sets of rear tyres and it doesn't seem to have become nearly as worse as the last time the bush was flogged( original with car). It'd be too cheeky for me to return to these guys after having to extensively clean under the car and replace one of the black mudguards inside and try and say they musta stuffed it up, I've got the money to sort this out myself. I don't even pretend to be a better driver than I am either, I've come very close to things not turning out so well a little too often so after getting new bushes fitted I'll relax. I can't imagine what other cars here are capable of doing, it just amazes me really, I'm not sure what power I'll get with injectors put in but I shall find out - I'm sure XFT will look after me.
  16. Spare tyre is secure? I thought I had a rattle/knock in my rear suspension and it was my spare tyre.
  17. Hey all, So I had diff bushes done under dealer warranty on a BA, now the thing is they knew I'd been driving like a dickhead (all burnt rubber under guards, tyres half shredded) and they did the diff bush anyway for me and many other things under the warranty they have to provide when selling a used car...all sweet I thought... Car drove wonderfully , took it for a 400km drive towing a trailer, thrashing the crap out of it with the trailer the whole way to where I was going, I did a couple of decent skids (ON A TRACK OF COURSE) and bam pretty much right away noticed I'd flogged the bush again. It's no where near as bad as the old bush but I'm actually shocked as I knew the ford bush would not last long but seriously I thought I'd be going through more tyres than diff bushes! Was replaced with original ford bush, I can't be bothered seeing this dealer again but really just a few burnouts and I've flogged a bush, Could thrashing the car while towing have a negative effect on the bush? I'm sure whatever workshop I see next will sus out whether it's installed correctly and if it was incorrectly installed I'll nail the dealer and send them the bill. What are the thoughts of the people here? I looked under the car and I can see the center one is completely flogged, all torn and sh*t. How long do these dammed ford bushes last for? Thanks for reading.
  18. Nobody is getting off easy, I don't believe the government has a right to take somebodies property like this and consider it theft. somebody who's got a $1500 car might only earn not much per week compared to the guy with the 100k car. I see your point though, I think I was thinking on another planet when I was writing the previous post. Also what happens if you owe money on the car? like if they sell it and it doesn't sell for what's owing on it?
  19. Punish the person! Somebody well off who gets their car taken off them isn't going to be affected as much as somebody who isn't as well off and loses their car. In my opinion they should just be made to do community service as that punishes the well off person the same as the not so rich person. However the reasons here are just bullcrap, too much is left to the officers discretion and as people have mentioned "the sort of day they are having". I do think its a lot to do with how you speak to the cop but some cops are just pricks.
  20. Spraypainted my intercooler silver using liquid chrome spraypaint. looks da bomb...haha (kidding), I did a real bodge job just used heaps of newspaper on everything to avoid overspray, gave it two extremely light coats. I think it just seems slightly more menacing but the original colour black would have actually performed better to cool down the intake air..have not noticed a performance drop yet but only the front is painted.
  21. I have a BA xr6t and I testdrove a G6Et and I got out of it sweating and told the sales person that I need to leave as I will sign for this if I am here any longer. I see myself in one just I'd have to put a LSD diff into it as they don't come with them and it's not an option I believe. I got quoted 47K for a FG mk2 xr6t and 54K for a G6ET. congrats mate! I know how lovely these are!
  22. hmmm damn steve I defiantly admire your wheels and would love to see it in person someday! Anyone know where I get the side indicator plastics, supercheap did not seem to have anything for me?
  23. Oh you're so mean! I'm laughing quite hard, I don't actually know how I came across this thread haha!
