  1. Ah fair enough, this cars being a very costly excersice. It sat for 12 months in a storage shed while old mate was travelling before I bought it so im guessing that's part of faults Might have to look at bolting engine into a little cortina and using it has a drag car or something the amount im spending lol
  2. yer im up in gladstone so it'd probably be a bit hard to grab it off you. Is there much success with aftermarket ecus?
  3. ah yeh dont like my chances of that. Unless someone on this site has one they'll sell cheap . Ill have to keep an eye out. Im really not keen on replacing it unless it screwed cause it sounds like an overtop fix when everything bar speedo and limp mode is running perfect
  4. Ill try get my hands on one. Can I use a ba xt one and have it reprogrammed? or must be xr6t
  5. would it really need a new pcm but I dont see how? maybe just a reprogram?
  6. P0602 - Control Module Programming Error This Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) indicates programming error within Vehicle ID block (VID). VID data corrupted by the scan tool during VID reprogramming Using the scan tool, reprogram the VID block. If PCM does not allow reprogramming of the VID block, reflashing PCM will be required. this is my error code, which leads me to believe ford dealer should accept responibility?
  7. thanks turbotrana. the abs light isnt on but other stuff does sound right ill look into it. car has gone to ford today and they have said the pcm is fooked, now im finding that hard to believe as 1. it lets me flash tune it 2. auto elecy mate used his snap on obd2 scanner and he said everything is sending and working properly. 3. the reseting computer and relearn idle steps work properly, if it was faulty I dont see how this could work. 4. other than the speed sensor error and vid block programming error the car runs as expected. 5. apparently this is a common ford excuse to fix all problems thoughts on the matter? id rather let it burn in a paddock than shell out more thousands
  8. according to the gregorys manual abs models (didnt realise there was a non abs model) use wheel speed sensors but my ford knowledge is about as good as what ive read in the manual. after 5 phone calls and a very angry visit ford have agreed to look at it wednesday free of charge until they can verify it wasnt there fault. (I bet they verify that quick) my brother has reminded me just this morning that before the car went to ford (while it wasnt starting) for the last error we removed the icc to run boost gauge line. is it possible I havent plugged it back in correctly and its not getting the info from speed sensor correctly.
  9. If some one can work out my problem ill happily post them the price of a slab of there favourite beer. also how to test speed sensors? Located at wheels
  10. Yer shows vid block/programming error and speed sensors
  11. stocko 17s off a ba xr8 did have 19s on previoulsy and overall diameter has hardly changed. But had 17s on rear and 19s on front for a test & tune other night but didnt get to go.
  12. Feels like it shifts hard into a gear than the d flashes and feels like im in maybe 3rd gear. D is flashing on screen under tacho
  13. Put a new battery in just than it idles better but still throws into limp mode. Checked gearbox oil its all clean and full still. put boost gauge back in and it throws out at 5psi not sure if this is part of it. im guessin limp mode is caused by speedo being out?
  14. the battery is failry new and was reading 13.3 volts but if the car doesnt get started for a day it drops volts pretty quick. and its had to be recharged twice now just from sitting for a few days. maybe its faulty.
