  1. Spot on bjc, Cheers Ended up machining up my own flapper disc and ported the housing myself. The exhaust is a custom made 3.5inch cat back with big straight threw centre and rear mufflers. I Scored it used on eBay Yet to chuck it all in and get a retune and possibly a zf tune though.
  2. Cheers mate but that Doesn't really help much If I were to take the turbo off and take it to him even?
  3. And at what level do the standard valve springs tend to become an issue and rough cost on replacing them? Cheers much
  4. Alrighty, cheers for confirming that. Anyone know what sort of price am I looking at for the turbo flapper mod to be done at an SA workshop?
  5. Thread revival haha Territory still going strong, had the heater circuit thermostat housing explode recently, was able to nurse it home and bypassed it and the standard trams heat exchanger with a proper front mounted trans cooler. I also made my own front mount cooler and piping which came up awesome! Also just purchased a 3.5 inch straight threw cat back exhaust system, wondering people's thoughts on wether or not the 3.5 inch exhaust would cause over boosting? Currently have debunged standard exhaust with rear muffler straight piped. Driving to Bathurst in a few weeks and id like to chuck this exhaust on before hand . Cheers guys
  6. I also now have a near new growler cold air box to suit the territory for sale. On the car roughly 6 months/3000klm's. Can post. Text Tom on 0423420713 Cheers Chasing 300ono
  7. I would recommened Bruce too, genuine bloke, awesome service and cheap rates! My tune has been awesome, the only trouble Iv had with the car since day one has been a small leak on that stupid power steering fitting which I replaced in 10 minutes with a new oring. Last week I fitted up the Plazmaman under battery cai too and just wow to the noise it produces!! Also blocked off bov. Loving this car everytime I drive still
  8. Damn alright I might hold off on the cooler kit for now then. Any idea on roughly how much ya pay for a good build box? 3-4k? Iv got a Plazmaman under battery intake ready to throw on to replace my growler cold air box. I also have a spare brand new gt3582r turbo in peices, now am I able to throw on the .07 conp housing or will it need the conp wheel and housing used? That should give slightly cooler intake temps while keeping the top mount yeah? Would the cold air intake and bigger comp housing be enough to need retuning? Cheers
  9. Hi again guys Sorry to keep this thread going, I feels it's easier as my situation and mods can be seen. Now I had my trans serviced and flushed with a steel pan upgrade and the gulf western fluid by mv automatics in Adelaide. Awesome job and price, super quick service! After that the normal lunge into first gear when coming to a stop had completely gone, shifts were a lot quicker and firmer too money well spent! Now lately under full power 3rd to 4th shifts occasionally it feels it slips during the shift. And occasionally feels like it holds a gear a little longer than it should for the throttle input. I'm curious if this is perhaps common symptoms of a generally worn zf trans or maybe somthing Somone else may have experienced running the gulf western fluid? Also how have people's zf's held up when pushed up around the 300awkw mark? Roughly what are people paying for a rebuild and beef up of the box? I'm at the stage were I'm ready to buy the Plazmaman front mount kit but Im curious if I should save a little longer to pay for trans. Cheers guys for all the great advice
  10. That's awesome for the power mate!!! Any chance you can post a engine bay pic? Showing turbo side intake pipe too Plazmaman kit looks very thorough. Did you install yourself? On the diff bushes, Is their tuffet nolathane etc bushes available? Would anyone happen to have the part number? Cheers Without this forums help I would still be rolling a standard TT!! So much thanks to everyone for the wise words!!
  11. Hahha rightyo all of this is very re assuring!! I'm not really concerned all that much with the fuel consumption, it would have just been another positive to the tune! Mine is averaging around 14.8-15.4 with a mixture of freeway and town driving. What bolt in front mount cooler options are their available for us? What mods are you running for the 320awkw xrlook? Still loving this car everytime I get in Next time I'm home from work I'll have my local ford dealer do the ballpoint recall as it is yet to be done. Also goona get them to take a good look over the underside for f*cked bushes etc. As when backing off under medium to high power loads theirs a decent thud heard from the back end or trams tunnel region. Any ideas, perhaps diff bushes? Cheers
  12. It definatly feels more linear in delivery now and feels as it continues to keep pulling to redline where standard tune kinda leveled off. What neat front mount cooler options are their for us with TT's? Other than the highly priced plazmaman kit.
  13. Alright cheers for the added assurance their jetsnot! Bruce is definatly a top bloke, was straight upfront about some delays with the injector install and tuning and even let me take a loan car for the few hours it was being tuned. Very competitively priced too!! He guesstimated they usually gain about 60kw, which should put it somewhere between the 240-260awkw mark. that's from debung exhaust, growler intake, 60lb injectors and xcal3 tune. What is the nearest 4wd dyno equipped workshop to the freeway? As I'm from Murray bridge anx wouldn't mind just having it run up to see afr plot and what power it actually is making to kind of gauge the condition of my motor etc.. Also towed a mates track car last week, tows do bloody beautifully! Could barelly even feel the weight behind it, except when braking of course. What gear have people used to upgrade the brakes on their TT's?
  14. Highly recommended mv automatics here in adelaide, took 2 hours and 200 bucks. I supplied gulf western oil and steel pan kit. Awesome improvement!! Much smoother changes, less of a lag between the first to second shift under power, no lurch going back to first when coming to a stop. Very happy camper. Although since having the tune done by Bruce Heinrich the fuel economy has worsened, Iv given it a few tanks for me to be used to the added power and drive a little more sedately. I was under the impression I would get a resonable gain in economy? Don't know if I'm maybe A bit too fusy but the power gains don't seem that great over standard. I put a full tank when I dropped the car to him and the gauge had not moved, was ment to be "road tuned" but I have a gut feeling he may have loaded up a guess map of a car with similar mods and left it at that.. ? Cheers
