  1. Hi, do you have a Link to where I can buy a Garrett Genuine 11.8psi actuator for a BA? Cheers
  2. How can the tuner get it so wrong. Before my gate was ported, it overbosted to 16psi and that gave 360 RWKW. We ported it and got it to a nice 300 RWKW at 11psi max. -How come it took 19psi to get 327 RWKW- Doesn't make sense to me Edit- Or is this the baseline run after the mods, before he had a chance to tune it, and it couldn't handle the first run-up on the dyno
  3. I would have thought it would be hard to tell how much power an engine has, by MPH down a 1/4 mile track, unless you do a "power to weight" comparison as well. Surely two cars, both with 300rwkw on the same dyno could have a totally different time, eg, a car weighing 1.4 ton will be much quicker then a car weighing 1.8 ton on the 1/4 mile run. Does that make sense
  4. Check your Owners Manual, it says what to do in there to turn screen back on. I have a BA and it says to turn OFF constant screen, press and hold the Volume knob for 3 seconds until the screen goes blank, so when you adjust something on there, the screen will only display for 5 seconds after you have finished. To turn back on, press and hold Volume knob for 3 seconds for constant display.
  5. Happy Birthday xr6thsveta!

  6. Cheap way to check is to cut about a metre length off your garden hose, stick one end to your ear and poke the other end around those gaskets, you should be able to find exactly where it is leaking by the change in sound. This has worked for me before several times
  7. I became a granddad for the first time yesterday, a beautiful girl . Im so proud that I cant stop smiling
  8. Is your boost gauge reading right? Have you tried another one to see if it is reading the same psi ?
  9. Hi Ralph, are these the mounts you have put on your car?
  10. What injectors do you have in it? I had the problem of long cranking when it was warm/hot. I got my tuner to take out the 42lb injectors (e-bay ones) and put in 60lb dekas and it fixed the problem, this was after checking everything else including new plugs and air-flow sensor
  11. Almost sounds like exhaust gasket leaking, (manifold possibly) Cut a piece of garden hose ( about a meter long ) and stick one end to your ear and move the other end around the motor and exhaust joins, you might be able to locate where the sound is coming from and go from there.
  12. Hi, I know it's an old post but I'm interested in porting my turbo at some stage. When you say a good port job will help control boost if you have a "free flowing intake and exhaust" how much will it actually control, for instance- will it control a tune at 6psi with standard actuator (3-4psi) or is this asking too much of it or is this more for trying to control overboost above say-12 to 15psi because everything is so free flowing Sorry if this is a stupid question but just trying to understand it Cheers
  13. So could that restrictor in the line starve the turbo of oil, I wont be leaving mine in but could others have issues with it by leaving it in ? Cheers
  14. Is this correct, (450mls in 15 secs) because the I've got an after market braided line for my BA and it has a restrictor on the turbo end ( approx. 1mm hole ) and I checked the flow with the restrictor and it was about 150mls after 15 secs, and without the restrictor it was bang on 450mls. Do the Earl lines have a restrictor on them and has anyone checked the flow from it, Im a bit worried to use mine after reading this ^. I might put my old one back on and check the flow before taking the car for a drive with the new one, Cheers
