  1. Sorry I missed you blokes this year. Work made it hard especially being on night shift over the weekend. I also forgot to adjust my alarm to see if I could catch you all at the old butter factory. I didn’t see you when I went past in any case so might of just missed you lot. Was definitely a cooler weekend here that’s for sure. Anyways I will be keen for next years trip. If you go the same weekend in November every year (4th weekend) I can go ahead and apply for leave early.
  2. Lol Too many times. Living rural I guess contributes to it. Definitely would be easier to jump on bargains living in the the cities that’s for sure
  3. Sale fell through and was refunded which is fine. Probably got offered more and took that rather than selling to me. Blessing in disguise I guess. In other news I bought a cheap samsung galaxy tab 3, Ford soecific elm327, obd2 extension cable and downloaded the torque pro app to play around with.
  4. Ah fark aye. Well I’ll inspect the quality and have it touched up if needed. If it leaks I’ll replace it when the time comes. I have personally experienced a genuine PW surge tank do as you described jet to my brothers old fg xr turbo. However PW paid to have it returned and sent back their upgraded twin internal pump set up for free.
  5. Lol good because I’ve bought it. Now to make sure I actually receive it. just wasn’t sure if it was a knock off or something. But he assured me it was their earlier model tanks (2012ish) before they went to internal pumps then back to external pumps.
  6. Apparently a earlier model PW surge tank delivered for $220 worth it?
  7. Had another shower today so I had a wet car when I jumped in To take off for work this evening. I took a couple quick snaps of the bonnet to try and capture the self cleaning affect I spoke off before. As the water beads rolled back towards the windscreen they noticeably got dirtier until they flung off. This was at 50kph. After a 10 minute drive at 100kph to work I took this photo pulling up to the boom gate to access the car park: And interesting off topic thing I seen on Facebook the other day from a place in Wagga that I though was cool:
  8. Lol cheers jet. if there’s anything in that pm I sent you that you that you would recommend for me to use feel free to let me know. Your input would be valuable. ps. I may be after a compressor cover from you still at this point as I think I’ll be ready for tuning before my brother changes his set up on his f6. So if you don’t mind pm’ing me prices that would be sweet.
  9. Well the rain/dust definitely left my car looking dirty again. Mostly just on the horizontal planes of the car.(bonnet, boot, roof, door handles etc. Driving home was different watching the beads of water come tumbling towards me from the bonnet though you could notice the water beads collecting the dirt getting darker in colour before being flung onto the windscreen. So now I’m home I pull the hose out and give the car a once over. At this point I guess I wasn’t surprised with the outcome. Cleaned up really well. At this point I’m happy. Now to really test how durable it will be and how it turns out after say 5-10 washes with soap. This final photo As the sun was setting. Everything had a bright orange tinge and I thought it looked cool. Photo doesn’t do it justice though.
  10. Just belted down rain for 10 mins and the dust has settled down nicely. No longer need to squint and I feel like I breathing some clean air again haha. yeah I’m definitely interested to see how my car looks now. Have to wait until 18:30-19:00 though..
  11. Said dust storm: Can usually see hills and farmland but currently can only see maybe 800m. And yeah the car park is straight down there but view is blocked by walkway leading to the boiler house. side note: I’ve found a couple pics of MA77Y car. ebxmple or something. Looks like it’s on vertini fairlady wheels and another of his engine bay which does look sweet with the white cam cover and plenum top. Gave me some ideas for mine when the time comes anyways
  12. Awesome! I’ll have to try find his so I can compare hahaha Wouldn’t read about it but my car has already had a sprinkle of rain on it followed by a dust storm and a few more sprinkles today. I’ll see how it looks when I knock off work tonight lol with a bit of luck hopefully hoses off nicely
  13. So I though I’d suss out this ceramic coating hype. This wasn’t a quick adventure by any chance as it took me almost 2 and a half days of scrubbing. Yeah could of been done quicker but every day life kind of gets in the way and some distractions and rest breaks got me in between but over all I am happy with the outcome. Day one consisted of a wash with CarPro reset, decontamination with waxit claybar and concours purify as lube. Followed by another wash with CarPro reset, chamois and blow dry with my 18v Bosch blower. Followed by a final alcohol rub down with CarPro eraser before I had to call it a day. Here you can see the the purify working eating away at the iron fallout/particles turning the specs into purple liquid. Combined with the clay bar to lift and remove from the paint work: Then another wash with reset: Mandatory pic of the brakes. I’ve gown in love with the colour now. Different lighting give it a different “pop” Day 2 started off with removing tar and sap with “tarsus” and another alcohol wipe down with CarPro eraser followed by a light compounding with my “mothers professional” random orbital machine using “poorboys world SSR 1.0” as a light swirl remover. Another wash with CarPro eraser and then a chamois/blow dry and alcohol rub down before I started with applying Cquartz UK 3.0 Shine of 1 coat: Then whole goving some time to cure, I got onto the wheels next. This process consisted of “concours purge” reactive wheel cleaner. Almost the same chemical as the “concours purify” only stronger. Same smell but noticeably more potent under the nose. Does an excellent job too. I let sit for a couple minutes and then agitated it with a dish washing brush. When it started to dry I used the garden hose “mist” setting do introduce more moisture and make scrubbing with the dish washing brush easier: Then hosed it down to be left with tar.. to remove the tar I used rags soaked in “autosmart TARDIS” This stuff works a treat without too much elbo grease. Pretty much sat the wheels up on a wheelie bin to help with my now tight back and legs from squatting. And just went to town on two wheels at a time enjoying the shade. Next up was applying a wheel sealant. I used “McKee’s 37 wheel glaze” after giving the wheels another alcohol rub down with “CarPro eraser”. Coated wheels: By this stage in the afternoon it was time to go get the kids from day care and then have another crack at the second coat of “Cquartz UK 3.0” when the Mrs got home from work. After coating again I left I the garage over night to cure. Day 3: Next morning began with a super quick blow and wipe to rid the settled dust particles from over night and then had a wipe down with “CarPro RELOAD”. Pics taken just before lunch time. Phone photo quality does not do it any justice. Also always going to be hard to capture the gloss on a white car but here’s the outcome. All in all, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a white car as shiny/glossy as mine ever. I know the pics don’t show it but it has to be seen I person to truly understand. I tried this coating mainly because of its claimed durability. This car lives out in the weather and is my daily drive commuting to work and fetching kids etc. The true turning points that got me to try was a heap of research and stumbling across these videos on YouTube about the product. 20 way comparison: note 1 year and 8 months.. 34 way comparison: Those are the current most recent updates but if go through this guys videos you’ll find the start. And the whole process these have been going through.. Another video worthy of watching if you are interested in going to this same path. Anyways, Now the test of time will tell if this was all worth while to me. But as it stands right now, I’m extremely happy with the way my car looks now. And keen to see how it’s looks after the first wash in a week or two. cheers, Sam.
  14. Here’s a old thread of mine I did on another forum. https://fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11366143
  15. Country driver here happy putting around town off boost. plus I like the sounds without lighting up the rears lol
  16. 100 percent. Can’t go wrong there. The old KISS method is the go for me. I’ll keep an eye out for something around that size of my brother goes ahead with his plans Also with boost pressure I am unsure. I’d like to be in the 400 club when I turn it up but would be happy with 350 for everyday commuting. I was tossing up on 12psi or 15psi spring initially with ported flapper mod done. I’ve read some get over 400 with the 12psi spring and others then the flap starts to lift before getting to 400 as well. So yeah this 6boost/Borgy combo has thrown a spanner in the works. I know that set up pulled 550odd rwkw on e85 what is better to target? Power figure or boost number? Is there a relationship there for what’s better for my bf2 motor? I always thought that more power made on less boost would be more desirable? or say, 18-20psi and what ever it makes it makes. Then be worried about the zf input shaft.
  17. So what’s an acceptable exhaust manifold to intake manifold ratio? looking at that calculator. Which is about all I did lol the turbo specs look right. I messaged my little brother and he had no idea what the turbine a/r is but is certain that it is also twin scroll set up. I did gather from that calculator that maximum was around 34-35mm waste gate to flow enough? But yeah better to go over then to be under sized and be on the edge
  18. It’s t4 to suit the turbo with 60mm tial gate. v band on the dump I’m pretty sure. Maybe even 4 bolt. so all I’d need to do is modify my nizpro dump and plum back for the external gate. I thibk my brother want to keep his 60mm gate though so maybe for me a 45 or 50 would be better?
  19. Are the 6boost manifolds the same for b series through to fg? my brother is keen to change his set up on his fg f6 and use the pro mod manifold with BorgWarner 400sxe. so that leaves me open to his manifold and BW s366 turbo for cheap
  20. What a great read this one was! 2 years since last update, ever end up doing any 1000m sprints?
  21. Had a bit of time yesterday evening and today so started on the brembos. Had a mate sand blast them and coated with the calliper paint kit I purchased from bcs paints. Turned out nothing like the paint chip but I still don’t mind the colour. Definitely not going to stand out with a lot of pop like I was kind of expecting but maybe not such a bad thing either.. Heres some pics of the progress: First coat of silver base: Then I let it sit over night and plugged away at it further over various parts of today waiting for layers to dry in out 25+ degree day today: Then masked up for the brembo stencils: Waited about 10 mins after the last hit of black and peeled off the stencil: And then it was on to the final step of clear: Then mounting to the car which is pretty straight forward after giving plenty of time to dry: Keen to see how they look in the daylight. Also due to give the car a wash and light detail and coat of wax hopefully tomorrow if I get off work early.
  22. I’m pretty set on going to pitlane so I’ll discuss with mick as we get on. Injectors and tune using pcmtech it seems with the brief conversation I’ve already had with him.
  23. I used a smaller pair of them about 7 years ago on my GT-P and can’t fault them. When I found this one for the price brand new I was cheering! Was less then half the price from sureflo them selves for that same size. Have no doubts about it anyways Yeah I’d think so. There’s a newer version out now anyways I think I will probably use. The 1050x. Thinking ill go to pitlane which is about 5 hours away. And yeah heavy trailer behind the petrol prado will probably drink any savings away in fuel
  24. Yeah that’s also a good point to concider. But even when new they would need to be flow tested anyways just to make sure
