  1. Ok so going back to these injectors. The bloke has dropped his price a little more. At this stage he’s $500 plus $10 postage. For some reason I thought they came off a FG but must of been a different advert I’d seen else where. They are in fact suited to b series with the longer style purple injector adapters. they actually come of a bf F6. he is still adamant that they are roughly 10k old as well. only changed because of bigger turbo and needing over 2200cc injectors to keep fuel up to it. So I guess im still unsure if it’s a good deal or not? Also another thing of interest to me is changing to a T04s style surge slotted .7ar 4” in 2.5” out compressor cover. I found a interesting thread on using said cover, backing plate and retainer bracket/clamps on standard turbo and his claimed results are interesting. I haven’t found any more really good info on this yet but here it is:
  2. That particular shift rotation for me keeps me out working nights fri, sat and Sunday. Would love to go on the cruise. It’s great driving up there for sure! Still trying to convince a work colleague to swap shifts with me but usually proves hard to get someone to cover 3 nights over a weekend. Though hasn’t said no yet so maybe comes at a cost of a long weekend or something usually to pay back. But at the moment in time nothing concrete. I can however should that fail be able to pull in and say hello on the way to work at the old train station easily enough.
  3. Can you pm me said thread please? I can’t seem to find it. I’d like to show my two brothers. One of which has his Ute there that was supposed to be completed back in March. Is a au Ute with built motor. Dart pro heads on dart 363ci block, scat rods, crank and pistons with Weiand 174 Supercharger woth Holley dominator efi t/b set up on top. Other brother running built motor by them with all the fruit in his manual fg f6 tuned on their dyno to “550rwkw” with a bw s366 and e85.
  4. Ps. Coles vpower is the most expensive in town at about $1.85 I have been using Mobil 98 which is located at “5 ways”. The last servo in town on the way out along the snowy mountains highway and is priced on average 20c cheaper then shell here. Also another note: I recommend the surf and turf for dinner from the woolpack hotel. Do yourself a favour and treat yourselves to that. You won’t regret it
  5. At this stage I’m still stuck working night shift over that weekend. If worse comes to worse I can still meet you all anytime between 7:00 and 17:30ish where ever in Tumut.
  6. How could I compete with that offer!? Far better than my best of 6 steelies with no tread left on 4 and barely legal tread on 2 of them on top of 3 big bots of VB and a pack or Winnie reds
  7. Yeah the meth head needed cash right away. I was stuck at work doing night shift 200+km away. When somone asks to make an offer, who in their right mind would start at top dollar?
  8. Spewing I missed the rear brembos... but anyways, I’ve got the more important front ones and they will be enough I’m sure. I cleaned them up as much as I could care to today. I’ve decided I’m going to paint them anyway so will be sand blasting the original paint off. I left the colour choice up to my wife and she has come back with the candy green. #2 from that colour card chart I posted up earlier. So ordered that paint kit this arvo and will also be making up brembo stencils so I can paint the brembo logo on in black. The original paint is missing a lot of clear coat. Also checked and found the pistons and seals all appear to be fine but I think I’ll order new dust boots and seals anyway. They are 40mm and 44mm on both callipers. Dust boots: >20.4872.46 (40mm) >20.4872.48 (44mm) seals: >05.5955.58 (40mm) >05.5955.60 (44mm) mandatory pics of current condition: rotors and pads: I can’t comment on what the RDA & ebc red stuff pads combination is like but I feel I might move these on anyway and buy new dba t3 rotors and matching dba xp pads. For the front: dba t3 (dba 42102s “355mm x 32mm”) and dba pads to suit (db1935xp) For the rears: dba t3 (42108s “328mm x 26mm”) Also I gave a thought to use the “SP” pads over the “XP” pads but not 100% sure just yet. The “XP” pads look very good all round according to that chart above.. Dba XP pads (db1675xp) Dba SP pads (db1675sp)
  9. I have pieced together a exhaust already. Ive a used 4” nizpro dump, new 4” ballistic cat with 5” body 100 cell and a used mild steel 3.5” xforce. I’m somwhere around $900 without all gaskets and need flanges for the cat. I might try put some time in this week to fit the new diff bushes and while the car is jacked up on stands I could install the cat back exhaust for the moment. I would do the full exhaust but have read numerous times it’s not wise unless I’m ready for a tune which is some time away yet. Or would I get away with fitting the dump pipe but still using the standard cat as some form of restriction in the exhaust?
  10. Ok cheers. I was a little doubtful over them. I did try him for $400’but he wasn’t keen. What is the difference between the b series and fg? Is it a different connector/plug?
  11. Haven’t finished giving them a real good clean yet. Gave them a quick scrub with truck wash then run out of time. Mrs was due home any minute so quickly packed it up and stored away for the moment to avoid any unnecessary questions. ill try and clean up better tomorrow and get some better pictures of the fronts. Further updates: I might have missed out on the rear brembo deal with the same bloke. He’s a bit of a strange character. anyways Ill know for sure come tomorrow. If I do manage to get the rears as well I think I might strip them all back completely and repaint myself in a candy colour. Thinking red, blue and flirting with white. Undecided on what colour but definitely one of these: I think white will be a pain to keep clean, though I do wash my car at least twice a month, sometimes more living out in the weather.. I have a backup purchase coming should the rear brakes definitely falls through. Come across a guy selling injector dynamics 1000cc. Aparently only 10000km old and never had e85 through them if that even matters? I have him down to $550 delivered at this stage for Friday. Aparently they were on a fg and he says will suit b series? This I’m not certain about. Also looking at the pics they appear to me to be older than 10000km old. I would of thought they would look basically brand spanking new. What do you all reckon? Good deal or pass? His pics he sent me:
  12. Picked up some 4 pot front brembos with fairly new pads and discs this arvo. The fellow was trying to sell a whole vixen red GT-P that had been stacked but I woke up this morning with a message from the bloke saying he’s decided to part it out now and to make an offer on the front brakes I originally messaged him about a couple days ago. So like usual you offer low and make your way up but he was happy with my initial offer of $500 for callipers only sight unseen. He brought the disc brakes as well to our meeting spot and accepted a extra $50 for me to take them. They appear to be RDA drilled and slotted and don’t even have a lip at all on them yet. I would have much preferred DBA but beggars can’t be choosers. Caught on the wrong end of the pay month I intend on picking up the rear set up as well next weekend. Anyways, I will clean and inspect these bad boys tomorrow!
  13. Worth while? Or too small? aparently brand new only removed from the box for photos. Comes with piping to suit. Process west stage 1 kit
  14. Well pretty much have the exhaust sorted now. Jumped onto a dump pipe in Melbourne. $350 delivered for a 4” nizpro. Just need some gaskets and flanges for my ballistic cat. Shes a bit of a mongrel breed of a exhaust but I’m sure it will work just fine.
  15. Managed to get onto a cat back exhaust. its a 3.5” xforce job I picked up for $420. was slightly modified ba/f to suit a Barra swapped ed falcon. This time I purchased from a reputable wrecker from Brisbane. “DANS FPV PARTS WRECKER” and the exhaust was actually on his modified ed that was running over 380rwkw. He has now changed to a custom 4” and GTX3584rs. Anyways it might bolt straight up without too much drama. We’ll see. Then work out the dump pipe section later. Now some better pics of my turbo after a duragloss wash and chamois dry. really liking the way it sits now especially with the silver argents. Also on the way in the mail is nolathane diff bushes and the new front shocks to suit the lowered front springs. list of things to come are injector dynamics 1000, Valve springs and head studs? or “atomic ready to boost kit”, oil pump gears and plate or whole new oil pump. Timing chain kit, bigger in tank fuel pump, Intercooler kit (JT, plaz, PW), xcal4 and tune. Probably zf oil cooler as well.
  16. Where did you get the venom sytem? I see they have a ebay store and their full system is $2290. Or their twin 2.5” “catback” is $995 delivered
  17. Farken hell that is cheap! $1150!!! I like this quiet buisiness
  18. Price wise I think venom and xforce were close to the same. Same as using flanges once you factor in the gasket as well there’s maybe a few dollars difference. And will probably only need 3 maybe 4 sets. I only considered using v band because I haven’t used them before and look easy enough to do plus not having to worry about gaskets is kind of appealing also. I could do in mild steel. But I like stainless lol if I think of it this way, 4” stainless exhaust systems are mostly 2k plus. Manta do a twin 3” for like $3300. I think the best way to go probably is jump onto a good second hand system when the right one pops up
  19. I also started pricing up 4” stainless mandrel bends, gaskets, turbo flange, vee band sets and mufflers to build my own exhaust. I’m up to about $1000. Plus another $600-650 for borla xr1 mufflers plus time and other consumables. Looking at those numbers the TOG exhausts look like pretty good value for money considering it looks like a direct copy of the Nizpro 4” for $1600 delivered. Another option im considering is lobster backing a dump pipe as I have a length of 4” stainless pipe that’s about 1700mm in length sitting at my old place in the shed doing nothing. Then maybe reducing to 3.5” to middle muffler and rest of the way to the tip. Might save somewhere around $400 going that way. OR reducing down to twin 2.5” mild steel xforce new for about $500 for their catback and modifying it to suit. otherwise I can sit back longer and stalk the markets for second hand 4” xforce exhaust. I seen there’s one on Facebook for about $780 in stainless but the cat internals had been knocked out. It’s somewhere in qld iirc and unsure if I want to had that kind of money out again to someone I don’t know a rely on them freighting it for me. Which would no doubt be about another $100 on top.
  20. Finally got a little time to put the front springs in Thursday just gone and has had a little time to settle in. Still on standard front shocks. They were still fine and thought I’d put these kffl-57SL X to see how they sit. Pretty happy with how it is now. Sitting at about 330-335mm at all corners except for the front left towering in at 345mm (same day measurement was 355mm) Double checked that all had seated well and thought it needed a little settling time but how it is now I’m guessing is meant to be on the drivers side. I did check over the springs initially to see if there was any give away on passenger/driver side specific springs but seen no such markings. all in all it was pretty straight forward and un eventful.. The turbo isn’t the cleanest at the moment and I had just taken these pics tonight. Well get better ones in my days off this weekend. Also today this bad boy arrived in the mail. $160 delivered from Facebook marketplace find. Happy with that as I was quoted $360 delivered for this exact cat from sureflo exhaust a month or so ago.
  21. Managed to service the prado and made a spacer for the rear wheel carrier. (New slightly bigger tyres 265/70/17 Mickey Thompson atz p3). Also installed the steering wheel this arvo to the turbo but had to put the tools away early for the front springs because I’ve been called in to work tonight and need to get a little rest before the 12 hour night. All went smoothly. Just had one moment of panic once I finished. And that was a fear of installing upside down. The perforated leather around the top spun me out as I’m used to what my GT-P has (perforated sides grips only). Anyways some pics to show what I mean: Turbos steering wheel (yeah I know the floor needs a good cleaning) Ba mk2 GT-P steering wheel:
  22. Haven’t had time to put the front springs or steering wheel in yet but I did give the big girl a much needed wash after all the rain we had this past week. clean courtesy of duragloss 901 and concours purge reactive wheel cleaner. its hard to really catch how good it looks after using the duragloss concentrate on a white car. But I swear it gives it a nice canuabra wax glow afterwards.
  23. I am rostered on to work night shift and holidays are already taken for that weekend by someone else on my shift so at this stage I am out. I will however see if the other bloke already booked off will let me take it. If not will try to organise shift swaps. (Usually a tough gig to get coverage night shift on a weekend)
