  1. You might want to quizz them a little harder for delivery date. I called around a few other dealers and got same feedback - earliest delivery would be August so no point me starting with new order elsewhere, they all come from same factory. They also saying, while new shape is expected to be last quarter of 2014, realistic deliveries would be March / April 2015.

At this point am happy to sit tight and wait, not that I have a choice if I want new.

I ordered 'Vanish' with luxury pack.

What area did you purchase in Training Wheels? I am Sydney (Hawkesbury)

  2. Unfortunately had a call from dealership today explaining they cannot supply my order as originally indicated (by June 30) reason given was parts shortage blah blah for builds of complete FG range & Territory. All indications are for an August / Sept delivery 'maybe' . Also withdrew my agreed trade in valuation which I can understand I guess.

I'm pretty black and white on this kind of stuff. I've always been of the opinion that Ford are failing because people don't buy the product. Now thinking, dont or can't. 5 years ago when I placed deposit for the XRT I have now, dealer couldn't supply the vehicle with specs I was after (colour) so gave my deposit back for me to shop elsewhere. How hard is it honestly.

    Just scratch my head honestly.

  3. Yeah my order isn't for the final model, it's for current FGII. Might also ad, dealers saying pricing will be higher for last model than current. Have wanted a ute for ages now. Can't wait.

  4. Chatting to a couple of dealers and feedback has been new shape will be released October but real expectations of deliveries to purchasers would be closer to Feb 2015. I have placed an order for for current model with luxury pack in Vanish colour with a 6-8 week wait. Hanging out for my new ute.

  5. Apologies if this topic has been raised previously.

Does anyone know if the the next (last) shape Falcon will carry over to the ute? I'm looking at upgrading this year from my sedan to a ute, but don't want to buy yet if the new shape is about to hit the showrooms.

  6. I've had my transmission serviced and re-tuned by Autotech Engineering in Sydney. I've not experienced a more professional and customer focused service provider in my life. These guys not only know their stuff but are dedicated to their work in every way.

Spiro kept me posted every step of the way, he asked my approval for the most minor job before proceeding and explained the process and reason for what he was recommending.

Check out their web site and testimonials, they're spot on.

So in a nutshell, transmission is performing better than new and box didn't have to be rebuilt.

  7. Mines doing the same I have 34000kms with same mods but with valve springs n it's getting replaced under warrenty

Replaced under warranty by who? Mod's void warranty.

Mine is out of warranty anyway. is an 09 Model with 70,000 k on it.

  8. So if Essgee's sh*ts itself in ten years time he's just has to take it in an Ford will give him a brand spanker?

I would think if I didn't persue the issue and have it tidied up within 3 months then I would deservedly be on my own from there. God help me even more if I'm still driving this one on ten years time to even worry about it.

I wanna be in my second FPV by then.

  9. So as long as you call up and say my auto's making funny noises you have an unlimited warranty? Sweet!

Not saying I have an unlimited warranty but when they called me today and asked me if I was happy with the recent service I said yeah. I then told them I wanted it documented that the box was still slipping and I didn't want to be left with a failed gearbox as end of warranty was looming.

I was told that as long it was documented (which she punched notes into the system while I was on the phone) there would be no dramas down the track.

Hope I never have to put them to the test obviously, but time will tell.

Did I say that? He's taken it in, they've repaired it, if those repairs don't fix it they'll have to do it again.

Do you actually read anything properly or just see mention of ZF and break out in to a fit of unrestrained rage?

Yep that's pretty much it. Basically, they've admitted to me that a 'sealed gearbox' lost 500ml of fluid without an explanation. In my world, that's called a 'component failure'. They have explored an initial option to make minor repairs and monitor operation. If normal operation fails, further rectification works will need to be applied.

  10. I've just had mine looked at by Power Ford for similar symptoms (late changing down when coming to a complete stop, slipping when changing up from 1st to 2nd when cold) They kept it over 2 nights to check it out when it is cold. They came back to me and said the box was 500ml short of fluid. Thye changed the fluid and asked me to monitor it. There's a definite improvement bu the fault is still there.

Warranty runs out in 2 months so will be giving them a call this week to let them know. I have already asked them to make sure my complaint is documented incase it becomes worse or totally fails outside of warranty.

For what it's worth, Power Ford Castle Hill have been great to deal with.

  11. Finally had my Bluetooth module upgraded under warranty. Thanks to the guys at Power Ford Castle Hill in Sydney. They are a decent bunch of blokes there. I bought a second XR6 (non turbo) there around 1 year ago. Just easy to deal with.

Anyway, fingers crossed , this case is now closed.
