  1. Happy Birthday tpinto!

  2. From what I was told the flash box has the information about what box the vehicle has got from the initial tune so when they update the software from sct everything gets downloaded automatically and you can not choose what you want downloaded. It's all or nothing but I'm sure other tuners will be able to clarify this .
  3. Don't know if there are any solicitors on this site but could this not be seen as some type of discrimination against owners of ZF's Why should these owners have to fork out the dollars for software they don't require or even want.
  4. Well I hope its true because that is what I was told by Jim from Tunehouse and that is why I just dished out $800 on top of another tune this morning for an Xcal 3...If its not true then someone has not been honest with me and Ive just thrown $800 in the trash......But I'm sure that is not the case, well I'm certain that is not the case.
  5. Hi all , Took the car in to Tunehouse for a service and some extra work and also a check up on the tune to make sure everything was running as it should be. Got a call from Tony yesterday morning to inform me that there was a problem with the Xcal 2 as it would not allow any settings to be changed after a software update. I ended speaking to Jim who informed that he had Just spoken to SCT and that the Xcal 2 was no longer supported if the vehicle has the ZF but will be at this stage if it has a manual box. This was due to the ZF tuning software now available with the update and that the only way around this was a Xcal 3, so my Xcal 2 is now nothing but crap unless I decide not to retune or have the settings touched or if I just want to change between tune type... SCT thanks alot there goes another $800 , when are you blokes going to bring out the Xcal 4 to make the 3 Ive just been forced to purchase because Ive got a ZF that I dont want touched redundant also ???
  6. True to an extent, but isnt this thread about how much the standard FG turbo can take???
  7. UHHHM does that mean that cars tuned on roller dynos getting 320 rwkws are actually producing 350 rwkws on the bitumen or every car that Jims tuned to 320rwks is actually only producing 290 rwkws, Im confused, oh and the torque 917 Nm is that wrong also, I know what 320rwkws feel like because I got that from another premier Sydney tuner on a roller dyno and I sure know that What I have now far exceeds that.
  8. Mostly all genuine Ford... FG F6 injectors. FG F6 intercooler. V8 air box but a GT box because the outlet is larger than a standard XR8,4 inch Dump , Genuine Ford GT exhaust from dump back (Yes twin), surge tank with bosh pump. and turbo Pipe kit. but I will say one thing Jim did tell me that it was one of the best breathing XR6s he has had in the shop and that's probably got a lot to do with the results.. And maybe the 5 or so hours on the DYNO
  9. Completely standard turbo...thanks to Jim and Tony at Tunehouse
  10. Mine runs 350 rwks with standard turbo and 917 nm and has been since July last year. still not one problem with ZF or diff
  11. Its a very common thing with fords since the AU. Ford have a product "LY70" but expect to pay a fair bit for a tube and you probably will never use it all up , they normally put some in the channels when you take the car in for a service. the problem you have if you don't lube the windows is that often you burn out the regulator motors quicker
  12. Somehow I dont think that you will be going back to the NT05's once you use the Invo"s Ben but like I mentioned above the only thing Im not certain about the Invos is the wear and just how they grip after a few thousand kays.
  13. I got them from Eagle Tires at Granville because that's where I got my rims and previous tires. I did call up a couple other places and they all quoted the same price and the fact that I would be waiting from 3 to 6 weeks for them to come in as a special order from Japan and I guess that's because they all called up the same bloke who imports them. But next time and believe me there will be a next time unless I have issues like wear I might import them directly from the States and save a few dollars but the only issue being if theirs are made in Japan or somewhere else.. It was the first time that the blokes at Eagle have seen these tires and they were very impressed by its looks even more so when they were on the car so much so that they are thinking of keeping stock of them. For any one that has had the NT05's and liked them then you will love the Invo for the fact that they grip about the same in the dry. better in the wet but a whole lot smoother and very quiet. Sorry about the layout of this post fellas but for some reason when I post the lines are breaking up and dropping down mid sentence even though it all looks good as I type.
  14. I know there is alot of posts on this forum about tires and that maybe I should of continued on with another post but since I don't think that too many people have heard of them or even tried them I thought that it would be the right thing to start a new post. Ok then, got them installed yesterday morning 245/35/19 fronts on a 8 inch rim and 285/30/19 on a 9.5 inch rim with a +42 offset , the first thing I noticed is that its an aggressive looking tire even more so than its pictures and another thing is that its non directional so you can switch them around from left to right. The rears fit just perfectly on the rear of the sedan with about 5 mm of distance from the lower control blade and sits just inside the the guard by about 2 mm and up to now and 65km not once have they rubbed. The verdict? for the price "350 front and 400 rears" the best tires I have yet fitted to my currant car and that includes Marangoni, Falken 452 and Nitto Nto5 which I had on the car as a loan for two weeks. Got some rain yesterday and in the wet they were a lot better than the others 3, in the dry they where again a lot better than the Marangoni or the Falken but about the same as the Nt05 but what its got all over the Nt05 is the smoothness and quietness and I can honestly say that its one of the quietest and smoothest performance tires Ive ever owned. On the down side, is the way they feel going at speed around corners, don't get me wrong they keep up with the other 3 but they feel a little tentative almost sluggish and feel like they can brake traction at any time, don' t know if having 285's on a 9.5 inch rim has any thing to do with. But overall Im extremely happy with the results and would recommend them to anyone.
  15. Hey bud, just change the upper control are bushes to super pro like I did . Fixed the problem straight away and hasnt come back even after 40K.
  16. If we are talking Fg then the F6 and GT bars are a one piece while the XR bar is a two piece with the lower insert being removable . Now if you have an XR and want the insert that has the duel cut outs then the GS insert is for you only expect to be asked for a Vin number and also expect to to pay more for the insert than you would for a complete XR bar.
  17. Had mine replaced 4 weeks ago under warranty.
  18. And the shape of the chrome exhaust tip of the rear muffler.
  19. Wouldnt waste my time with this "New Improved Diff Bush" , mine lasted only a few weeks, what a total waste of time that was.AND yes it was the new one . Ended going to Pat at Wholesale Suspension for one of theirs. Just give him a call and Im sure he will explain to you what he saw when he pulled the 'New Improved Bush" out and why it failed.
  20. yeah and cows can still jump over the moon. PLEASE come on fellas why in this world would an insurance company write off a 40k + car for about 5 k worth of repairs. My brother had just over 27 k worth of repairs done to his 2010 XR T after he lost it and hit a gutter and side swiped a tree. front door., rear door. quarter guard , rear bar taillight and every suspension component on the left hand side front and rear including every control arm . rear CV, steering rack and two rims and tires. Side airbags and a few other trim bits. car was insured for 55k. The owners name wouldnt happen to be Mohammad who has a "Fully Sick" workshop come garage at the back of his mums house and a "Fully Sick" crew comprising of a few cousins who are more accustomed to taking cars apart then putting them back together?
  21. Hope this link works and if it does it might show you why would have to have rocks in your head to even consider purchasing one of these death traps. http://www.caradvice.com.au/64435/nsw-government-to-introduce-new-repairable-write-off-legislation/ OH AND FORGOT TO ADD. If it becomes illegal then no insurance company will look at you and good luck trying to reinsure one
  22. Firstly, Got some Bilstein shocks installed on Saturday courtesy of Wholesale Suspension and Pat and WOW what a difference to the handling and feel to the car, took it for a run along the winding roads of the national park yesterday and it just ate up the bends. Thanks Pat, could not be happier the difference is amazing and I would encourage anyone to do the upgrade. Secondly, Diff Bush !!! Got the new diff bush installed a few weeks ago and let me just say that when the boys from service and myself had a look at it we could not understand how this bush could be an upgrade and if anything a downgrade maybe. A couple of them even took bets on how long it would last on my car. If anyone has not seen the upgraded bush then let me describe it to you. Apparently the rubber compound has been upgraded but unfortunately it now has two huge voids on either side of the bush and the rubber now only makes contact on 2 sides of the body of the bush instead of four . the voids are about one and a half inches long and run around either side of the body . Im sure Pat would be more than happy to put a picture up of the bush if he still has it. I first noticed the a problem with the bush a couple of weeks after the install because of the noise going over bumps and it gradually got worse , the car then developed a slight lateral movement as it went over bumps and all the usual other problem associated with a broken diff bush. Pat took the car for a quick drive before hand and noticed the problem straight away and so now the car was in for a shock upgrade and a diff bush upgrade. The thing I really dont understand is how is the upgraded bush suppose to last longer than the old one? and to my way of thinking by the way its designed if the bush is installed with the voids set vertically you will get excessive side to side movement and if set horizontally then excessive up and down movement especially going over bumps and uneven surfaces and more so when the rubber goes soft after a few thousand K's, but its only my opinion and I stand to be corrected. Once again thanks Pat your crew did a great job.
  23. My mirrors were bought complete from Ford . I dont think that the wiring from the lens of the mirror to the door loom is serviced.
  24. Part Numbers are up the top of this thread Josh. Good job FG XXXR6. did you end up using the mirrors from ebay? The mirrors sure do add to the car. Hope to get my badges this weekend, Saw them half finished a few days ago and they look rather good.
  25. Yeah it plugs straight in and the repeaters on the mirror work without a problem. The side repeaters work at the same time also but it looks a little dicky with the 2 repeaters going at the same time, in regards to what Ive done with the repeaters on the guards ,at this stage Ive just popped the globes out and painted them black while I wait for a couple of custom made badges to be finished which should be towards the end of next week. One thing I did notice is that the back of the FPV and for that matter the G6E guard badge has a holder were they go through the guard so that you can plug in the existing indicator globe holder less the globe which suggests to me that maybe all the FPVs and G6Es have the side repeater wiring for the guards also.
