    Hey everyone. I spent some time researching variable geometry (vgt) turbos today. I was just wondering wat your opinion of Variable Geometry Turbo chargers on an 6t of f6 motor be and the forseeable gains/losses in performance and further more on a tuned length manifold would it be worth the effort.. Im Curious to know how low you can potentially start developing maximum torque. If any one is intereseted in this and is well informed please let me know.

Ok the story goes like this... today my friend and I set out to make his s3 dose. using the information I had found and understood it was easily doable. pod filter block off bov plumbing and vac line etc. it worked perfectly and my mate drove home happy as larry. it wasnt long later that he called me saying his car was behaving strangely. he explained how it felt "non responsive" when he put his foot down. I told him to bring it back sure enough after driving the car myself it felt as though the accelerator pedal did nothing, no fuel was getting to the engine and it was exrteemly slow (spluttering hardly accelerating at all) and then suddenly at 3000rpm it would take off rapidly. needless to say we returned everything back to factory settings bov in place and all wires checked everything looked fine. a rev of the motor indicated that there was no change. we reset the ecu still no improvement. im totally stumped.. I feel bad for my mate. so if someone anyone can shed some light on the subject it would be great. thanks. brock

  9. im thinking of getting the stage one kit from bpt in perth. it comes with tune from sniper box (are they any good?) and slight air intake modification. I have an extended warrenty too (will it affect my warrenty?). so if ford do the up dates on is it just a case of pluging the sniper back in storing the new factory updates and then putting the sniper tune back on?

    have you had it back on the dyno recently and did you get those figures you wanted? how bad is the lag with a huge turbo like that? ie is it a reall slug under 2500-3000k or is it still pretty perky out of boost so civics and lancers dont leave you behind at lights?
  11. Hey has any one had problems with flash tuners later down the track? im thinking of getting a stage 1 kit from bpt in wangara (perth) for $750 they use the sniper flasher. has anybody heard anything to look out for or dodge about them or any problems that have revealed over time?

  15. you should try drive my old eb xr6 in the wet. way less power dont mis-interperate me just it never got any to the ground in the wet.. live rear axel and 225's pobably didt help I think. these thing have sh*t loads more rear end grip in the arse end when you come from that background. its to be expected from a car some 15years newer. im still getting used to it though
