  2. I posted the same question here. Basically it's full time AWD with a 62:38 split between the rear/front wheels. Assuming you stopped the front wheels spinning then the rears would keep going. Pulling the ABS fuse would in theory also disable the DSC and prevent the system from trying to apply the rear brakes while the fronts were locked down from spinning freely. So the video in the original post may be legit but the consensus is that this method of tuning is not recommended. Either way I had already booked the Territory in at XFT last week to be done end of this week. Not sure if they know about the dyno update 'junkie' but I believe they will be 'road tuning' it.
  3. Simon at XFT doesn't tune Territory's on their available AWD dyno because they dance around and try to 'climb off' during dyno runs. Similar to this video (see first dyno run) There's an tuning outfit in Sydney that tunes Territory's on a 2WD dyno. Apparently this is done by removing the ABS fuse. Is this a common practice for other Ford tuners? What are the ramifications of tuning a Territory this way? ie Any strain on driveline components? Will the tune correctly match the characteristics of the vehicle once power is returned to all four wheels? Does anybody actually know why they move around this way on the dyno?

    Picked Up G6et

Really? Same A/R and trim? Spose the only other thing slowing the F6 down is the weight.

    Picked Up G6et

Never said the magazine articles did hold a great deal of weight - hence my specific mention of the 'few' magazine tests so far. KW results can also vary greatly from dyno to dyno - as well as ambient air temperatures during the dyno run also playing a role. The XR6T and the G6ET run identical engines, gearboxes, tyres and weigh virtually the same (the XR may be slightly lighter). The only real difference I can see that may impact 0-100km times is the luxury (ie softer) suspension on the G6ET which may theoretically improve or reduce the amount of grip available during a hard launch. The F6 has the same displacement engine as the XR6T and GE6T with most of the extra power courtesy of a larger (ie slower spooling) turbo. This could potentially hamper 0-100 times slightly (especially seeing as the rear tyres are also still only 245 on the F6). Buggered if I know why so many people place so much emphasis on 0-100 and times anyway. While driving around on the roads how often would you mash the big go pedal and scream up to 100 clicks, then think to yourself... "Phew, I'm glad I bought the G6ET. Cause if I'd bought the F6 that may have taken a tenth longer!" The real benefit of the power of these cars is their ability to accelerate once they're already up and rolling. Through the twisty's and overtaking.

    Picked Up G6et

Based on the few magazine tests (Wheels & Motor).
  7. That sounds about right as the Novated lease will exclude GST. In other words it would be around $57,000 under a 'normal' sale.
  8. Auto. Faster, smoother, better fuel consumption, better towing capabilities and I can't be stuffed changing gears.
  9. 12 months rego drive away ~$51,000 I reckon.
  10. Thanks senna_T. :flameman: Plus it has to sit around in a transport yard for a week or so, then loaded onto a truck, drive to WA, off load to another transport yard where it'll sit around for another week or so. About mid-August then I reckon.
  11. Thanks senna_T But I've only ordered an XR6T (Nitro, ZF, Airbags, Dark Silver Trim).
  12. If you're in a SIDO-looking-up kinda mood could you please check at what stage SIDO 369876 is currently at? Cheers MGR
  13. None of the prices in this thread mean a lot if you don't specify which state you've bought the car in, whether or not there is a trade involved with the deal and whether it was INC or EX GST. Some dealers will 'massage' the new car price if they get a good deal on the trade-in. I'm guessing dealer delivery to TAS or WA is going to be much higher than VIC too. For example: STAMP DUTY (Based on a new car price of $50,000) ACT - $1,600 NSW - $1,600 NT - $1,600 QLD - $1,750 SA - $1,940 TAS - $2,000 VIC - $1,250 WA - $3,250 (thieving bastards)
  14. Is your iPod loaded with the latest firmware?
  15. Ordered XRT6 Sedan, Nitro, ZF6 on Monday 30th June. Build date 'late July' with ETA to dealer 'mid August' (Perth).
  16. Only 14.8kw drivetrain loss huh? Geez.. that ZF box and driveline must be really efficient? Was the dyno running in 'shootout' mode?
  17. ...then fit some decent wheels and dump it. Source
  18. They are the factory optional 19" wheels for the XR range. Congrats on the new ride Hustler.
  19. My test drive was also in damp conditions. However there were a few dry patches around to give the GE6T a useful squirt. On one occasion the sales rep insisted I give it a boot-full up a slight incline in the damp. Of course the car broke into instant wheel spin so I eased the throttle and just dribble up the hill with the back tyres rotating faster than the front. It was good few seconds before the traction control decided that enough was enough and it brought the wheel spin to an abrupt halt. The sales rep looked puzzled and quizzed me if I had disabled the DSC, which of course I hadn't. "It's never spun that long before?" he claimed. Perhaps it recognised the fact I was controlling the wheel spin by reducing the power with my right foot? When the TC finally did cut the fun it wasn't the most subtle system I've come across. Reminded me of the older model Late model camira TC systems in the company cars I used to drive. Comparatively the TC system in my current VZ SV6 works much better, however given the fact it's trying to control much less power and torque, perhaps that's not a fair comparison. Apart from the cruddy resale value of Fords (and Holdens) - compared to other makes/models - it's difficult to find fault with the G6ET, especially it's aesthetics. I understand the XR6T is never going to be at the same level as the G6ET internally but there's a few things that just don't gel. 1. The Instrument Cluster As I've said earlier, I'm not a fan of the new gauges. Of course the XR range is catering to a different breed of consumer compared to the G range, but I though Ford would've recognised that motor vehicles aren't driven by five year olds. 2. No sunglasses holder I can live without leather, colour LCD, premium sound, fully electric seats etc, but why did they have to skimp on a $5 piece of plastic moulding? My 2005 SV6 has one and it's the most used storage compartment in the car. Simple cheap feature that made it into the 'G' series and should have been in the XR range. 3. 'Streetwise' trim The red and blue trims are too tacky and the black too dark. The silver is a good compromise but it's overlayed with a black crochet looking knit. It's like my Nanna's made me some car seat covers I can't take off. Could be worse I guess... SS-V I much prefer the interior of the VE SV6 and they have a Sportswagon version available soon which would be a better option for me in terms of practicality (kids, dogs etc). But the power of the XR6T is quite attractive and the massive torque would make it a good tow vehicle for the race car. But unless the Ford man can do the numbers I'll probably end up in another commondore.
